Don't forget, tomorrow 8/18 is "Meet the Hollywoods" by CicLAvia presented by Metro Los Angeles from 9 AM to 4 PM! NEW #WEHO BUSINESS SEEKING LOCAL ARTISTS!!! The Artist Tree is seeking art submissions from local artists for its upcoming West Hollywood art gallery and cannabis store. The Artist Tree is an immersive experience, uniquely combining cannabis with art exploration. The flagship location in the heart of West Hollywood is expected to see 500+ guests per day. The store includes mural walls, freestanding easels, and wall displays to showcase a wide variety of art forms. The goal is to create a communal space where guests come to engage with So Cal's vibrant art community. They are looking for a wide variety of artwork to spark creativity and discussion. Ideal submissions include provocative art that will stimulate conversation, and social media worthy art. They are scheduled to open this October. The Details: • All art displayed at our location will be offered for sale. • 100% of net proceeds will go artists. • All mediums and sizes are welcome (except for video art, for now). • Submission deadline is September 15, 2019. • The Artist Tree will cover all costs associated with installation of art at the space. • The store is located at 8625 Santa Monica Boulevard. Come hear from emerging LGBTQ writers! On 8/8 at 7 PM, we'll be hosting a reading by fellows of the @lambdaliterary Writers Retreat for Emerging LGBTQ Voices. This reading will highlight the work of this year's retreat fellows who will read from writings work-shopped at the retreat. Established in 2007, the Retreat is the first of its kind ever offered to LGBTQ writers: a one-week intensive immersion in fiction, nonfiction, poetry, genre fiction and playwriting. The reading was produced and directed by Michael Shepperd of @celebrationthtr, LA's oldest LGBTQ theatre founded in 1982.
