Note
Hey, Walter! Are you safe and sound, sir, are things better now? Take care, old man
Oh, yes indeed. I apologize for being so late to see this.
I'm... not quite sure what happened, but somehow everything turned out okay. Earlier this morning we ran a few tests in the Anomalous Materials Lab, one of the tests being on a rare mixed crystal. All tests went well, nothing broke, and the Anti-Mass Spectrometer didn't have any problems.
Only issue, those security guards were being extra obnoxious, looking through the door into the control room and taking pictures of us, even after the Assistant Administrator asked them to stop twice. Ever since the incident I've taken a lot of PTO, as I found out that I had a bunch of available time after working at Black Mesa for as long as I have. It's still difficult to process what the hell actually happened.
I'm glad the facility was able to be rebuilt and that everything is... pretty much normal now.
Yours truly,
Walter Bennet Biochemist, Anomalous Materials Laboratory Black Mesa Research Facility

5/16 & 5/17/200X - The Escape
Sorry for no update yesterday, that test went... a little bit south, so to speak.
Dr. Freeman was running late yesterday to the test---although I'm not sure if I can blame him for that. The facility was experiencing power outages all morning... which may have been us running a test-run of the Anti-Mass Spectrometer before Gordon arrived.
We had actually held a short meeting prior to the test-runs of our equipment to solidify shutdown procedures if anything unprecedented did happen, as well as general test overviews. I would be the one working the console and working the machine in the control room.
The experiment started at around 9 A.M., everything was going okay. But once the sample was slot into the analysis port, everything started going wrong. We tried to shut off the power from the terminal, but it just wasn't working. Explosions and whatnot were plentiful, so I hid behind the console away from the main window, saving my life from a dangerous beam that injured or killed the others in the control room. We were experiencing a Resonance Cascade---a scenario I thought to only be theoretical. I thought that, at worse, the facility would have a complete blackout due to not being able to sustain the power for long enough, but it was far worse.
I quickly escaped Sector C, and eventually met up with Simmons, Harold, and Dr. Rosenberg, where we planned to make our escape from the facility. We were going to the abandoned prototype teleporter... although Rosenberg was captured and Harold didn't quite make it. But, a security guard named Barney was able to rescue Rosenberg, and we escaped earlier this morning.
We've made our way to Albuquerque, which is how I'm currently able to write this at all. We're trying to lay low for a while. I hope to give updates soon.
Stay safe,
Walter Bennet Biochemist

For whomever it may concern:
My ask box is open for everyone. If you have any questions about me, Black Mesa, or anything, do not hesitate to ask!
Hopefully this should aid in taking my mind off of the forthcoming test… after that last entry, the entire facility lost power, and I’ve been hearing rumors that some may have perished due to equipment malfunctions.
I digress—send in those asks, I would be delighted to answer some.
Yours truly,

5/12/200X - Anti-Mass Spectrometer Tests
The Assistant Administrator called the Science and Service personnel in to Sector C for a meeting. A major test is coming up on Thursday, the 16th, which requires us to push our equipment beyond the safe 80%.
Obviously, I brought this up. However, we were told that Dr. Breen is insistent on pushing the AMS to 105%! This is bound to damage the equipment---or even the facility---in some way that could produce damage to the facility itself!
I digress... we're currently trying to make sure the machine is in tip-top shape for Thursday. Although, I fear that it will need more time than just four-damned-days to fix this machine.
A test was attempted but this machine broke, since Freeman decided to shatter the window that leads into the control room because he had no helmet. Having no helmet on is fine! Who told him it'd be fatal to not?!
Now, the AMS machinery caught on fire and the power randomly turned on. It started sending hazardous lasers directly into the control room. I, luckily, wasn't hit (unlike what others may want you to believe), and am safe.
I'll have to talk to Dr. Rosenberg about getting Dr. Breen to postpone this test. There's no way we can get it fixed in just four days.
Yours truly,

Hello, everyone!
Black Mesa has been under renovation for months now, and I remembered this old blog. I've renovated it!
I've gone ahead and cleared out most of the junk that was taking up this page, as I wanted to have somewhat of a fresh start here. I've left my personal favorites up, however.
I look forward to seeing you all in the new year. Hopefully, I'll have interesting stories to tell you all.
Yours truly,
Walter Bennet Biochemist, Anomalous Materials Laboratory Black Mesa Research Facility

I just bought a whole-ass desktop from one of the IT workers for only 50 dollars. Anyway... due to construction in the facility, I've been able to expand my lab. While I typically reside in Sector C, I like to work in Sector E for when I'm researching the Barnacles.
Here's a report I wrote about these creatures a while back.
Yours truly,

Lab tour!
Good afternoon!
I figured I would show you my lab in Sector C.
This is the outside of it! I prefer not to have unwanted people in my lab, it's not a very big lab so it can get crowded quickly! I have a keypad door outside so only I can get in, but I have a retinal scanner on the other end that anyone can use to leave.
Here is a good overview of my lab! It has all the essential things I need... except for my coffee cup, I seem to have lost it... I do have my own vending machine in the corner, the vending machines in the break room are never quite working.
In the dead center of the lab, I've been dissecting the Headcrab creatures. I won't be going into much depth on them here, as a good amount of information on them is still... classified. But, they are parasitic. They do taste very good if you ask me! They taste similar to chicken.
I have to get back to my research, so I'll see you all around later.

A Dimensional Breach!
I appear to have missed something massive! In Sector F, which houses the Lambda Core (a large teleportation device that leads to Xen, a "border world" of sorts.), a new, smaller teleportation device was made by Dr. Ethan Vondwarf. It led to a dimension known simply as "X."
This dimension is similar to that of Xen, with a different race of creatures known as "Race X." I, naturally, wished to study these creatures as soon as I heard about this. Unfortunately I was needed elsewhere...
During my absence, the Race X creatures invaded the facility, and started to try to kill everyone from what I heard. I'm unsure if the HECU units were called into the facility or not. When I got back, things seemed to be cooling down a bit, and the facility looked fine.
I'll have to ask around to figure out exactly what happened. I do know Dr. Rosenberg's lab was destroyed! He was fixing it up when I came back.
I hope a Race X specimen can be captured so I can study it, I'm almost done evaluating the toxic phlegm of a Bullsquid.
Yours truly,
