does this darkness have a name? this cruelty, this hatredhow did it find us did it steal into our lives or did we seek it out and embrace it?what happened to us that we now send our children into the world like we send young men to war hoping for their safe return but knowing some will be lost along the waywhen did we lose our way? consumed by the shadows swallowed whole by the darkness does this darkness have a name...is it your name?

so i’ve just lost an important friend and plot from this rp (she’s leaving so thanks for that) because there's a severe lack of understanding nor recognition of when someone has said or done the wrong thing so i'm just gonna head off just now and start my hiatus early (which was sent to the main hours ago), and it’s incredibly shitty to post saying that people need to learn how to distinguish between roleplay and reality then turn around and say that they said no such thing, but anyway; i have no brain power to focus on this anymore - i'll be around in the ims since this account is logged in on my phone so i'll still be around occasionally (if i don't get kicked out) so as always, my messages are open for plotting or for talks if anyone is interested

faeriezone:
Holding his hand, she cherished the familiar feeling, knowing she was only catching Clay in one of his rare but vulnerable moments. “Self-control isn’t exactly his strong suit. Plus, he’s always angry about everything,” she shrugged, not knowing how else to justify what River did. Her hand falling to her side, all she could do was give him a concerned frown. “Clay, don’t do anything stupid. Promise me you won’t?” A small part of her was worried that he might end up doing something he would regret or somehow end up needing medical attention in the same way she did. And while she did have better healing from being a mutant and half demon, Clay was just pure human, a disadvantage when it came to injuries from River. Confusion flooded her features as she could have sworn she heard him refer to her as his girl. She had a small debate on whether or not she would comment on it and as usual, her impulsion outweighed her logic. “Did you just refer to me as your girl?”
╰ ☢ ➽ “stop,” clay interrupted. the fact that she was somehow trying to defend river howlett's actions pissed him off. he couldn't understand - and wouldn't - why she was even bothering. he hurt her, that was enough of a reason to hate him with every fibre of her being. “i don't fucking care if he's the queen of england,” he clenched his jaw. “stop making excuses for him and look at your fucking face. that's not losing control, that's making a conscious decision to tear up someone's fucking face just because they fucking can, why can't you understand that? why are you defending him? i'm angry -- i'm always fucking angry, but do you see me ripping people up just because they made a joke? you all think i'm the bad guy when there's one right under your fucking noses.” he slowly peeled his hand away from hers and rose from the bed. “his anger is not your fucking fault and if you think that his actions are your fault then maybe he did more damage to your head than you fucking realised.” the older barton began to pace the floor again as he allowed her words to fall upon deaf ears. she may be able to excuse his behaviour but clay wasn't about to which meant that was not a promise he could make -- and wouldn't make. river could rip him to shreds and he wouldn't care, but at least he'd go out knowing he stood up for one of the few things that he cared about. “i'm not going to stand here and listen to you defend a fucking MONSTER,” clay practically spat. running both hands through the back of his tangled mess of curls, clay took a deep breath in an attempt to calm himself before turning to face her, an eyebrow arching at her question, though no response came out of his mouth. he remained silent, still reeling from his outburst moments before. “i’m done listening to you defend him.”

“If you say so,” she shrugged, dropping the topic. Enjoying the sensation of once again having his hand in hers, she couldn’t help but long for the days when they would fiddle around with each other hands, palms pressed against the others while they laid in bed. Those days felt like a lifetime ago, one that she would do almost anything to get back. “I would like to point out that I tried to drown him after he went all slice and dice on me and that the only reason why we got to that point was because I had jokingly restrained him.” The whole situation sounded ridiculous to her now that she was saying it aloud but there was nothing she could do to change the past. Wincing as his fingers brushed again the marks, Arizona shrugged, a sigh escaping her lips. “They shouldn’t be but at the same time no one really knows. We’re just playing the waiting game, I guess.”
╰ ☢ ➽ “i do say so,” he nodded, laying that particular conversation to rest. in the silence that enveloped them, clay's thumb came to a rest and his fingertips slowly pressed into the spaces between arizona's digits -- it had been a long time since the last time their hands had joined in such a manner; he could remember vividly how each small touch would send electricity throughout his entire body, but now? not everything was dulled and he had no idea how he felt. the one thing he did know was that she was seated in front of him with her face torn up and half her body burned, and that was enough for him to break his walls a little so that he could at least try and comfort her. “so he went fruit ninja on your face because you made a fucking joke?” he growled. “that's not a good enough fucking reason. in fact, it's a perfect reason why i should teach him a lesson.” his eyes faltered in holding her gaze so he dropped them down to their hands and exhaled slowly. the heart rate monitor built into his watch was probably off the charts at this point in time. “no one gets away with marking my girl.”

“You have to admit, it kinda was,” she mused. Sure, it was a little more on the darker side of things but it still had its own weird sense of humor. Staring at their hands, Arizona was silent as she tried to think of a reply. A small part of her wanted him to go out and rip him to shreds but the other part of her didn’t think it was worth it. River had trusted her with a secret and in a moment of wounded pride, Arizona had used that against him. “Because I almost killed him. Drown him, I mean. I knew he was petrified of water so I dangled him above it until I decided to just submerge him.”
╰ ☢ ➽ “i'm not admitting anything,” clay quipped. his thumb began to rub arches across the side of arizona's hand. they might not be as close as they once were, but a part of him had never given her up -- even when she had him. he absolutely hated the fact that he kept running in her direction as soon as things went south. still, there wasn't much he could do about it and, quite frankly, did he even want that part of his life to change? “have you looked at yourself in the mirror? you didn't try hard e-fucking-nough,” clay retorted. while had never gone as far as killing someone before, if he had been in her position he was more than sure that that streak would end. “good to know,” clay then replied, mentally storing that information to be explored at a later date. “these marks, are they...” he tentatively reached up and brushed his fingers against the wounds, “permanent?”

faeriezone:
To say she felt uncomfortable was an understatement. Shifting under his gaze, she looked everywhere but at him, feeling guilty for what she did to River despite what he had done in return. “I’ll be sure to remember that the next time I’m on fire.” He didn’t deserve her sarcastic reply but she also couldn’t help but be both surprised and confused that he still wanted to be updated about her well-being. Moving her good hand to cover his now clenched one, Arizona just shook her head, a sad smile on her face. “Don’t do that,” she whispered, her voice softening. “I’ve done enough damage to him as is.”
╰ ☢ ➽ “that's not funny,” clay glared at her, though the corner of his lips twitched as a smirk threatened to break the tension of his features. with her hand now enveloping his, clay could only frown in confusion. he was angry -- beyond angry, in fact -- yet there was something else; something churning in the pit of his stomach that kept him stuck in that spot. “give me one good reason why i shouldn't rip him to shreds,” clay spoke, his voice equalling hers in volume. “he's going to fucking pay.”

“Sorry that I was curious about what would happen. It’s not like my mom made it a point to say it would harm me.” Which although true, Shiklah on her part did keep Arizona from coming in contact with it. “Next time we’ll make sure not to contact you. We wouldn’t want to inconvenience your day,” she replied bitterly. As he cupped her chin, she mentally prepared herself for another lecture. She found the whole situation ironic. It was usually Clay sporting injuries with Arizona asking the questions but for once their roles were reversed. “No shit,” she muttered, her eyes once again rolling. “Who else has the ability to claw at someone’s face.”
╰ ☢ ➽ her apology fell upon deaf ears as the male hyper focused on the markings that stretched across the blonde's face. “next time you'll contact me first,” he corrected her. inconvenience or not, clay had already gone an entire year without so much as one word from her, and he was in no way inclined to have a repeat of that. when she confirmed his unspoken suspicions, his hand dropped from her fast as fingers curled in, causing his knuckles to go stark white from the forced clenching. “i'm going to murder him.”

“Because it’s the only thing that can put out hellfire,” she stated as if it were obvious. Granted, not everyone knew about that little detail, let alone experienced the extent of how bad the fire itself could be. Watching him rant, Arizona just sat there, figuring it would be best for him to get it all out. However at the mention of her actions being called dumb, the blonde’s head snapped up, brown eyes defiantly looking staring at him, narrowed into a glare. “I’m sorry no one informed me about the consequences of holy water. Although you shouldn’t be surprised if I’m already dumb enough to get behind a wheel.” Sure her racing escapades weren’t the brightest nor safest idea but it was something she wasn’t planning on stopping, with or without the support of Clay.
╰ ☢ ➽ “so logic dictates that you should fucking play with it - typical,” clay retorted. “how the hell am i supposed to focus at work when this is happening over here? so much for this place cultivating smart students.” in his mind, this entire thing was a joke. scions was a joke. when her head shot up, clay's jaw threatened to shatter as it clenched. his hand reached out and cupped her chin, moving the blonde's head side to side as he looked at those particular injuries. “this was not fucking holy water.” he didn't bother wasting his time on asking how it happened, it was clear what had occured. the older barton just needed to know who it was so that he could deal with it himself. “who did this?”

adrianabarton:
Adriana had been trying to catch the other’s attention for a while. But whatever she had been doing, it wasn’t working. Deciding to go for a different approach, she grabbed a few chewing gum from her pocket and starterd throwing them at the other. The first one landed square in their head. “Opps.” A small smile appeared on her face. “You have paper toilet in your shoe,” she whispered so anyone else would hear her.
╰ ☢ ➽ with his eyes glued to his phone, clay was practically oblivious to his sister's actions until something landed in his curls. reaching up, he tugged the offending object from the strands and tossed it back at the culprit. “bit impossible considering i haven't taken a fucking piss today,” he made a face at her.
