ARGH okay so it's time for the TMNT AU Competition again but of course it happens right when my personal life gets like super busy :,) I'm gonna try to be as active for this as possible cause this comeptition is a lot of fun but hhhhh well we'll see how it goes

Anyway, the theme for the first round is high fantasy, and since I just finished the 5th book of The Stormlight Archive series I'm in a big Stormlight mood right now, so I decided to put TSAU April and Donnie in Alethi clothes. Maybe choosing a more widely recognizable fantasy story would be better for the sake of propaganda, but well that's on ya'll for not having read Stormlight yet 🫵

This is the part where I tell you that you guys should totally vote for my AU in the upcoming round, BUT I just saw that my first opponent, vangh17a with their Wanderer AU, drew their Donnie in Link's outfit from Legend of Zelda and MAN I do love Zelda so maybe you guys should vote for them or something I dunno 🤷‍♀️

April grabs onto Mayhem, lightly bonking him on the head. "Bad cat! I'm so sorry about Piebald, I didn't expect there to be a fish around here- we best get going, I'm looking around for my little brother anyways-"

Leo is grinning from ear to ear, his arms ready to take the weird cat. "Absolutely! I've been looking for a reason to kick out Piebald!"

Raph and Mikey gasp in horror at the thought of replacing Piebald. Mikey jabs a finger toward Leo, "HOW DARE YOU?! PIEBALD IS JUST AS IMPORTANT AS EVERYONE ON THIS TEAM." Raph holds Piebald close to his chest, affectionately patting her head with his pinkie. "Don't listen to this fool, girl. I would never let them replace you."

Without warning, Piebald takes off, darting toward Leo with surprising speed. The hummingbird-sized menace begins pecking at Leo’s bald head, leaving him momentarily startled before he swats her away. Leo starts running around, but Piebald is hot on his trail. Mikey and Raph cheer her on to get his sorry ass.

Leo seemingly trips on air, landing flat on his back. Piebald lands right between his eyes, pure malice in hers. "HERMANO MÍO, AYUDA!" Leo cries out, but it falls on deaf ears.

Donnie is too busy scratching the chin of this interesting specimen, a small smile on his face. "What's this little guy's name?" April flinches as she hears Leo's yelps of pain. "Um, are you not going to help Leo out?"

Donnie gives a quick glance toward Leo. He's been harassed by the rest of the group for even suggesting they get rid of Piebald. He waves his hand dismissively. "This isn't about him."

April stares at him for a few seconds before shrugging. Honestly, this is pretty in character for them, even if they're not her brothers. She offers Mayhem to Donnie. "Anyway, thanks for the alliance." Mayhem settles in Donnie's arms, purring softly. Donnie looks down at the cat, his eyes dilating. "As promised, here's—"

Mayhem sees Piebald from the corner of his eye, his pupils turning into slits. He jumps out of Donnie's grasp and sprints right toward Piebald. The duo doesn't even realize where Mayhem is going before it's too late! April pleads with her cat, "MAYHEM, NO!"

Panic erupts among the others as they grasp the unfolding chaos. With a burst of determination, Mikey lunges for Mayhem, “Oh, no, you don’t!”. But Mayhem, with a swift and clever twist, evades his grasp, sending Mikey tumbling face-first into a patch of grass, mouthful and all.

Raph quickly positions himself in front of Mayhem, arms outstretched to grab the mischievous rascal. However, he doesn’t anticipate that Mayhem will simply dash underneath him. Piebald freezes in fear as she sees Mayhem lunging directly toward her.

Despite himself, Leo can't stand to let Piebald meet such a cliche fate. Leo twirls his dagger with a sigh, slicing through the air. A portal snaps open above April, and Mayhem plops onto her head with a disgruntled meow.

Everyone stares at Leo, feeling a mix of shock and relief as he puts his dagger away. Leo notices everyone stares, an annoyed huff leaving his lips. "Just because I can't stand Piebald doesn’t mean I want to see her turned into a cat toy. I’m petty, not heartless."

I adore the idea of Leo developing a love for glam rock not only because he likes the music but also because of how many glam rock bands had vibrant and extravagant eye makeup - looks that his own red stripes were right at home with.

I like to imagine Raph would be too paranoid to ever take the battle shell off, no matter how unfamiliar he is with using it. Thanks to this mind swap nonsense, he’s slowly starting to realize why Donnie has struggled to separate himself from his tech, both physically and psychologically…

Also yes Raph hurt his hand because he forgot he can’t just punch walls when he’s upset anymore
