Mike can't actually live his life like a normal person. He has a constant need for action and conflict - the only way he can live his life is to survive it. Literally. He's a soldier, an instrument of violence, and being anything but that genuinely makes him miserable.

You and I go hard at each other Like we're going to war You and I go rough, we keep throwing things And slamming the door You and I get so damn dysfunctional We stopped keeping score You and I get sick, yeah I know that we can't do this no more
Yeah, but baby there you go again There you go again, making me love you. Yeah, I stopped using my head Using my head, let it all go Got you stuck on my body On my body, like a tattoo And now I'm feeling stupid Feeling stupid, crawling back to you
So I cross my heart and I hope to die That I'll only stay with you one more night And I know I said it a million times But I'll only stay with you one more night
Try to tell you "no" But my body keeps on telling you "yes" Try to tell you "stop" But your lipstick's got me so out of breath I'll be waking up in the morning Probably hating myself And I'll be waking up Feeling satisfied but guilty as hell
Yeah, but baby there you go again There you go again, making me love you Yeah, I stopped using my head Using my head, let it all go Got you stuck on my body On my body, like a tattoo And now I'm feeling stupid Feeling stupid, crawling back to you
So I cross my heart and I hope to die That I'll only stay with you one more night And I know I said it a million times But I'll only stay with you one more night
Yeah, baby, give me one more night Yeah, baby, give me one more night (whoa, yeah) Yeah, baby, give me one more night (oh, yeah, yeah)
Yeah, but baby there you go again There you go again, making me love you Yeah, I stopped using my head Using my head, let it all go Got you stuck on my body On my body like a tattoo Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
So I cross my heart and I hope to die That I'll only stay with you one more night And I know I said it a million times But I'll only stay with you one more night
So I cross my heart and I hope to die That I'll only stay with you one more night And I know I said it a million times But I'll only stay with you one more night
I don't know, whatever

paterson, usa (april 1, 2004)
The warehouse was partially empty, though large gantry and scaffolding was littered around the large open space. It no longer belonged to anyone any more, after the company that had had gone bankrupt. In the back, however, large pieces of tarp hung from parts of the gantry and scaffolding scavenged to make a make-shift curtain around the scene that was unfolding inside the would-be room.
Tomo smiled at the woman strapped to the chair, whose chest was heaving with laboured breath, fear evident in her entire being. “Did you ever think your husband’s line of work would pay a price?” he asked her, his voice kind and calm as he slowly circled the chair, and the woman. Her name was Amelia Grimes, and for all intents and purposes, she had absolutely nothing to do with anything that ever happened in Tomo’s life. No, Amelia was simply married to the wrong person.
Eight years ago, her husband, Lloyd Grimes, sentenced a Chechen armsdealer to a supermax for life, without a chance of parole, for aiding terrorists and crimes against humanity. Doing so, he’d left a twelve-year-old boy parentless and alone. But nobody cared about that. The judge sure didn’t. And neither did his wife, at the time. Now, however, Amelia did care. Tomo chuckled quietly. Or she should care.
All she had uttered so far were pleas for help and mercy, requests to be let go, attempts to change his mind by offering him wealth and material gain. Tomo wasn’t interested in any of those things. Nothing she could give him would satisfy him. Well, not nothing.
“We’re going to play a little game, princess. Okay? Do you like games?” Tomo asked, his voice lowered as he leaned over her shoulder, kissing her ear lightly. Amelia didn’t respond, safe for the whimper that escaped her. “There is one thing I would really like to hear you say. And if you say it, I’m going to let you go, just like that. Would you like that?” The question was replied to with quick nodding, and a bit of hope returning into the woman’s eyes. “Okay. But, for every wrong, answer, I will cut off one of your fingers.”
“Wh-what?” She looked at him as best she could, and her hands clenched, possibly out of anticipation, or maybe due to something else. Tomo didn’t know. Tomo didn’t care.
“Don’t worry, this game is very easy. Now, go.” Tomo walked around the chair to face her again, picking up a scalpel from the portable table next to the chair on his way, and waited.
All the woman could do was look at the scalpel as she thought of something to say, but instead, more tears rolled down her already damp cheeks. “I don’t know! I don’t know what you want me to say! Please, just let me go! You don’t have to do this!”
Without another word, Tomo grabbed the pinky finger of her left hand and cut it off just above the knuckle, eliciting a scream of pain from the woman. “Wrong. Try again.”
It took her whole left hand until she finally shook her head, agony written all over her face. “I’m sorry! I’m sorry! Please! Please, I’m sorry!” Tomo had been lining the pinky of her right hand up to cut it off just like he had done with all of her fingers of her left hand, when he raised his head, pausing.
“You’re sorry?” He raised his eyebrows slowly, watching her closely. “You’re sorry for what?”
“I’m sorry for everything! Everything! I swear, I’m so sorry!”
Tomo shook his head lightly, holding her chin a bit. “No. No. Be specific, princess. What are you sorry for?”
“I-I’m sorry… for… I’m sorry for what my husband did. I swear, I didn’t know, I didn’t— I’m so sorry!”
“You didn’t know that it would come back to haunt you?” Tomo laughed. “I know you’re not really sorry for that, you’re just sorry for yourself, that you found yourself to be in this situation.” He put the scalpel down.“Doesn’t matter. I told you I would let you go.”
“Thank you! Thank you! I won’t tell anyone! I promise!”
“I know you won’t, princess,” Tomo chuckled. He slowly moved around the chair again and let the back of it recline, so she was almost in a horizontal position. Ignoring Amelia’s babbling, Tomo pulled on some thick leather gloves, and safety goggles, humming as he picked up a glass jar of colourless liquid, moving back to the woman in the chair. “Amelia. Amelia, look at me.”
She quieted down, looking him in the eyes, that lovely fear etched into her features, that fear that showed him he’d won. Again. He just stared down at her, before pouring the sulfuric acid into her eyes, moving back to let it do it’s work. Ignoring to unholy screams behind him as the acid ate away at the woman’s eyes, Tomo picked up a glass jar with murky white liquid, and turned back again, just watching with an impassive face. After several seconds, he pours the concentrated hard water onto Amelia’s mutilated face to neutralise the acid, and looked at his handy work for a moment.
Setting the glass jar on the portable table, Tomo pulled off the leather gloves and picked up the scalpel again, making Amelia open her mouth. The woman was hysterical, but it was an easy enough task to grasp her tongue and cut it off with little effort. Grabbing needle and thread, he whistled as he sewed her mouth shut, kissing her ear when he finished. “I don’t like to kiss and tell, sweetheart.”
Two hours later, the local hospital would find the horribly mutilated woman unconscious in the parking lot.

king alexander head-canon
King often makes really weird connections. Or maybe not weird, but... His brain works very fast. So while it does work linear inside his noggin' (A-B-C-D-E-F-G-Green-Grass-Flowers-Girls), when it comes out, he forgets to add all the in-between steps, and what you'll get is A-Green-Girls. This makes him very confusing to talk to.

All the anons complaining to Jen (dirty-rascals) about the romantic availability of her characters - go suck a dick, will you?
Role-playing is just as little about romance as real life is. Do you only interact with people to gain some sort of romantic relationship with that person? In your actual life, do you not have friends for whom you do not have romantic feelings, and never will, friends whom you started interacting with not with the goal to achieve some romantic relationship, but simply because you wanted to get to know them, or got along with them well?
Some people are harder to get along with than others, other people have a thick, concrete wall put up around themselves that you have to break through. And sometimes, you can't break through them. So please don't start complaining to a person about how emotionally unavailable their characters are, just because you want to get a quick romantic fix. Are you really that swallow a person, that all you want from other people's characters is romance? What happened to friendship? What happened to enemies? You look around your environment and count how many people you are indifferent to.
If you really want to plot with a seemingly unavailable character, work for it, like you work for stuff in real life. Don't expect relationships to fall out of the sky, human interaction simply doesn't work like that.
Tl;dr: get your head out of your arse and give yourself a bloody reality check.
Good evening.

king alexander head-canon
King is really quite intelligent, even though it might not always show. He's not the best student, but an exceptional autodidact, because it's very hard for him to motivate himself when the interest's not there. When it is, trust that he'll make himself an expert in it. Until he gets bored again and moves on.

king alexander head-canon
Unconsciously, King expects to be replaced in every relationship he's in. He's been abandoned and abused in emotional and physical ways most of his life, and so he doesn't take a good thing for granted, especially because he knows sooner or later, it's going to go away again.

Weekends on young and angry streets We meet, drink 'till trouble found us there Living life as without a care We've had our fights, been black and blue It's true, I've even gone to jail for you my friends Bet your life that I'd do it again
(Until the End)
Don't change the way you think of me We're from the same story Life moves on, can't stay the same For some of us, I'm worried, yeah
While some have gone their separate ways There's some still caught up with the past And stead to move on, you're missing most of your life They say it's hard to stay the same When some fail, while other men seem to gain, but friends I'll be with you here until the end
(Until the End)
Don't change the way you think of me We're from the same story Life moves on, can't stay the same For some of us, I'm worried
We're all falling forward With no signs of slow Some moving faster That's all that I wanted I wanted
I know it's hard It's passing by Memories Be out all night So reminisce won't bring you back Just look ahead and hold on tight
We're all falling forward With no signs of slow Some moving faster That's all that I wanted I wanted
Don't change the way you think of me Oh yeah
Until the end Until the end Until the end Until the end

If you love somebody Better tell them while they’re here ’cause They just may run away from you
You’ll never know what went well Then again it just depends on How long of time is left for you
I’ve had the highest mountains I’ve had the deepest rivers You can have it all but life keeps moving
Now take it in but don’t look down
‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay I’m on top of the world, ‘ay Waiting on this for a while now Paying my dues to the dirt I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay Take it with me if I can Been dreaming of this since a child I’m on top of the world
I’ve tried to cut these corners Try to take the easy way out I kept on falling short of something
I coulda gave up then but Then again I couldn’t have ’cause I’ve travelled all this way for something
Now take it in but don’t look down
‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay I’m on top of the world, ‘ay Waiting on this for a while now Paying my dues to the dirt I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay Take it with me if I can Been dreaming of this since a child I’m on top of the world
‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay I’m on top of the world, ‘ay Waiting on this for a while now Paying my dues to the dirt I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay Take it with me if I can Been dreaming of this since a child
And I know it’s hard when you’re falling down And it’s a long way up when you hit the ground Get up now, get up, get up now
And I know it’s hard when you’re falling down And it’s a long way up when you hit the ground Get up now, get up, get up now
‘Cause I’m on top of the world, ‘ay I’m on top of the world, ‘ay Waiting on this for a while now Paying my dues to the dirt I’ve been waiting to smile, ‘ay Been holding it in for a while, ‘ay Take it with me if I can Been dreaming of this since a child I’m on top of the world

To the left To the left
To the left To the left
Mmmm, to the left, to the left Everything you own in the box to the left In the closet, that's my stuff Yes, if I bought it, baby Please don't touch
And keep talking that mess, that's fine Could you walk and talk, at the same time? And it's my name that's on that Jag So go move your bags, let me call you a cab
Standing in the front yard, telling me How I'm such a fool, talking 'bout How I'll never ever find a man like you You got me twisted
You must not know 'bout me You must not know 'bout me I can have another you in a minute Matter fact, he'll be here in a minute
You must not know 'bout me You must not know 'bout me I can have another you by tomorrow So don't you ever for a second get to thinkin' You're irreplaceable
So go ahead and get gone Call up that chick, and see if she's home Oops, I bet you thought, that I didn't know What did you think I was putting you out for? Because you was untrue Rolling her around in the car that I bought you Baby, drop them keys Hurry up, before your taxi leaves
Standing in the front yard, telling me How I'm such a fool, talking 'bout How I'll never ever find a man like you You got me twisted
You must not know 'bout me You must not know 'bout me I can have another you in a minute Matter fact, he'll be here in a minute
You must not know 'bout me You must not know 'bout me I will have another you by tomorrow So don't you ever for a second get to thinkin' You're irreplaceable
So since I'm not your everything How about I'll be nothing, nothing at all to you Baby, I won't shed a tear for you I won't lose a wink of sleep 'Cause the truth of the matter is Replacing you is so easy
To the left, to the left To the left, to the left To the left, to the left Everything you own in the box to the left
To the left, to the left Don't you ever for a second get to thinking You're irreplaceable
You must not know 'bout me You must not know 'bout me I can have another you in a minute Matter fact, he'll be here in a minute
You must not know 'bout me You must not know 'bout me I can have another you by tomorrow So don't you ever for a second get to thinkin'
You must not know 'bout me You must not know 'bout me I can have another you in a minute Matter fact, he'll be here in a minute
You can pack all your bags we're finished 'Cause you made your bed, now lay in it I could have another you by tomorrow Don't you ever for a second get to thinkin' You're irreplaceable
