How I make animated sprites

First I start with the general movement

Then I make a mockup of how it should look, a base sprite in case I’m making different characters do the same.

Then having my mockup work, I can draw my character sprite over it

Finally, I make the sprites and animate the final one

And thats how they would look next to each other!
