In our 20s, breaking and fixing seem to coexist with a brutal intensity.
You start your 20s being an ignorant rebel who thinks not believing is cool, that you are supposed to be a little reckless, that you ought to look up to people older than you as a rule, or that you are not meant for love. But a few tears and life down the lane, you see the world for what it is, and you know you could have been kinder, softer. You've lost friends. You've survived nights that didn't promise any mornings at all. And you realize you are meant for love; you are just not meant for anything half-hearted. And to think that we've just scratched the surface so far, that there is a lot more to learn, a lot of fixing and unfixing to happen, is so terrifying yet so hopeful at the same time. It's as though life will never run out of chances to give you as long as you know what to do with it.
