Searching

Define some high-level information related to loan details and property acquisition costs. Note: Making changes to this set of search parameters won't impact your search results....yet.
Here is where changes made will impact your search results. First, start by defining the: Max Setup Cost - this is essentially asking 'what is the total amount of cash in the bank that you want to spend on buying a property?' Don't worry about trying to split-out things like stamp duty. Minimum Net Yield - what % Net Yield would you like on your property investment? This calculation takes into account the incomings (rental) and outgoings (strata, council rates, etc) for a property. Cashflow (both options) - a less important than the 2 prior filters. They allow you to limit results based on whether or not a property may return a positive or negative cashflow based on income vs. ongoing costs.
Property Filter is an optional field and allows a user to limit results based on non-financial preferences they may have, such as a house vs. an apartment or the number of bedrooms, bathrooms and carparks.

How to invest in property through View From Here
With a market capitalisation of $10 trillion residential real estate is Australia’s largest asset class. It has generated long-term returns at 6.8% for property investors for over a century.
But why aren’t there easier ways to find and choose the right investment opportunity? How come the research process is still so manual and time intensive? And why do investors have to look for property on the same platforms as owner-occupiers?
These questions drive our team to build View From Here: a new way for property investors to find residential real estate opportunities.
Here are three frequently asked questions from investors, and how View From Here answers them through our helpful property investment finding tool.
How do you find the right investment property? The number one problem for property investors. At any given time there are more than 150,000 residential properties listed for sale in Australia — but how do you find the right investment for you?
Owner-occupier focussed platforms dominate Australia’s property listing landscape. These tools have simplified the property search process, but haven’t homed in on the specific needs of investors.
The right investment property is the application of your personal financial circumstances to in-market properties. View From Here helps investors find the right investment property because our primary search parameters are property level financials — not location, or amenity.
What do I need to know to invest in real estate? A key barrier to entering the investor market is the knowledge gap. What buyers need to know to get their primary dwelling, and what buyers need to know to get an investment property can differ greatly.
View From Here closes this knowledge gap by asking prospective investors two key questions:
How much do you want to spend on an investment property? This includes the sale price, as well as other property level financials like stamp duty, rates and utilities.
What net yield return are you targeting with your investment?
View From Here’s financial search criteria gives investors a laser focus on the numbers that matter for making a sound, long term investment in residential real estate.
Our listings aren’t a static series of data points. View From Here recalculates property-level financials like setup cost, net yield and cash flow based on individual user requirements so that you can find investment opportunities in seconds.
Where should I invest in property? “Location, location, location,” takes on a different meaning when you’re a property investor. When owner-occupiers search for real estate, location means amenity for the benefit of your personal lifestyle. But, when investors search for property “location” is another indicator of potential capital gain and rental return over time.
At View From Here we’ve developed a location agnostic search tool. That means investors see properties from a range of different locations and geographical areas, opening up their investment opportunities across Australia with ease.
If you’ve made it this far, chances are you’re looking for a better way to invest in property — and so were we.
At View From Here, we’re a small but mighty team of homeowners and property investors. We want to make it easier to find and invest in residential real estate.
We’re building View From Here because we got tired of rehashing spreadsheets and calculations, and trawling through owner-occupier platforms for property.
We’re building View From Here because we want a platform that gives us a clear view of the metrics that count for investors.
