*wraps Jack in a hug because the man deserves the world but Reaps is too awkward with words*
shoulders tense for the briefest of moments, before they’re dropping, the soldier exhaling with a loud sigh. there’s no use in fighting anymore, as is, may as well stand there and take it. “you feeling affectionate all of a sudden?”

flcshbangin:
"Ain’t no such thing.“
It’s not like he’s shouting and giving their position away anymore than is known anyway (there’s only so much cover, and their enemy has the distance on their side, while they surely do in numbers — he wonders briefly if he’d ask for covering, keeping the sniper suppressed while he moves into a better spot himself — solely based on magazine sizes and the fact he never cared enough about whether he himself got hit or not). Maybe speaking, even if it’s barely above a whisper, is enough to distract the other man — barely a problem with their opponent.
It can’t be worse than trying to figure out this thing that stares him in the eyes, anyway. That’s the worst. He knows it’s obvious, it’s just slipping right through his fingers.
"You wanna take this side while I’m tryin’ an’ gettin’ behind ‘em?”
He speaks before he looks up, looks back at the other man, and frowns. It’s not that he sees much, but something is definitely wrong.
" — hurt?“
“So you say.”
It’s gruff, just like anything else 76 had thrown at the gunslinger, patience drawing thin. He doesn’t have time for this. Doesn’t have time lingering around his past and dealing with lowlifes shooting at them. Doesn’t have time getting caught in amidst gunfire-- especially once part of the mask is shot off. Jack scoffs, keeping his face out of McCree’s line of sight at that, following with a nod. May as well. “Go for it. I’ll keep you covered.”
Best he sends out the sharpshooter to help deal with the enemy, knowing full well Jesse is capable of doing so, and bolts, before the kid picks up on something 76 definitely doesn’t need right now. If ever. The question that follows is dismissed as fast as it can be. “Fine.” Like he hadn’t nearly caught a bullet too close to the head, but it’s not like he’s lying. He’s fine-- save for the piece of his visor that’s laying on the ground, broken apart.
So long as they keep on going like that, he may just make it out of there before the cowboy picks up on anything. A brief glance toward said cowboy, before he’s ushering him once more.
“--need an invitation? Go on, I’ll cover you.”

Ale ran as fast as her little legs would let her. They had found her. The Los Muertos gang. Ever since that night they saw her with that masked man, they had a price on her head and weren't gonna stop till they had her. This time her sneakiness wasn't going to cut it. She could hear their barking laughter as they chased after her, like a couple of mad hyenas. She thought this really was the end till the girl round the corner and hit something hard head on. Wait. Not something. Someone. No way.
It’s no surprise he’d found himself in that city once more. The vigilante wasn’t done with the local gang just yet and rumours of increased Muertos activity had been more than enough of a reason for that time to be now.
Nothing surprising, really. 76 knew he would find himself in the streets of Dorado sooner or later, the newfound information pretty much something to have been expected.
What he hadn’t expected, however, was an all too familiar face, rounding the corner and bumping right into him, with commotion following behind. If there was a tiny flicker of surprise, the mask kept it well hidden, his voice betraying nothingof the sort either. “You “
