thinking about how callie lost the final fest and was legally lesser than her cousin. thinking about how after losing the final fest the squid sisters split up to focus on their solo careers, and how those same careers deepened the cracks in their relationship.

thinking about how that probably felt like marie was leaving her behind to callie. thinking about how callie might have associated it with not being good enough.

thinking about how she felt so suffocatingly lonely and miserable that she allowed herself to be brainwashed just so she could forget. thinking about how even after callie was saved she went back, time and time again, and kept the thing that brainwashed her with her at all times. thinking about how callie says she keeps putting the shades on because they make her look cool, and the other reasons she may have that are deeper than that.

thinking about how the desire to look cool might connect back to her low self esteem. thinking about how callie seems to like the octarians, the ones who brainwashed her and took her away from her "busy, lonely" life.

thinking about how when deep cut asks callie if there's something wrong with her, she says there's plenty.
