The World Around I

Reality is dog eat dog

Where I am alone

And no longer within

The four walls my parents built

Instead I built my own

A bubble of a world

Where comfort is living

And dreams a fancy

But woe was such an act

And the dogs bit back

From the bubble world

My heart was torn

The four walls my parents built

I no longer lived in

Instead I'm alone

Where reality is dog eat dog

When I was a kid my dad and I would watch Naked and Afraid and in this particular episode one of the cast ate Skunk meat in the mountains of the Philippines and it made them sick.

Ang aking lungkot at ng ina ko

"Marahil hinamak ako", ito ang aking naisip

Ngunit akin nang dama 

Na ang pagkakamali'y galing s'aking sarili

Iyon rin ang sinambit ni inay

Na ako ang problema ngunit hindi ko nadama

Nasaktan ako sa salita nyo, sa galit ninyo 

Alam kong may mali ako at inayawan ko ang sarili ko dahil doon

Ngayon, sa puso at utak ko nanahan ang pakiramdam na 'to

Ang pakiramdam na ako ang sinaktan, na ako ang dapat alalahanan kahit ikaw naman dapat ang unang inalam

Ikaw na aking sinaktan at aking sinuway

Inay marahil ikaw ay nasa iyong silid

Umiiyak at nagtataka na ang iyong anak ay ganito at bakit

Paumanhin po Inay

Hindi ko alam kung paano

Ang aking mga nadarama'y sadyang ikinalilito. Sarili kong damdamin ay hindi ko mapunto

Ano ba ito!?

Galit? Puot? Lungkot?

Nadama mo din ba ito nang tayo ay magkagulo?

Paumanhin inay… 

Tahan na, at wag nang umiyak pa

Ang malungkot nyong mukha ay masakit makita

Kasalanan ko ang luha mo

Patawarin nyo ang anak nyong hinamak kayo

A Light That None Can Quell

For so long, this trouble seeks

Tailing the strong, attacking the weak, 

The victims pile up to its peak

For such plights has never ceased

In this wayward world of diversity; 

Too much has suffered, too much ignored

Since the world believed it’s one for his own

But it never was and never will 

Whereas as many as the troubled, there were those that are saved

It’s human nature, it’s unwavering

That those who help are the ones that are able

The storms that come leaves a path all beaten

A home crushed flat with gardens all wilting

But behind the harshness of it all

The hopelessness it’s sure to call

It never piles up to quell the light of a human heart

And the desire to lend a hand

For the needs of a fellow man
