Gem had dealt with and manipulated a variety of Users who entered the Grid. Some of them made better Sirens than others. But she wasn’t sure if any had intrigued her as much as Bella did. Beyond just the physical attractiveness she felt towards Bella, she had heard good things about her training. More than anything, Gem believed she could possibly trust Bella, given her ability to take commands up to this point. Now, she was going to put that to the test. She had methods of ensuring Bella complied with this new role, but Gem didn’t think she would have to make any threats for it to come to fruition.
The elevator made a short, electric buzz as it reached the first floor of her residence, a bright, light blue alert appearing above the doors. She was sitting in her living area, the view of the cityscape just outside of the large panoramic window. Gem’s home was up off the ground, 120 stories high, give her quite the view. She loved looking down across the Grid, and although she had created quite a following of programs, she wouldn’t be satisfied until she’d seized complete power over it. She slowly stood up, her heels clicking as the elevator doors opened, a smirk on Gems face as her guest arrived. “Welcome. You’re one of the few programs invited here, to my private residence.

☠ There weren’t many things that could be used to bribe or blackmail Val; she wouldn’t take money nor did she want power or fame, she even had little regard for her own safety. But, a threat made towards someone she loved, towards Kerry, that was one of the only things that could successfully be used to get some semblance of control over her.
And that was exactly what this ‘Gem’ had done; she had threatened Kerry’s safety in order to get Val to comply and retrieve the codes she needed to further her rise to power. She knew the threats weren’t hollow, that Gem had the means to follow through with them and certainly wouldn’t hesitate to do so.
Val entered the foyer to find Gem waiting for her. “I got what you asked.” She held up the data drive containing the codes for Gem to see as she approached her. She held out the hand in which she had the drive. “Here it is. Now, that’s it, we’re done, right?”
Life outside “The Grid” was more demanding for Gem. She simply didn’t know this world like she did in her native home. Humans were a rare breed, she much liked having only a few of them to have to deal with. She wouldn’t admit it, but she actually enjoyed Val’s company -- or at least enjoyed her services. By now, Val and anyone else she allowed to be close to her, in any capacity that Gem mean what she said. But oddly, with Val, it took more than watching her violent or ruthless actions to motivate her into doing what she was told. No, the Siren had to make a direct threat to someone she loved, in order to manipulate her.
Originally, Gem seethed in anger, having to take that extra step. Gem had already decided to off her boyfriend, eventually. If for anything out of spite. But that would only be when Gem was quite done with Val. “Done? No no no, we are just getting started. Do you really want to be on my bad side, when this realm is mine?” she asked in her melodic voice. Her gloved hand gripped the flash drive, then inspected it, looking it over. “Was it difficult for you to get? Were you followed?” she asked her, before her gaze turned to the woman.

Gem had always desired to leave the Grid. Not out of safety concerns or because she had given up on the quest to seize power there. It was because she was ambitious, wanting much more than just the Grid to call her own. She knew, thanks to the Users there was a world far more vast, perhaps even more satisfying to command. She had gone through User after User before finally, her techniques worked, transporting her through the portal, to this world. It wasn’t like her home. Poverty, run down building, crime, these were all relatively foreign to her, and it took some time getting used to. But once she had, she set out to fulfill her original plans, wanting to sit atop the social hierarchy over yet another plain of existence.
Gem sat in her penthouse loft, waiting for the elevator to eventually reach her front door. She knew Val would be here, knew that she wouldn’t arrive without the item she had asked for. By now, Val had to know she would have easily played out the threat’s she’d made, as Gem had no care about others welfare, safety or mortality. She’d even get physical with Val if she needed to. Finally, the elevator dinged at her front door, announcing the arrival of her guest, Gem waiting in the front foyer for her.

More and more Users seemed to be coming on to the grid as cycles went on and on. Gem wasn’t entirely sure why that was, but it was always something she welcomed. It was only motivated by her own selfish needs and wants though. A User could be more easily manipulated, compared to most programs. They had their own desires that could be used as leverage -- namely a way home. Gem was one of the few who had some say or control in that, perhaps that was how The Siren programs had grown to prominence.
Gem was relaxing at her club, overseeing the other Siren programs working on the patrons there. She could tap into their conversations, picking up on some of them, keeping an eye on those programs that she wasn’t entirely sure of their competency. Lights flashed, cutting through the synthetic smoke that filled “Ledge”, the deep bass from the music making it so that every secret that was uttered had to be shouted in order to be heard. “A User would like a word with you,” one of her guards leaned in and asked of her. She contemplated it for a moment, the nodded, sitting at one of the couches that lined the walls, her arms stretched out across the back of it, as the User was brought forth.

{(Loosely based off of “Tron” canon, found here for more information.)}
The origins of the program is relatively unknown. For most programs, their conception isn’t as important as the duties they execute. The Siren programs are all female in appearance, perhaps as an attempt to put at ease combatants in the Games arena in the early Cycles of The Grid. However, in time, only the lowest and youngest Siren programs are given such rudimentary duties as an early stage of training for them.
Siren’s have a special skill in gaining privileged information by the use of manipulation. Their training consists of different methods, techniques and strategies to attain such sensitive information from other programs. This is usually used as leverage to move up the social hierarchy on The Grid. While some programs use brute force or physical weaponry to get what they want, Sirens are much more likely to use pragmatism over any sort of physical strong-arming. The base of operations is a 124-story building, one of the tallest in all of The Grid. It is across the Game Arena, deep in the middle of the Cityscape District. There are 18 floors underground, used as storage for identity discs the Siren’s have recovered. Most of them are there as a result of the Siren’s actions. Floors 2-90 are all training floors for the Siren’s programs. Housing doe them is found on floors 91-119, where all Siren’s are forced to reside. Floors 120, 121 and 122 are all for the use of club that Gem owns, “Ledge”. Floors 123 and 124 are for the purpose of Gem’s housing.

“The worst place to be on The Grid isn’t on my bad side. It’s to be of value to me…” This indie RP is looking for fun, talented, creative partners, to fit into a world built collaboratively. The initial setting is technically inspired from TRON, it has been drastically altered to fit my partners wants and needs. It can work as a crossover as well.

◎ This is simply a list of suggestions. I am more than open to suggests you make! Like everyone though, there are some FCs I have bad experiences with previously that I am not interested in playing opposite against again.
I do not RP with or opposite any animated, cartoon or drawn characters. I apologize, but it’s a line I do not want to cross. I do not want to send mixed messages, or for their to be any ambiguity about the age of my partners and muses I interact with. I do require real-life, adult faceclaims to interact with. ◎

nonbonum:
“I… I don’t know how many users have been here before me, your maj. I don’t claim to know what the machinations of one in your position are, or who you’ve added to your ranks before I showed.” If any of the girls downstairs were Users, she certainly couldn’t tell. None of them seemed like they were of real free will, only ever reaching toward it like they were programmed to.
“I don’t belong in this world, highness. As much as I adore the Sirens, there are ways I can help and be of service without being trapped in a completely separate realm. If I get to a keyboard I can buff your ranks, I can delete your competition, grant you admin privileges, you know? In here I’m just another tick of the hands, but out there? I’m the whole clock.” That was a horrible analogy. But, in her defense… she was very nervous and pleading for her freedom to a woman that seemed completely disgusted by her. “Haven’t I done enough, ma’am? To let you know I’m on your side?”
User’s lasted for various amounts of time on The Grid. Depending on the faction they were “adopted” by, they could exist here for one cycle or thousands. Their fate was also dependent on the faction of programs they assimilated with. Some were allowed to freely leave. Others were terminated from the plain of existence/ The Siren’s had a stringent policy: User’s never left, it was a waste of resources. Especially when it came to someone like this User. It was clear she could be of use to his faction of programs, although, her manner of speaking irked Gem. It was a mix of both casual and formal, it was difficult to decode.
“Leave here?” she asked with a lifted brow. It was clear, even with her muted facial expressions, just what she thought of that idea. It wasn’t something she enjoyed, nor would entertain. She had heard of this decree before, User’s promising allegiance once leaving. But Gem wasn’t programmed to trust such an offer. The moment they left here, all leverage was gone. The User no longer had a stake in what happened here, on the Grid, like they would if they were part of the population here. “But she didn’t want to give her thinking completely away. “Nonetheless, you’re asking for freedom. We took you in. We gave you training. I think now it’s time for you to give back to us. If you were to do something of value to us, here, then perhaps I could consider it,” she offered, turning her back to the woman, leaning on the bannister that overlooked her club.
