he sits silently, staring at his hands which are slick with the blood of his enemies. the smell of death filled the air. he sat and listened to the moans of pain from his comrades, his brothers in arms. eyes dart around the room nervously, searching for one man. he sees men that are sitting in pools of blood, he is unsure if some who sat as still as a corpse might be actual corpses. ‘ f-…frank .. ‘ it comes out as a mere whisper as he searches the room with his eyes for his missing friend. minutes pass, and his anxiety grows. he begins to fear the worst. 

he lifts his head quickly when he hears the name  “ CASTLE ”  he looks up to see a man who is unrecognizable. his friends body is covered in blood. he can’t tell if the blood is franks or the opposing army’s. for a moment he remains seated, breathing slowly when he finally regains himself he stands to his feet and staggers over to frank. groaning in pain, gripping his own leg and hissing. he had forgotten that his leg had been grazed from the gunfight earlier. he grits his teeth and attempts to shake it off.

blood-stained hands rest gently on franks shoulders ( as a sign of comfort & relief ) his eyes are fixed on his friend, a bullet graze here and a cut from a knife there, he couldn’t tell what wounds frank was really suffering from. he looks him up and down trying to make sure that he is stable, to make sure he doesn’t need immediate medical help ‘ frankie… ‘  desperately calls out. his voice was low, and his throat was dry ‘ frank !!‘ he called louder, shaking his friend by his shoulders. he holds franks face firmly in his hands and slowly he kneels down on his knees forcing his friend to look him in the eyes ‘ frankie… hey. ‘ he softly spoke - he was barely holding himself together, his breath was unsteady as he called out to his friend ‘ you ‘kay? ‘ he whispers.
