physically disabled people who are also fat deserve mobility aids just as much as physically disabled people who are skinny.
we also deserve to have mobility aids that fit us, we shouldn’t have to settle for ones that don’t meet our needs. whether it’s having a high enough weight limit or being wide enough or being sturdy enough, we deserve that.
it doesn’t even matter whether a person is fat because of their disability/ies or if they’re disabled because they’re fat. that person still deserve good mobility aids that meet their needs.
[this is a post about fatness and physical disability, derail and i will steal your mail for three months and two days]

bringing this off the community actually -- i saw some people talking about coining theriopunk and i agree i think

THIS IS A CALL TO ACTION. Censorship affects all of us, and if Project 2025 gets its way, the entire trans publishing industry is at a significant risk of criminalization. In this article, I lay out the problem and the stakes, and suggest a broad action plan with dozens of potential response ✊

Even though no one is talking about it, disabled people will be the group that sufferers tremendously (if not the most) compared to other marginalized groups due to this US election outcome.
If Trump repeals the ACA, insurance won’t cover our medical treatments, aids, or procedures. It’s likely that SSDI (many people’s only source of income) will be taken away, other benefits will have a work requirement that is impossible for most disabled people to meet, educational protections will be removed for disabled students, prices of medication (that we need to live) will go up, the list goes on.
Many of us will die, become extremely ill, and/or become homeless due to even just the repeal of the ACA and removal of some SS/SSDI (many people’s only form of income). It’s uncertain what exactly is going to happen and when, but disabled Americans are going to suffer. Please be aware of what’s happening to us these next 4 years, try to advocate as much as you can, and support your disabled and chronically ill community members (since the federal government obviously will not).

Everything feels awful right now but it isn't really. We still don't officially have a winner, but regardless of how the presidential election ends up, I wanted to take a minute and find what lights I can in the 3 a.m. darkness. Here's what I know:
* Kentucky overwhelmingly rejected an attempt to undermine the public education system by offering private school vouchers:
* Delaware has elected a transgender woman to the House of Representatives, the first out trans person of any gender ever elected to congress:
* For the first time in history, two Black women will be serving in the senate at the same time, and they are only the fourth and fifth Black women ever elected to the senate:
* New York State has passed a constitutional amendment enshrining the rights of pregnant people (including the right to an abortion), LGBTQIA+ people, the disabled, immigrants regardless of legal status, and other at-risk groups:
* Democrat Josh Stein has beaten self-avowed Nazi Mark Robinson to become governor of North Carolina:
That's everything I know off the top of my head. It's not many bright spots, but it's not zero. I'm going to try to find more and I'll add them to the post. It's the only thing I can think of to do that isn't sobbing and throwing up or looking up Canadian immigration rules.
If you know more good news, I encourage you to add it in reblogs.
