I'm excited to say that I have a new fic out! It was an idea I had for salvis that started back in 2020, and I just finished polishing the storyline. Chapter one is out now, and there'll be weekly updates over the weekends!

“You know you're allowed to want things, right?” There's a tinge of exasperation in Link’s voice as they traverse across the lush forest of Faron. The hero’s boots trample the underbrush, sticks snapping and rocks skidding with every step. If it wasn't for the fact that Link kept glancing to his side, he wouldn't even know the demon was beside him. He always moved with an inhuman grace. Link didn't know whether it was from his hundreds of years on the Surface, or if it came free with being a sword spirit.

“I want to serve you in the best way that I can,” Ghirahim responds, barely even looking at Link. It's the same hollow, monotone response that comes every time this topic is broached.

He doesn't understand it. This is not the same demon that he prevented from ending the world. He would be relieved if it wasn't so unnerving.

“When you were serving Demise, wasn't there anything you desired besides resurrecting him?”

Ghirahim doesn't respond, staring ahead as they continue to walk. Link squints, hand grabbing the other's arm. “Hey, I'm talking to you-”

The demon jerks away from the touch as if it was searing, finally facing Link. “Is that an order?”

Ghirahim's eyes have all but narrowed into slits, and it takes everything in Link to not back down under the smothering glare. He clenches his jaw, trying to sound stern. “If that's what it takes, yes.”

“I wanted you dead,” he sneers. “No, I wanted you worse than dead. I wanted you to beg for mercy as I dragged my blade through your pathetic, fragile body until you went limp.”

There's a moment where Link is too taken back to respond. They're locked in time, glaring at each other as the sunlight filters through the overhead leaves. It's gone suspiciously silent, other than the buzz of a few gadflies. That is, until Link lets out a snort.

“What- what are you laughing at?” Ghirahims voice becomes borderline shrill.

“This whole time I thought you were broken, thought you had turned into Fi.” Link chuckles, unable to keep the grin off his face. “When in reality, you're just so pissed off that the person you hate the most is the one that saved you.”

Ghirahim doesn't dignify him with a response.

au where Link is Ghirahim's new master after Demise is sealed, and Fi is put to rest. However, Link realizes the more he bonds with the sword spirit directly influences how well he can perform in battle. The higher opinion that Ghirahim has of him, the more likely his sword is able to hit its intended mark. The inverse is true too - if they're actively grumpy at each other, the heavier his weapon feels.

It's just funny to imagine Link forcing them to do group bonding activities that they both hate... Until they don't.

This is my fav charm I've made by far! Ghirahim and Fi have always held such a special place in my heart, and I wish there was more Skyward Sword hype.
