i’m reading the parts of sara’s story and her voicelines and i’m sobbing.  like actually sobbing because some of my hcs have been validated.  i love this so much.  also going to be editing her backstory a bit to match some stuff.

leaves a small box filled with an assortment of flower - shaped wagashi on sara's seat. though the box nor its contents contain any indication of who it's from, the script found on the handwritten note would undoubtedly be familiar.  

‘　take it easy, general.　’

well, this is unexpected.  the general had only stepped away for a few moments to tend to some of her subordinates but she had no idea someone else had been there in her absence.  she takes a quick glance around to see if anyone else could have been near the room she occupied, finding she truly is alone with no one else in sight.

she looks down at the small box & the accompanied note, lifting the latter to read the elegant script as her brows lift in surprise.  sara had seen that handwriting before in correspondence between the tenryou & yashiro commissions.   ‘  ayato... ?  ‘  she murmurs to herself as she sets down the note, proceeding to open the small box.

tengu is even more astonished when she sees its contents, wondering just how he knew she had a sweet tooth or if it was a lucky guess.  as much as sara adores sweets, she tries to avoid them while tending to her duties;  they make her relax far more easily than anything else.  at least she knows the wagashi are from someone honorable who wouldn’t try anything suspicious.

with the sun setting, she knows she’ll be back in her quarters soon & maybe, just maybe she’ll have one or two to help her sleep.  she’ll have to send him a letter of gratitude the following morning for the kind gesture.

✧   important things about sara.

this is sort of adding to / clarifying stuff in this post since i’ve had time to figure more things out regarding my portrayal of her.

sara is 500 years old, having been born shortly after the cataclysm.  she has no idea who her birth parents are, but she was adopted by the kujou clan not long after her birth.

she is a tengu & a demi-god.  sara was raised with the knowledge of the former but did not know about the latter until she was older, having learned it from her adoptive parents.

there was a point in time when she wandered around inazuma trying to figure out what she wanted in life before becoming a samurai & then choosing to join the tenryou commission to honor her clan.  she did not become the r.aiden s.hogun’s general until 10 years prior to current events.

✧   tengu physiology  /  abilities.

hollow skeleton  —  hollow bone structure that makes them lighter & faster than most people.  tengu are known to be some of the most agile beings in existence, able to move faster than most others.

enhanced physiology  —  all their senses are at superhuman levels, along with their strength, reflexes, durability, vision, & memory.

wing manifestation / flight  —  tengu are able to keep their wings hidden or always have them out, whichever they choose.  they’re also capable of using their wings for flight.

shapeshifting  —  some can shapeshift & change forms to get around without being noticed, though the most common one used is a crow.

luck manipulation  —  tengu are known for their good luck, bringing it to everyone they’re close to / in close proximity with.  it does have the side effect of affecting others near them, but the longest lasting luck comes to those they’re close to & spend a lot of time with.

weather manipulation  —  not all are capable of such, but the strongest tengu can change / influence the weather via their emotions.  ie:  sadness brings rainstorms, anger brings unrelenting storms.

i’ll work on yae’s page tomorrow after work but yes, she is a kitsune & has the powers of them  (such as illusions, ie y.oimiya’s voiceline about her), even keeping her tails hidden from everyone except for those she trusts explicitly.  yes i’m absolutely going into kitsune lore for her just like i am with sara.

brow raises as tengu stares at him with arms crossed over her chest.  sara didn’t plan on bringing up feelings at all, usually having enough of an idea to know how he feels about her & her about him in turn.  she has no reason to voice any concerns regarding the two of them, simply shaking her head with a sigh.

‘  i’ve never brought them up before & i had no intention to now.  ‘   she tilts her head, looking him over once more.  it’s the first time she’s seen him months & she truly had not planned on talking about feelings, though it’s good to see him again.   ‘  all i wanted to ask was how you & zaime are doing since i’d seen you last, that’s all.  nothing remotely emotional, tsu.  ‘

let it be known:  sara may be stern af when it comes to her duties as general, but with those she’s close to?  she can be a lil shit & completely unlike how most people would assume she is in private.
