Just a heads up for those following this page - I'm running this as a side-blog on Tumblr, meaning this is not a main blog. I don't have access to functions like DMs or liking posts or following other blogs from THIS account. I can do pretty much everything else though. If you want to speak to me privately here on Tumblr, you can reach out to my personal/main blog that I rarely use - @ameliaroseamoretta - for sending direct links or just asking about stuff without having to go through Asks. I run this blog alone and it was a bit of a misstep on making it a side-blog so I gotta deal with the consequences of my actions lol. My bad. Okay, back to your regularly scheduled programming. :)))

THERE'S PROOF OF NEVER BURIED. THERE'S PROOF OF NEVER BURIED LIVE. WHAT. HAD NO IDEA THERE WAS PROOF OF THIS SONG BEING PLAYED LIVE. THERE WERE SETLISTS AND ANECDOTES BUT NOT AUDIO/VISUAL PROOF. THIS IS CRAZY.
a couple years ago (probably sometime in late 2020) i found a video of that unreleased demo from the jf sessions/end of the world videos (supposedly it's called never buried?) being played live. it's seemingly only the second half of the song and the audio is unfortunately pretty muddled, but it's the fullest version that i'm aware exists. filmed may 11th 2013, ie when waterparks opened for aaron carter.

have you considered making a copy of the doc as a tumblr page or post? you can put a good chunk of the info under a read me and edit it at any time that's what i did with the timeline post
Good idea - I'm already stealing quite a bit of info from this and the parxarchive page, might as well steal some more from you while I'm at it. /lh /j For real though, I'll get to it this week. I've been trying to think of SOMETHING to do with the document because I know not many people will want to be redirected to a Google Docs page. I'll see what I can do with reformatting it to a Tumblr post or page and see if that can do the trick to get other people in the know about all the demos and b-sides and whatnot.

The Demos We're (Probably) Never Going To Get - Vol. 1
If you follow this blog and archive, chances are you're more than aware of the countless demos and unreleased songs that we've heard about from the band Waterparks. While on special occasions, we've gotten releases such as 1 or 2, or full Instagram live stream leaks of demos, there are quite a handful of unreleased songs and demos - some of which are fan favorites - that we're most likely never going to see a release of. These are some of those demos. 1. "Waiting" (sometimes erroneously referred to by fans as 'Need Me Back') - a Double Dare demo that was partially leaked in October of 2018 on an Instagram live stream. Awsten claimed that the song is good, but just not as creatively diverse as the other songs that made it onto the album. To this day, Awsten says he has no plans of releasing that demo (part of the reason being that he can't even access the original project file anymore due to corruption).
2. "Zip" - a FANDOM demo that was partially leaked in November of 2023 on Twitter. A PARXAFTERDARK2 tweet confirms the full-length of the demo to be just 2 minutes and 11 seconds long. Despite fans being vocal about their love for the song, Awsten views the initial leak as being underwhelming in terms of support, and has decided against leaking the full song. It's unknown if this sentiment will change, considering how often fans bring up this demo, but it doesn't seem likely.
3. "Play" - a Friendly Reminder track that was leaked in July of 2019. The song was teased multiple times throughout 2018, and upon the full leak on an Instagram live stream, fans were dying for an official release. When the FANDOM tracklist was revealed, Awsten confirmed Play was 'dead', and when people ask about when we might be getting 'Play' at any point, Awsten jokingly goes "you already have the full song" in response. While he did mention that he was considering reworking the song on a TikTok stream from late 2024, the original song itself will probably not see an official, high quality release in the future.
Another thing to keep in mind is that, if more demos are to be released as a part of the 2nd demo album, they will most likely only be demos from FANDOM onward. Awsten has mentioned that, during a computer change in 2018/2019, a lot of his old project files got corrupted, leaving the only remnants of any pre-FANDOM demos to be full-song exports and alternate mixes. The plan for demo album 2 appears to be releasing demos Awsten loves but most likely won't fit on any future albums, and gives him a chance to polish it up on his own outside of studio time. It's why we have yet to see anything about the unreleased fan favorite, "Gwen Stefani", because that is currently being reworked for the next Waterparks album as of now. Now, there may come a point where Awsten may decide to drop these songs in some fashion. He's expressed a few times in the past about wanting to do b-side compilations and demo boxsets, though there hasn't been too many mentions of that in the past few years, especially with the demo albums now in existence. As of now, it's most likely the case that these demos won't see the light of day for a long time. Which demos do you hope eventually see the light of day?

NEW DEMO LEAK: Untitled Entertainment/Friendly Reminder Demo
In a moment of Awsten (once again) not remembering what demos he's leaked, he shares a snippet of a rough demo from the Entertainment era that could have very well been a rough idea for a potential Friendly Reminder song that never got fleshed out. The clip comes from a story on Awsten's Instagram from today!
Will be adding this to the document pretty soon!

NEWS: Upcoming Awsten Knight & Dillon Francis collaboration
Today, for the release of the anniversary edition of Awsten's book "You'd Be Paranoid Too", Awsten went live on his Instagram to talk about it, and he shared a snippet of an upcoming collaboration he did with producer Dillon Francis. I wasn't there for the full snippet, and only appeared during the last few seconds, so if he shared anymore information on it that I missed, let me know and I'll edit this post! Currently, the only known information about it is that Dillon confirmed it's release - 3 weeks from now. A title hasn't been revealed to my knowledge so we won't know more until closer to release. One thing I did find is that Dillon shared a story on his Instagram about something called "Sorry My Love", which appears to be an upcoming music project. The account for this project is only following 5 accounts, one being Dillon and another being the Waterparks band account. Maybe this upcoming collaboration is a part of this project? I guess we'll find out soon. But keep an eye out for that Dillon Francis collaboration sometime next month!

Okay. So I'm going through the document and I'm updating links and doing some more research on stuff and I come across an old tweet from 5 years ago when a fan discovered their copy of Airplane Conversations contains the dance remix to 'Fantastic'. Awsten replied to it with something I had completely forgotten about until now.
So now, I'm curious. Do we know of any copies of Black Light with bonus tracks? To my knowledge, it was just the standard EP on physical copies and that's it, especially considering the acoustic version of 'I'm a Natural Blue' was made *after* the EP was released. I know I've seen a few fans throughout the years who have physical copies of Black Light in their possession, but I'm not sure how likely it would be to get any rips or see if any existing copies even have bonus tracks. If Awsten's memory at the time is correct, we might have something of a holy grail to search for. If you have any leads or information or anything, please reach out via asks, replies, or email @ [email protected]. Thank you!

YouTube blocked this comment for including a link as I predicted, so I'm resorting to this tumblr ask. I doubly appreciate the work you've done in curating this Archive! I actually had a read through the B-side Guide document before and went to find that snippet of the second "Worst" demo on twitter which can be seen here: https://x.com/waterparks/status/1211383198934093830
I'd have already also added it as a suggestion on your document. I hope this helps out tenfold! :)
Thank you so so much! This is partly why I have this blog and the document, to properly document in detail the band's recording history, and the fact that I still have other fans reaching out with info for the document makes me so so happy! Listening to the snippet, this definitely is a post-FR 'Worst' for sure. The bass sounds like it's almost the same exact take as the one on the album, and the percussion in this snippet is exactly the same as the one on 'FANDOM'. Glad I finally have this! Adding it as a source on the document now! Thanks again!

Uploading a batch of FANDOM-era stuff today, in the midst of the uploads is one of the demo for Play / Kiwi, remastered by me as best as I could for clear/crisp quality.
youtube
The audio was ripped from a reupload of the original live stream the song was leaked on. I took that audio and did my best to run it through a stem separation model to try and get decent results, and the audio would be remixed and remastered by me to try and reach something of a more 'studio quality' sound as best as I could. The audio, of course, is very mid-quality and Awsten moves his phone around during the leak so the levels aren't consistent, but I did my best. I would really love to see some official direct leak of the song to see how close I got mixing-wise.

I mainly started this archive for posting audio/visual stuff but what other Parx history/archival stuff would you guys like to see more of? I was considering doing something like sharing song histories and behind the scenes stuff, providing proper timelines for songs or demos, sharing unique facts or 'lore' most fans probably are out of the loop with, theories/speculation about upcoming releases, etc.

Since I might have better luck here given that Parx fans aren't as active over on Bluesky (and I ain't going back to Twitter), I wanna restart a search for a potential lost Waterparks song. On the old MP3 streaming site, Grooveshark, there was a title that caught my eye, "Always Go To Bed Angry". I haven't seen this title anywhere else - no mention of it on Instagram live streams, YouTube comment sections, tour QNAs, Twitter replies, nothing. The picture below isn't mine, but from Reddit user u/luvarose on the Parx subreddit. This is now the only remaining proof that this title was in circulation, as the original Grooveshark shut down years ago and any attempts on the Wayback Machine were fruitless.

Some things to keep in mind to help out with this potential search: - All the songs that were listed on this page were roughly from before Cluster era, meaning everything here is from 2011-2015. Also, none of the songs were in a playable state by the time I found this site on my own years and years ago. Not even the released ones. So I couldn't just press play to see what it was. - Other listings that were once considered lost also appeared, like the acoustic version of I Was Hiding, the Starry Eyed cover, and I believe the Fantastic remix, though I could be mistaken on that last one, so it's not that hard to believe that the listing for this mysterious song is a false one. - My two working theories (if this song isn't actually real) are that this song could be the one from the JF Sessions video and The End Of The World video (aka "Never Buried"), and was given an alternate title based on lyrics. OR, because the timeline fits, it's a falsely provided title for Mad All The Time. - There's also a mysterious "Song #2 Demo" listed here too, which is the only other unknown title on the page, but unlike the song this post is made for, this one doesn't even have a title, so I wouldn't even know what I'd be looking for. It's incredibly unlikely that people would just post fake songs like this for a band that was still relatively unknown outside of their hometown at the time, so I'm in the firm belief these are real songs. I keep a document tracking all alternate versions and demos of Waterparks material, including unreleased songs too. And this one has been in my "Existence/Era Unconfirmed" section since I started the document. Simply searching the title up along with the band's name or anything similar just leads back to the Reddit post, which has had no comments in the many years its been up. If ANYONE has any idea or information about the song, PLEASE send it my way here on Tumblr or through the archive's email @ [email protected]. Thank you.
