Lately I've been thinking about the Rosharan aquatic ecology a lot.

So much of Roshar is ocean. We see magnificent beasts of both land and sea in the books, and I can't help but wonder what in the actual fuck is living on the other side of the planet.

The reshi great shells are absolutely massive, and they're somewhat close to land.

Just imagine what's out in the far unexplored seas of Roshar.

Finished version of the Shallan sketch that I had done a while back.

The sketch was originally fanart at the time, but a few months later I was asked to do a finished version of it for Brotherwise Games.

It’s rare that I make cosmere fan art with any type of analogue medium, but it‘s been a refreshing change of pace between commissions.

Step 1: sketch on tracing paper

Step 2: applied oxidised silver leaf on paper, then carved the sketch on top of it with the tracing paper from the first step

Step 3: applied more details by adding another color of oxidized silver leaf as well as burnt copper and gold leaf

Step 4: line art with waterproof ink

Step 5: the part in which you finally paint

Step 6: last layer; this time it’s silver leaf for the wisps of stormlight.

No more steps! It’s done. 🤲

I finished Hero of Ages and was left completely speechless for 10 minutes…soooo here I am🫠 SPOILERS BELOW‼️

Sazed: Poppies for peace after conflict, hope and resilience, rest and eternal life. The two orbs besides his hands represent Ruin and Preservations power given to him.

Vin: Chrysanthemums for passion, courage truth and honesty. The halo is the same colors as Sazed’s robes to show his guidance on her in the early years and also her power that was given to him. The mist around her is different than Eland’s and Kelsier’s to show her actually pulling in the mists with her own power.

Eland: Gladiolus represent honor, courage in battle, respect and remembrance. The blue halo is the same as Vin’s sky and represent him gaining his power from the Well of Ascension. Him and Vin also mirror each other in a yin and yang pattern.

Kelsier: Tulips for freedom. The red halo is the same red as Vin’s chrysanthemums to show his martyrdom and his passion and guidance passed onto Vin.

As far as I remember the WaT flashbacks don't describe Szeth's hair in any level of detail at all, which is a bold move that all but ensured I was imagining this 11 year old as bald as the goddamn moon
