Samhain
Activities
Put up wards to keep out unwanted spirits
Put jars of salt by your door to protect your home
Sprinkle some salt in your mouth right before you go to bed to protect your dreams
Light candles to help guide spirits
Tell stories of dead relatives and friends
Write about the dead in your book of shadows
Give offerings to your ancestors
Pray at your altar
Cleanse your space with incense
Drink hot drinks
Bake bread or pies
Add fall recipes to your book of shadows
Paint and decorate pumpkins
Contact spirits through divination
Ask for advice from your ancestors
Be thankful for the food you have
Dust and tidy your altar
Look at pictures of deceased loved ones
Dress in fall colors
Go for a walk in nature, observe the leaves turning. Consider the cycles of life and death that govern our world.
Light a bonfire/small fire (safely!) and burn papers with things that no longer serve you, that you cannot afford to take into winter.
Make an offering to your deities or ancestors
Make food with seasonal ingredients symbolic of the final harvest: squashes, pumpkins, grains, apples, spices. Even wine, if you’re allowed to drink.
Prepare your home and yourself for the coldest part of the year. Redo protection spells, clean out clutter, develop sustaining spells for winter.
Reflect on the past year. What did you lose? What people left your life, what things no longer hold meaning for you? How did you change as a person?
Work with various forms of divination, like runes, pendulums, tea leaves, or tarot.
If you do work with ouija boards you better be SUPER DUPER careful. Do not neglect protections, and if you feel uncomfortable, stop, protection spells and cleanse, cleanse, cleanse.
Give some time or money to a cause you’re passionate about. If your harvest is abundant, give back to those who were not so fortunate.

After reflecting on my personal beliefs more the last, few days... I came to the conclusion that a) I am, more or less, Pagan and b) there is pandeism and, perhaps, a touch of panentheism in my beliefs.
This is what happens when I overthink too much...
I’ve been Pagan for about 14 or 15 years, but there have been many times (in recent years) where I didn’t feel like the term suited me much anymore. However, I couldn’t figure out any other terms because I do not follow any Abrahamic religions, so I’m still ‘Pagan’ by the definition.
After sitting down and trying to examine my beliefs and where I stood in things more closely today, I came to understand a reason as to why I may have felt like the term ‘Pagan’ didn’t suit me anymore.
Because while I am polytheistic, I am ultimately very secular.
I do not believe in good or evil, nor any ‘alternatives’ to that. My morality is very, very secular. I am also pretty, for lack of better terms, agnostic about an afterlife and simply choose to live my life.
Why put an importance on something I have no knowledge of and cannot have knowledge of? It’ll just impede on me living my life, really.
Along with that, I also discovered that I do not think a higher being created the universe or the world. Yet, strangely, there’s a strong part of me that also believes that it couldn’t have been created by sheer chance. Perhaps I’m also simply agnostic about the creation of the universe? But I also know, for certain, that if a higher being did create the universe… they do not interact with it or became a part of it (which does indicate that I have some deistic/pandeistic views).
I don’t know what one would define me as, but I do understand a bit better why I’ve struggled with the term Pagan for a while.
And the funny thing is, I grew up as an agnostic theist… and it’s clear to me that at my very core, I’m still that agnostic theist deep down. The only difference is that I’ve had experiences with deities and have become who I am today because of deities, so why I still sometimes find myself asking ‘how do I know this exist?’, I also will never find myself saying they don’t exist… because that would be invalidating my journey and growth.

I talked briefly about Joy of Satan on this blog, but as I was a member of the group when I was 16/17 and had to go through some deprogramming once I left (bc it is a cult), I feel it might be worth it to share some websites that are critical on Joy of Satan.
While some of these sites may be a little old, they still show the kinds of people the High Priest/ess’s are like and the harmful teachings that are behind Joy of Satan.
1. Exposing Joy of Satan (darkthrone85.org) 2. Exposing the Joy of Satan (Wordpress blog) 3. Facts of Joy of Satan (angelfire.com) [relatively old site; links in the link page seem to be broken but it does show a lot of the gross stuff in Joy of Satan and how it’s... just as bad years ago as it is today. It also was the one I found when I left JoS when I was a teen.]
There are probably more websites and posts out there, but I don’t know about them.

I want to touch briefly on the organization known as Joy of Satan:
When one doesn’t look too heavily into the site, it can appear as an almost innocuous, theistic Satanist sect that believes strongly in conspiracies... however, once you delve deeper into the site, you begin to see the anti-Semitism that lies within it. Eventually, you’ll discover that the organization also has very heavy Nazi views and perspectives - especially if you look at their forums. It is rich with Nazism and fascism.
And in my personal opinion, I believe this organization to be a cult and a dangerous one. The reason being that it does target impressionable teenagers and exposes them to a very, very dangerous ideology (nazism/fascism/anti-Semiticism).
If one is interested in learning more about Satanism, there are far better sites out there than Joy of Satan.
Additionally, if anyone who is from Joy of Satan comes across this site... please do not try to recruit me. I was once a part of JoS myself back in 2007 (for 3 months) and left because it was changing me into a hateful, racist person. I am open to talking to you, however. That being said, I can’t lie to you and tell you I won’t try to correct the misinformation and misconceptions you’ve been taught by JoS... because I will.
But the offer’s still there. You’re also free to block me.

In March, I said I wanted to make a post or video on Lucifer. During my absence from this blog, I actually managed to sit down and write a google doc about Lucifer. It’s directed towards those who wish to learn more about Lucifer and, hopefully, help dispel some misconceptions on him.
While everything in here is based on my own, personal research, I still do advise to do your own research on Lucifer. However, I do hope this document helps you in that venture!

I was going to include this in my last post, but I figured it was long enough already but...
Alongside working on a post or video of Lucifer (who he is, mythology, etc), I also want to maybe do a little educational stuff on hedgewitchery. It wouldn’t be as extensive as my (future) Lucifer post but, you know, it would be a nice thing to write.
I also really, really want to make a recommended list for Witchy and maybe Pagan books!!! I just haven’t figured out how I’m going to do that.

So, it’s been a hot minute since I posted on here, and that’s largely because I’ve been trying to figure out what I want to do with this blog. I already have a wordpress blog (Wild Witchy Dusk) where I occasionally document my experiences... but I also wanted to make this Tumblr because while Wordpress is nice and all, Tumblr does have the benefit of seeing some feedback or potentially interacting with others who have other experiences (plus more customization).
So, I’ve been mulling over whether to have this as a companion blog and crosspost some stuff here from my Wordpress or what not.
Along with that, there’s been some... significant changes in my spiritual life as of late. The entity that I initially didn’t want to name has been taking a major presence in my life as of late.
That entity’s name is Lucifer.
I have a strong feeling that Lucifer has been in my life for quite some time, probably longer than I think, but I might talk about that in a future post (by that I mean probably repost the initial post from my wordpress)..
Lucifer has been leading me into some shadow work and chipping at some of my foundations (again) and making me question what I truly want in my spiritual path. It’s been... an experience.
Before I end this long post, I also wanted to mention that I’ve been mulling over either making a video (or series of videos because I was thinking of doing it on Tiktok) or blog post (either here or on wordpress) talking more about Lucifer. It wouldn’t pop up any time soon, as I would have to gather all the information I have and, you know, figure out how I want to do it... but it’s something.
And might be a good offering to Lucifer.

Hello, everyone! My name is Tay. I’m Pagan (or a polytheist) and a witch. Here’s a quick bullet point list about me
Check out my about for more information on me
I don’t really fall under a specific ‘category’ of Pagan. I work with Norse deities, but am trying to study Celtic witchcraft (specifically Scottish), Celtic paths and some other Heathen paths.
Currently, I work with Freyja. However, I do occasionally work with Odin and Loki.
I classify myself a hedgewitch.
While I am looking into Celtic paths, Heathen paths and Celtic witchcraft because of my ancestors being from the Celtic and Germanic nations, I don’t believe ancestry is a big deal to the gods nor should determine what path you should be on. It’s just important to me to look into my ancestry or what I can find about it because it’s valuable to me.
Basically, if you believe someone can only be x if they have x blood or any idea that can fall under fascism, racism or plain and simple white supremacy then I don’t like you. Go away.
If you believe Loki is the Norse Satan then I also don’t like you and want you to go away.
Yes, I did own @spear-maiden. Yes, my real name is still Trudie and yes it still can mean Spear Maiden or Spear of Strength.
Also funnily enough, I discovered Þrúðr/Thrud (which I think my name originates from) is the name of Thor’s daughter and also a Valkyrie. Not that it’s important... I just thought it was neat.
Anyways, hi!
