I like my little hat that Klout gave me. It's kind of cocked to the the side with a subtle +K embroidered on it. This hat is to notify other Klout users that I am influential about a certain topic. The topic in this instance is #Vegas! I tweet a lot about Vegas and "seemingly" know what I'm talking about.

That's where it becomes interesting. There are many ways to "game" the system. A friend of mine, @Mitzula, wanted to become an expert on #bacon. So every tweet, whether it was about bacon or not, went out with the hashtag #bacon. It took him about a week before he was labeled an expert or "influencer" about bacon. Is he? Maybe. Do his tweets reflect that? Not in the slightest.

Back to my little hat. In this case, I am an Influencer on #Vegas. In fact, I monitor both the #Vegas and #LasVegas hashtags and answer questions or give advice when asked. I've recommended shows, hotels, clubs, restaurants, off-strip activities for both tourists and locals alike. I have made myself an ambassador of sorts.
