avan jogia ? no, sadly, that’s just wesley rutherford, aka @rfwes on tik tok. the twenty five year old has been in los angeles for ten years. management says that they need to be more excited & outgoing in front of the cameras because they’re too withdrawn & shy, even when the mic’s on. apparently they were brought on because they want to be an actor, but we know what that’s like in this town. ━━ 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐡𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐨 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲𝐨𝐧𝐞!! im kay, and im so excited to be back to rping after finals!! good news, i got all a’s this semester and am looking forward to graduating after next semester, which starts in august!

wesley grew up around actors. his uncle and aunt, james and ruby salis, starred in a big blockbuster hit ‘the merryweathers’, and his mother was the lead female in a horror movie that made thousands at the box office. his father directed here and there, but never got into the acting world as quickly as his wife.

as an only child, wes was spoiled beyond belief. his parents were certainly surprised that he wasn’t as greedy and money-loving as they expected, however, but it was a pleasant surprise.

it wasn’t until he graduated middle school and started high school that he discovered that he was gay. he had always convinced himself that he liked girls, even attempting to date a couple girls throughout middle school, but he had become sure of his sexuality when he walked into high school and realized that most of the guys in there were hot.

he got into a relationship in his sophomore year with a junior guy named chase weathersby, a middle-class guy that was in the closet because of his football team and strictly religious parents. wesley knew the pain of having to hide your true self, as he was also in the closet at the time due to worries about ruining his family’s image as the only gay person in their family. things with chase ended on extremely bad terms, after false accusations from other students of wes planning to out him during homecoming.

after graduating high school, he took a break from college and, to help cope with his family’s move from their home in oklahoma to los angeles, california, began making videos on tik tok, a popular video app that let you make fifteen- or sixty-second videos and use ‘sounds’ to lip sync to. his first video gained him a hundred followers overnight, and it took off from there. of course, there were the haters who wes was sure were secretly jealous of him because he became such a big hit in one night. he continued posting creative videos on the app to keep his followers happy.

he met the love of his life, evan crawford, on that same site, and a couple of his and evan’s followers sought to get them together. pretty soon, they were able to meet up in a local convention in los angeles and announced in a sixty-second tik tok post that they were a couple. their followers reacted with glee and excitement for the happy pair.

it wasn’t until they were dating for two years, and wes gained a couple more followers, that he received an email from starview talent, stating that they wanted him to join starview at their headquarters. he signed on with an agent, and evan was happy for his boyfriend, but they broke up before wes moved away. it was a difficult breakup because they were so in love, and their tik tok followers were devastated, but most luckily took the split of their favorite couple in stride and congratulated wesley on his announcement.
