Dropping the latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members for July! Featuring Rune and Gideon from Crimson Moth (Heartless Hunter) by @kristenciccarelli ! I went a bit abstract this with, and dropped some hidden imagery in Rune's hair for fun! This was another book I was sitting on waiting for the sequel, but finally jumped into it for this vote! Had a fun time with this one (Gideon, you tortured soul! 😢) Now with the major shift in status quo at the end, looking forward to the sequeeeel, Rebel Witch!

My High Lady

@freyjas-musings and I wanted to bring to life the iconic scene where Rhys takes Feyre to select a crown for her first official meeting as High Lady. The scene depicts Feyre coming into her own and truly embracing the title and we love it!

The amazing artist for this piece is @: gessueter! What can I say , we have seen her grow into one of the most promising, talented artist within the book fandom , every artwork of hers is a masterpiece and so beautifully depicted. Latest Sketch-a-Wish voted on by my lovely Patreon members for September, featuring Elspeth and Ravyn from ONE DARK WINDOW by Rachel Gillig! I don't know about you all, but I got Pride vibes (from Full Metal Alchemist) with The Nightmare and so paid a little homage to that here. I know functionally it would be more like Greed/Ling, but the patient and lethal personality reminded me of Pride.

Some of yall should genuinely just get on with your lives. The whole point of being in a fandom and investing time in a fantasy series is to have fun right? I have my own set of issues with the series but if my grievances outweighed my enjoyment then I wouldn't be endlessly yapping about it. One rant review at most and I'm moving on to something I DO love. Anti author, anti plot, anti most characters, anti anti anti. At what point do you just admit to yourself that even thinking about this series is making you miserable?

The biggest issue with the "critical" side of the acotar fandom is that very few offer any suggestions on how the books could be improved. They latch on to certain characters that they either identify with or feel have been wronged by other characters, making post after post on why x character "deserves better", why x character is actually a trump-adjacent dictator (and yes, you should feel bad for liking them), without considering any nuance or how characters are plot devices before they are "people." Their concern doesn't seem to be with the quality of the books/world building but that their favorite character who they deeply relate to is being used in a certain way that they don't like, without offering any type of interesting analysis or suggestions. In fact, the only suggestions they do make are objectively absurd considering who SJM's favorite characters are (you're never gonna see the entire IC getting killed off, sorry!) You can't be mad that you're surrounded by people who DO see the appeal of the main pairing when the entire selling point of the book series is enemies to lovers/villain gets the girl. And don't be mad when people just see you as goofy contrarians who don't have the critical thinking skills to provide an actual good critique of the series, nor have the creativity to write good fan fiction (if it's the potential of the series you're so concerned with)
