Christmas Day: Molly receives her jumpers

Molly thought she’d keep the tears at bay this year, but one by one, Molly opened her presents on Christmas day and discovered a whole collection of hand-knit jumpers. She looked up and saw the unlikely family that came to be over the years in front of her and the tears came instantly.

“We love you, Molly,” said Arthur, gently reaching out to hold her hand.

Summary: When Draco desperately insists on becoming a Centaur Liaison, he doesn’t know what he’s getting into, especially with that annoying hero-turned-hermit Harry Potter living right at the entrance to the Forbidden Forest. Not to mention foreign unicorn women, slavering three headed beasts, bitter brews, unexpected friendships, and the consequences of a very cocky vocabulary.

Rating: The tone of this is so fun and soft at the same time! Draco is struggling to maintain a job at the ministry, and kind of bullies his way into becoming the ‘Centaur Liaison’ which, if you don’t remember from the books, meant you were fired. But Draco makes it a job anyway, and ends up going to the Forbidden Forest stubbornly every single day in order to make contact with the centaurs. This character works so well for me, especially because I simply can’t imagine Draco taking any post-war prejudice thrown his way sitting down. At first he is hindered by Harry, who stays at Hagrids hut, but is eventually aided by him and even befriends him, and then eventually… you get the picture. Their relationship development was so organic and sweet too!

All the titbits of information and mythical lore in this is also very charming and intriguing, adding a magical life to this lighthearted story.
