           5. How quiet this train light rail is, even when it’s moving.

           When the light rail made its second to last stop before her destination, Monique thought nothing in particular of the man who stepped onboard. Somewhat short, with neatly trimmed hair and shiny shoes that zealously reflected the pinkish oranges of the rising sun from outside. He looked to be about in his early or mid-thirties (a seasoned and wise age for Monique, who modestly turned 22 this year and was going on Broke-College-Kid). He was dressed in a three-piece gray suit, with a perfectly knotted pink tie and an impeccably folded handkerchief of the same soft color, resting presentably in his breast pocket. In one hand he carried a briefcase, which was light enough, apparently, to swing about with as much abandon as one could in a public place and a crowded space, and in the other he clutched a pink notebook, with a pink, sparkly pen sleeping in the spiral wire. He fleetingly used the notebook to push up the square-rimmed black glasses that threatened to slide even farther down the bridge of his nose.

           11. Hihi will admire it if I dress nice for work every day.

           Monique, who half-listened idly to music from her phone and used the other half of her early morning energy to browse through a blog, even thought nothing of it when the man looked around him and noticed a spot that sat unoccupied but for the beams of sunlight streaking through the plastic windows.

           “May I sit here?” came the polite question, and Monique looked up, smiled, and nodded in response. He returned the smile and sat next to her, putting his briefcase on the ground and smoothing the notebook down on his lap.

First of all, thank you so much for signing up for this! I’m really excited to get to see your work, I know that it will be fantastic and that I will adore it, whatever it may be!

I’m going to outline some squicks/likes/potential prompts here, but I’d like to make it very clear that, unless it involves something one of my squicks, if you have an idea, please, go for it. I’m long-winded here and offer a good amount of prompts, but it’s just to be sure that I’m giving you something to work with - I know how killer being blocked can be. When it comes to this sort of thing I am very easy to please, so don’t worry about matching anything here exactly. Just because I haven’t specifically listed something here as something that I enjoy doesn’t mean I won’t absolutely love your gift if it turns out to be something different.

I’ve separated art and fic ideas for each pairing, but this is mostly to do my best to include art-friendly prompts, not to completely segregate suggestions based on medium - if an art prompt strikes your fancy and you’re an author (or vice versa), please, feel free to use it! And also feel free to ignore the prompts altogether and do your own thing. I’m sure I’ll love it! So, without further disclaiming:

Squicks:

anything that emphasizes age difference. With Xena/Gabrielle especially - I don’t think their ages are ever really talked about in canon, but I sometimes see people - very logically - working with the assumption that Xena is much older than Gabrielle and really playing with that dynamic, and, like so many pointless and short-lived male love interests, I prefer to sweep that under the rug.

incest - none of my requests are incest ships, obviously, but I just thought I’d throw it out there because it’s a huge no-go for me, so if you had some kind of elaborate plot somehow involving incest in mind, I’d appreciate if you....didn’t do that. (A long shot, I know, but you can’t be too careful, right?)

FLUFF. DOMESTICITY. ABSOLUTELY GRAND. I’m not at all opposed to angst - pining and hurt/comfort in particular are fantastic - but I do generally like things to end happily.  

I would prefer it if you stayed away from first-person narration, please - with the exception of any epistolatory fic.

I’m the opposite of picky when it comes to AUs - pretty much anything you can cook up, I’ll eat with a spoon. I’m always up for a good, classic, high school AU, though. Or pirates. Or tattoo artists. Or medieval-era knight/noblewoman. Or florists. Or assassins. Seriously, I’ll get into anything except teacher/student.

Xena/Gabrielle

General

These two are my EVERYTHING, if you’re here for them, thank you, I am thrilled.

When you get right down to it, the early seasons are my jam. I much prefer the lighthearted adventuring-with-the-gal-pal vibe to the more epic arcs. That being said, I’m not opposed to work that deals with the heavier plot lines - I am very okay with pretending the whole Hope storyline never happened, though.

Art

Honestly, I’m still mourning Gabrielle’s long hair and staff, so if you don’t really have a preference, I’d prefer it if we could just pretend that her look never changed. That being said, if you prefer drawing her with the short hair/knives, please do go for it, it’s not that big a deal for me, I like her both ways!

When it comes to art, I would probably prefer canon!verse. However, I do love AUs, so if you have an idea for one, please go nuts!

I have such a weakness for height difference things - Gabrielle getting up on her toes to kiss Xena, and things of that nature absolutely slay me.  

If you’re feeling particularly fluffy, cold weather things/Solstice celebrations are amazing

Fic

Both canonverse and AUs are awesome for these two!

When it comes to canonverse, I’m big on little slice-of-life things. I love their little guessing games and prank wars and on-the-road domesticity with all my heart, so including these is a good way to make me very happy.

When Fates Collide-esque playwright/empress.

When it comes to these two, hurt/comfort is my drug.

Co-mothering, either Eve or some original character.

Archaeologist AU - oh wait...

Janice Covington/Melinda Pappas

I’ve afraid I’ve got much much less for you with these two, what with them only being around for one episode and all - if you’re here for them, thank you so so so so much for giving them much-needed content, I can’t wait to see it! 

Here’s the dynamic I like for them: Archaeology adventures. Sneaking around and making out on dig sites. Bickering about their findings. Dancing to era-accurate love songs in their tent. Going from being allies by circumstance to being friends to being the power couple of their field.

Susan Ivanova/Talia Winters

General

I did not expect to fall so hard for them, I was ready to weep when Talia left, that was one brutal parting conversation - there’s not nearly enough out there for them, so if you’re here for them, thank you so much for helping fix that, I can’t wait to see it!

I’m actually kind of an angst slut with these two, which is a little out of character for me.

Fix-its are great, but I’m also 100% down for “I am very sad because my telepath girlfriend turned out to be a traitor and more or less died/may have been lying to me all along”. 

Art

Maybe something sad, like Susan sitting alone after Talia’s gone, looking at an old picture or otherwise torturing herself.

Or, then again, maybe something happy - like them going on their first date, or a reunion.

Fic

I’d prefer to see these two in canonverse, or maybe canon-related AUs.

We basically only saw the end of their relationship, I’d love to see how they managed to get together. Like, what the hell happened that made Susan okay with being with a telepath? Who fell first? Did it just sort of happen, or did one of them chase the other?

I’d also be interested to see a story about how they handle the aftermath of the ending. Does Talia even care on any level? How does Susan grieve? 

As mentioned above, fix-its are totally welcome, too.

Peggy Carter/Angie Martinelli

General

MY VINTAGE GAL PALS - if you’re here for them, thank you, I am so excited.

I really love them in canonverse - I’m not opposed to AUs, I really do love AUs in general, but if you have no preference, canonverse would be amazing.

Art

I’d love to see them making heart-eyes at the diner, especially Angie totally blowing off her actual job to make said heart-eyes.

I’d also love to see them sneaking around the Griffith, maybe hiding (and getting caught?) fooling around in a broom closet, or discreetly holding hands or touching thighs or playing footsie underneath the table. 

Or maybe they’re just finally getting around to sharing that pie and schnapps. Anything domestic and romantic like that, and I am in.

Fic

Any of the above art suggestions but in fic form would absolutely do it for me.

I’m a big fan of Peggy telling Angie what she does for a living, and Angie being so into it. 

I am also a big fan of their adventures in their new fancy house.

I feel like there’s a lot of potential with Angie landing a part in a play, and Peggy helping her run lines (bonus points of it’s a romantic scene)

Angie somehow helping with one of Peggy’s operations would be a lot of fun, too! 

Ginny/Luna

General

Ginny and Luna are sort of a new thing for me, but I’m just loving it! So, if you’re here for them, thank you, I am very excited to see what’s in store! 

I would prefer canonverse for these two. Post-war works, but I would much prefer it while they’re still at Hogwarts, but of course, that’s only a suggestion!

Art

I’d love to see Ginny hanging out with (and making heart-eyes at) Luna in the Ravenclaw common room, or Luna doing the same with Ginny in the Gryffindor common room.

Study dates in the library are my kryptonite
