Do y'all ever think about how Ingrid usually wore the Dracula family black and red in the Stokely seasons? It's obvious that she's trying to dress like her dad, at least colour wise use because she's a Dracula™ and because she wants the douche's love™ and attention™

But during the Garside seasons, after she looses Will, steals her fathers throne and betrays her family (which, I mean...is kinda just a Dracula'a Sunday afternoon but still) we see her in predominantly black outfits.

Now, of course there are exceptions to this and she often wears sliver or gold accents with the black but there is a pretty clear change from the Stokely seasons in her wardrobe. You could argue that it was simply a stylistic choice as many in the show were made that differ from the early seasons, as we all know that the show got generally darker. But it feels like more than that to me because The Count still largely dresses in black and red, it's still of the family colour (Vlad tends to rarely wear the black and red either but it's different because it didn't make up %90 of his wardrobe in the past and when he did wear it, it was usually due to being forced into traditional clothing by his dad).
So, why is this pretty obvious shift even worth pointing out? Well, there are character reasons that can be applied here. Ingrid wore the black and red to essentially match with her dad and be seen as a Dracula as much as she could be but after she betrays her dad and Vlad at the end of season 2 everything changes for her. In that moment she stopped trying to force him to recognise her as his heir (which was kinda her only plan at that point to get power). Since he wasn't going to choose her over Vlad, she saw her chance and took the opportunity to seize control (mind you she had literally just lost Will so who knows how fucked up she was in that moment).
And okay, so this doesn't end well for her, sure, but even when she gets to Garside she doesn't go back to the black and red nor does she put all her effort into making her dad decide against Vlad. She comes up with numerous other plans to get what she wants and is pretty damn relentless at times. And even then she's still a Dracula™. She never turned away from the family name even when she stopped dressing like her dad because she wasn't just a Dracula™ anymore. She was Ingrid Dracula. She was going to do things her own way whether that meant assassinating Vlad or getting a seat on the High Vampire Council. It wasn't about getting her dads love anymore as that was something she'd pretty much given up on year's ago when she betrayed him. She just wanted power and to be Ingrid Dracula in power.
So, yeah. Maybe it was a simple colour scheme change decided upon by the shows wardrobe department...or maybe it was a way to show Ingrid's development from a teenage girl who wanted her dad to see her as a vampire and legitimate heir, to a woman who is willing to walk over his ashes to get her hands on what she wants.
To put it plainly; Ingrid Fucking Dracula could roundhouse kick me to the face and I would thank her.

Happy Halloween, have some pictures that a 12-year-old vampire obsessed nerd named Robin Branagh drew that are being discovered by his slayer wood work teacher :))

The Count from Young Dracula
What started as a a fun kid’s show a few years back has seriously become dark and more grown-up this year. I like it. Though I would love it if they lengthened the show to an hour and go full on metal with it. Let’s see how dark they can get. (I am sure Junior can handle it. Well, maybe after a few therapy sessions and sleeping with a garlic garland.)
