“By the way,” Matt starts as he’s settling down to sit with Pidge, Hunk, and Lance and accepting the controller from them, “Keith is coming too, they’ll be here in a couple hours.”

A couple hours into their get-together Matt gets a call in which he pauses the game to answer, “Hello?”

A familiar, not-quite-monotone answers, calm and a bit raspy, “Hey, this is Keith.”

 “What’s up Keith?” Matt asks.

“I’m just finishing up with mom and Acxa, I’m heading back to Earth right now. Give me like an hour to get back to the apartment, change, and head over. I need to feed Kosmo as well.”

“Why do you look like that?” Lance asks, much more obtuse than his friend.

“Why do I look like what?” They ask, “I don’t think I have any bruises or cuts or anything?”

Shiro, bless him, decides to take pity on them, “They’re talking about the way you’re dressed, Keith.”

 Or; Keith shows up to a hangout actually dressed emo, not what the group joked was their emo style, and it confuses the hell out of the group. Shiro's neutral, Matt's enjoying it, and Keith's only slightly confused.
