I was thinking about Homestuck and I remembered it starting out with some complete nonsense about John climbing the tallest mountain in the world and then jumping off of it. So I went back to read it to see if that was true, and it totally was. The opening pages were of John messaging Rose from his phone about his ascent up the mountain, complete with an animation of the mountain being drawn by the square tool from ms paint: stacking more and more long skinny rectangles on top of each other above some clouds as John continues to climb. Once the mountain was so far above the clouds that John was literally within arm's reach of the moon (although I don't remember if he had arms in this alternate beginning) he jumped and fell into the ocean, then immediately waded up onto the shore where he met Rose.
