I want to put Johnny Football in perspective for a second.

This video was uploaded in September of 2010, Manziel is talking to this guy about the game he just played and telling him about how Manziel is thinking about visiting Texas A&M and Oregon.

In September of 2010 I was a high school junior who had to retake algebra because I had miserable failed it the year before and had to deal with parents who wouldn't let me see their daughter.

Manziel is only about a year older than me. 

If I was being courted by major football powers, growing up rich and being asked by Texas A&M to become this celebrity could you really blame me for trying to turn a profit?

Why would you have a right to be upset at me when I do this? You created me.

People deal with success in different ways and J-Ball is the kid in high school who had money and was really good at sports. You probably had that kid in your school at some point. You either hated him for his cocky attitude and the way he talked to people or you loved him for his confidence and way he carried himself. In either case you talked about. Kids with his level of self assurance, talent and upbringing tend to live life based around the Nirvana lyric "I don't care what you say as long as it's about me". We, the sports fan, talk about him day in and day out and then become upset when he takes it out on somebody while he is doing his craft. We blow up a 20 year old's worth than get upset with him when he shows that he believes it himself. So what does that say about the sports fan? We want you to entertain us but also be exactly who we want you to be, not who you are.

Sure he seems like an entitled party boy but when we elevate him to this level of stardom, do we have the right to complain about him?
