I was wondering if you'd perhaps have any fluffy HC's about romanced verso? It's hard for him to open up of course but I feel like once he does, he's got a hard time keeping his hands off his partner. Soft, adoring neck kisses, literally throwing himself in front of a nevron to protect them, running to the other edge of the continent just to grab flowers for them levels of sappy. SFW/Fluffy Verso Dessendre as your BF Headcanons

As mentioned before in my other hc, Verso is a very emotionally guarded person. He's lost more than he's loved, and for that he's constantly terrified of becoming close to others in any capacity, as it means he could put them in death's way. You'll notice him always hesitating to touch you, or hesitating to say something that could border on being more than a playful and platonic quip, and something that goes into a deeper, more romantic territory.

So many stolen glances. Expect Jane Austen novel male lead levels of yearning, longing, and pining. Verso will look at you every time he thinks you're not looking, and he'll often admire you from afar. He's also often subtly teased by Monoco or Maelle for this.

Also, as you mentioned, this man's self sacrificial tendencies (i.e.: his burden skill) means that even a light breeze will kick his protective instincts into overdrive and he'll tank almost any hit for you. He's immortal anyway, so no harm done, right?

Wrong. You get stressed the fuck out whenever Verso takes a hit for you (because it happens fairly often...) and you almost always give him an earful for too willingly hurting himself just so you don't get injured. This also always results in you taking care of his wounds, which is probably why he keeps doing it.

Verso is an incredibly reliable person, because he's had to live off the land for so long, he will always have food cooked and camp set up before others are back. He definitely is the fastest at doing this compared to anyone else who is rostered for setting up camp, and is happy to take on the task when someone else is tired.

On a deeper note, acts of service are also one of Verso's love languages - doing the cooking, cleaning, and throwing himself in front of danger; when he can't find his words, his actions will speak for him.

When things move past a platonic stage, Verso isn't hesitant to touch you. In fact, the man is incredibly touch starved, in both giving and receiving physical affection. Verso is a cuddler, so you have almost no use for your own bedroll now and you just share one with Verso.

For reference, big spoon or little spoon - he loves being both equally. Verso likes any form of physical contact when it comes to sleeping with you. However, he most prefers when he's sleeping on his back and your head is on his broad, muscular chest - it makes him feel like he can protect you the easiest this way, and he can also make sure you doze off and get a proper rest.

Interestingly, when you started to share the same bed as Verso, his nightmares drastically decreased. When he does get them, he will instinctively reach for you as soon as he wakes up.

Once you get together, Verso will only stay by your side. Despite the impracticality, he loves to hold your hand while walking when it's safe to do so. When it's a very safe area, he'll sling his arm over your shoulders as you walk, sometimes pulling you in so he can plant a small kiss to your temple.

In fact, just almost no concept of personal space with you two. Verso has found his person after so many years without someone by his side - you're often leaning on each other when you sit together, or in more intimate settings, you're usually sitting in his lap or he's leaning back seated between your legs. You also have a habit of kicking your feet up over his lap, and he'll absentmindedly massage your legs instinctively.

If anyone has watched the Challengers movie - the scene where Tashi is holding Art's head in her hands. Yep. That is Verso. If you hold his head in your hands, he looks at you with the sweetest puppy dog eyes. You're his entire world.

Verso's favourite spots to kiss you are your temple/forehead, your cheek, your shoulder blade, knuckles (especially if you've bruised them from beating up nevrons), and of course, your lips.

I think Verso's body temperature would run a bit warmer, and in the world, the elements are quite harsh and near the seaside most of the time, so you tend to run a bit colder as you're not used to the climate. Verso will always warm up your hands with his, or give you his jacket when he notices you're feeling the chill in the air.

Verso loves to stroke or rub your back as a way to soothe you. When you're sitting close to the campfire or you're in his bedroll, he will rub your back either through your shirt or underneath it.

Verso's favourite soothing action to receive is his hair being played with - mainly being stroked or your nails gently dragging through his scalp. When you do this, he'll also lean into your touch.

Speaking of hair - if anybody lays even a hair on your head, Verso will obliterate them into pieces. He means business when it comes to you.

Verso wouldn't even yell or make a scene. It would be a generational crash-out from him which is fueled by almost entirely silent rage.

If you and Verso get into a disagreement or argument, the anger doesn't linger at all with him. The man has had a long time of reflecting and has been through so much that he's incredibly perceptive and sensitive to others emotions. He does sometimes struggle to communicate what he's feeling and prefers to bottle his own emotions up, so he definitely needs the encouragement and more time to speak his mind.

He does also like to tease (and I mean that in every way), so banter with Verso is always going to be good. He's a very funny guy. Although he's an immortal old man who's been jaded by past experiences, his humour is something that has stayed with him throughout. He's not afraid to make a fool of himself and he's always ready to crack jokes so that he can see a smile on your face. The both of you end up with a ton of inside jokes - the rest of the team have given up on trying to decipher what all your inside jokes mean.

Also, more on hair (I'm not sure what it is with me writing about Verso and hair) but the man can give a good haircut. If Monoco isn't available, Verso is your other hairdresser. Also he can canonically braid hair - sometimes he will just play with your hair and make some interesting, intricate braided hairstyles when you're both sitting by the campfire or sitting together in your downtime.

Speaking of the flowers you mentioned! Verso would most definitely find beautiful flowers and other interesting trinkets for you. I also think that you would make them into something else - for example, you will dry and press the flowers he picks you, and turn it into bookmarks that you both use!

For some reason, Verso loves to playfully tickle you just to see a smile on your face. He also very much allows you to tickle him back when he's been too serious for too long.

Expect the sappiest, most heartfelt things from him. He'll compose multiple pieces for you, and he will jump at the chance to take you to any beautiful spot whenever possible to make memories with you.

Verso... Our complicated king :( Let's start off with his demeanor and outlook.

Verso would need a high level of trust with another person for intimacy. He's seen the fragility of life and he's mourned more times than he can count on both of his hands. He can't treat relationships casually.

He's also a very emotionally guarded guy, so falling for someone and intimacy is a large leap. It means once he's in, he's all in.

I strongly believe Verso is a yearner and he'll wait until the very last possible moment to reveal his feelings if you don't reveal them first. He'd much rather yearn for you from afar with stolen glances and featherlight grazes against your hand.

I would honestly assign Verso's demeanor to be most like a puppy, or from a sadder angle, a dog with a wound, surviving out in the harsh climate. He's so desperate for any type of affection, but he's been previously scorned and he struggles to let himself give in to affection and intimacy at the start.

Verso is really interesting because the man can definitely flirt, and he would have no trouble with dating or getting someone's attention. But he tries to hold himself back all the time. So when he's trying to flirt with you and seduce you, this looks like...

Taking any possible opportunity to touch you even when it's innocent. He'll keep finding excuses under the guise of being chivalrous or wanting to help others in need, but his touches with you seem to linger a little bit longer. He'll hold on to your hand to help you up just that bit longer, if you stumble or you look like you're about to trip, he's there steadying you by the small of your back.

Verso has such pretty icy blue eyes, and they're contrasted so beautifully by his inky black hair. The contrast in his features makes his stare so intense, that it becomes difficult to hold eye contact with him without getting yourself all flustered. And he knows the effect that it has on you. It's why he keeps on doing it.

He'll find any excuse to reach over you and be almost mere millimeters away from your body. Bonus points if he gets to speak in your ear quietly while he's already so close to you in proximity.

Verso isn't quick to do much more than fleeting touches, but when he's feeling a little more brave, he'll find excuses to hold onto you. He especially likes to hold you by your waist, especially when it involves sitting while you're standing, because he loves it when he can lean on your hip or stomach while your fingers rake through his hair.

Taking it further, he's definitely into kissing and biting your neck to seduce you. He'd tease you for ages, planting hot, wet, open-mouthed kisses and barely skimming your skin with his fingertips until you take matters into your own hands. The man 100% enjoys teasing.
