The singer ducked her head at his warning. She did indeed know, not first hand, but tales from others painted her a clear picture.

"Perhaps they do." Shira nodded in agreement, her grinning face turning back to the sands before them.

It was silent once again as they trudged up another dune. Cresting the top, Shira scanned the horizon. In the distance, a group of ruins rose from the sands, a group of ruins she recognized. She let out a pleased chirp.

"Ah! We are nearly there!" The girl exclaimed happily, going forward to slide down the sandy slope.

"The snow?" Shira breathed, looking toward the twin peaks in the distance. The swirling clouds farther down the mountain hid the snow covered slopes. That would be quite the trek.

"Ah, they must be important for you to travel all that way." Shira nodded. When Mes returned her question, the small singer glanced away for a moment, hesitating to share her own answer. "I actually got turned around." She admitted with an embarrassed laugh. “I was on my way back to my home when I was found by a pod of cloth creatures. They were just so cheery with their songs I could not help but to join in and follow them for a distance.” Shira looked off to the sea of sand surrounding them. “Once I broke off from their group I realized I had traveled much farther than I had originally planned.” Turning back with a smile, she gave her companion a nod. ”Though if I had not, I would not have come across you.”

(( *crawls out from under a rock* oh hey. Oops I took an unexpected break and now I'm back and writing replies. Very, very sorry about that! On another note I'm getting back into drawing and actually enjoying myself again. I'll be slow to getting back into regularly updating due to a few upcoming events but I am determined to continue Shiras story. I actually haven't logged on here for a while so after I'm done with replies I'll have to go back through all the posts and see what I've missed. <3 ))

Walking along, Shira occasionally glanced up at her companion. She debated on saying something to him, but was not quite sure what to speak of. While she was curious about the man, the thought of spilling out a string of questions on him was probably quite rude. He did not seem to notice her glances though, continuing to gaze forward as they made their way across the sands.

Instead of going through the list of questions she would have asked, Shira turned her attention back to the space landscape before her. He must be used to silence. She did not mind though, she enjoyed just having someone to walk with. Though she did begin to drift as they walked, gravitating toward the man before righting her steps before she could bump into him.

At the peak of each dune, the small singer frequently slowed or stopped completely. Each time, getting her bearings and checking landmarks before continuing forward. 

"Ahh, Mes.." Shira finally spoke up, tilting her head toward the man. Her curiosity was getting the better of her. "What brought you out to this part of the desert?"

Srimhet had them stay just for her? ( There was no need to- ) Shira began, trying to word her shock. Staring at the smiling girl, a smile of her own grew. ( I mean, thank you. Thank you very much. )

As Srimhet continued, Shira settled back, bringing the cup of tea to her nose. Inhaling the herbal scent, she nodded along as her friend spoke of all the places in her travels. ( I would one day love to travel to all these places you speak of. ) Shira sighed, taking a sip from her cup. ( I am not one to travel long distances into unknown territory, not by myself anyways. ) She laughed.

One day, she thought to herself, one day she would go out and venture the far ruins herself.

Hearing her friend begin to tap out a rhythm, Shiras attention was brought back to the girl.

( Music? ) Yes of course she loved it! Nearly stumbling over her own tongue, Shira responded, nodding enthusiastically. ( Oh yes, I adore it! Ahh, instruments, voices and songs of all kinds. ) Shira set down her cup, closing her eyes with a smile.

Smiling, she refilled Shira’s empty cup and nodded, //It’s one of the reasons we stayed so long in this area. I wanted to be sure that you saw it since I am not able to enjoy it fully.//

Thinking on Shira’s question, she shrugged, //In this specific site? I’d have to say a month or two? I’m not so good with time and dates.// she winced at the confession, //And not so much on my own. Well. Yes and no to be honest. Chewrip and Mhallea usually look at old and new maps and look for places that hold promising finds in glyphs and inventions. But I and Synyx are the ones who go out and look for them. Although some ruins were accidental found and a few are what I’ve found when I travel alone. Oddly that is quite often.// she shrugged at the idea that such a sociable one as herself often traveled without companions.

Whispering, //A few of them are where I am Chewrip’s birth tribe traveled for festivals and such but Chewrip will never admit it.// Giggling, //And one or two closer to the mountain are what my tribe found once or twice when going to markets.//

Munching on a citrus fruit, Sri hummed and tapped out a rhythm, enjoying the companionable silence. But with that mouth of hers, the silence did not last long, //I wonder, Miss Shira, if perhaps you like music?//

((  I'm here! Hello! Last weekend at DragonCon was pretty fun! I even got a surprise visit from two awesome people. Saw lots of cool things, and met some cool artists, bought lots of cool stuff. Yep. Only bad thing is I ended up getting sick afterwords, which I'm finally starting to get over now.

So! Replies, yes, those. From what I remember, I'm currently RPing with Sri, Mes and Buki? If I've forgotten anyone please let me know.  ))

Alright got a start on the second series of sweaters! I’m doing Sweater Belles in honor of Andrew Belle (I swear I tried to find something else and I know the name is super duper cheesy but oh man I promise to make these as cool as I can). My goal is to get two more parts done before school starts on the 28th so we’ll just have to see how that goes.

Anyways, I’ll break down my thoughts on each of the characters.

If I remember right, Etoile is supposed to be a crafty little seamstress so my brain wanted to do something more fancy. After all, she is the elegant wanderer! So I made hers more form fitting and gave it some length (and spahkles aw yis). I imagine she’d look super spiffy wearing this as a short dress with leggings as well if she wanted.

After reading the drabble between her and College!au Buki about covering her scars in the heat, I just REALLY wanted to make sure I drew her in something that wouldn’t easily overheat her. Asha’s wearing something with a wider cut at the neck to help offset the scarf around her neck in case it’s too warm out. The sleeves are also cut about midway and loose to help make it more breezy.

She looks so young oh man…but Shira seems so easy going that I didn’t think she’d mind. Something simple and extra cozy to get comfortable in. I kept thinking on her and the rest of her dynamic trio chilling in someone’s dorm on a lazy saturday eating Shira’s cupcakes and watching Hulu or something. Probably a little thick for colder temps, but super snuggly.

I’d like to think this is a sweater she stole from Neph’s closet. It now smells of fabric softener and something sweet and in certain lights you can notice some sort of glitter she’s gotten on it. Soft and warm on the inside, and just a little big, it’s nice for cold weather or naps in the chilly library. Neph’s name may or may not be on the tag.

I’m hoping to start Part 2 tomorrow night if I’m lucky. Hope you’ve been enjoying the pics and silly head canons so far~

(( Popping in to say HI IT'S MUNDAY.

Haven't done anything too exciting, just prepping for the weekend, making plans, sewing and cleaning. It's kinda nice relaxing off the computer, but I'm getting inspired to write and draw again finally. This mini break has done some good :D

ALSO, going to be a DragonCon this weekend if anyone is going. Just shoot me and Ask or Skype if you're going and want to meet up.

((  They are saying that for a reason. It takes time. It takes effort. It takes patience. If you are not happy with your work, ask yourself what it is exactly you do not like. Focus on that, and improve it. It will not be an immediate change, but you will gradually see an improvement. Just keep at it. I'm sure if you feel like you need some guidance, someone on here will be happy to help. :)  ))

Money

Money: What would you do with 1 million dollars?

(( College AU Shira! ))

"Pay off my school loans!" Shira laughed. "Help out my dad with bills and whatnot, and then send him on vacation. He needs it. And then probably help out my friends with any financial stuff. Oh yeah, help pay for and upgraded kitchen for The Summits kitchen. They really need it. And the animal shelter in town always needs donations.” She paused, lost in thought. “Haha, wow this is actually harder than I thought. Umm, get Buki cooking lessons so he can bake his own cupcakes! Haha! Oh! Take knitting lessons for myself! Hmm, maybe travel? Go see some good musicals, maybe Broadway!” Shira’s face lit up. “Yeah! And maybe get some backstage tickets or something, and get to talk with the actors? Oh that’d be exciting!” The girl continued to spout off a long list of things ranging from buying her father a new hunting knife to buying certain people a years supply of cakemix.

Blue, Fear, Zoo

Blue: What song do you listen to when you’re feeling down?

( I enjoy the trills and chirps of the cloth creatures. Their sounds may seem like just chatter, but if you sit and listen, sometimes you can hear a melody. I have also learned that they can remember, or perhaps just mimic the songs I sing to them. ) Shira rocked on her heels. ( And sometimes, I do try and sing to myself. Though it is only an old lullaby, and most of the time only makes me more emotional. )

Fear: Tell us three fears.

Shira frowned, shuffling uneasy in the sand. ( Fears hmm? ) Shira closed her eyes, thinking hard. 

( I had been plagued with nightmares for a time. At first, I had thought nothing of it, as I could not remember anything after I awoke. They subsided for a time, but lately they have been coming back, and I can remember them now. I had a feeling it had something to do with my, um, Ancestor? I am sure they are of her. I do not know what they mean but I do not believe I would truely like to know. ) She shuddered. ( And I am quite uncomfortable in dark places. I-I am not afraid of the dark! Just, I do not know what could be there, in the darkness. ) Shira quieted once again, thinking. ( Loosing someone. A-And not just through their passing on… ) Shira shuffled her feet. ( Because that is not the only way to loose someone. ) 

Zoo: What is your favourite animal?

( I have heard tales of many different creatures of all shapes and sizes. They all sound so fascinating and wonderful, but I have only actually seen the smaller cloth creatures, dolphins and jellyfish in my time here in the desert. Oh! But I did see a cloth whale once! It was very deep in the caves, and it was only from a distance, but it was very grand! I would love to see one up close one day. )

Love: Do you believe in marriage?

Shira closed her eyes.( Marriage hmm? Well it certainly does exist. ) She gave a light laugh. ( But beyond that, before marriage, I believe that for everyone, there is someone, or many someones, that have such a bond, umm, a connection, that even in different lives they come together. )
