@percildanweek 2024 day 3: Modern AU / Sickfic / Glasses

The week continues !! Two prompts today :) The boys in a modern setting being an absolute fool and a bit of an asshole😅 For this day I did the sketch, and @cara-kira did the lines and coloring!

Percy X Vax, Fluff

Percy walked into the kitchen at 2 am, grabbing the pot of coffee that he had brewed not minutes ago when he heard the distinct sound of metal hitting a whetstone. He walked into the armory to find Vax'ildan sitting crossed legged with a bucket of water next to him, sharpening his daggers with pure precision.

He was almost hit with a sense of safety as he watched the other man work.

"Are you mad?" He asked, not wanting to interrupt but the man looked like something was bothering him. "No." Came the curt response from the half-elf. "So, shaperning knives at 2am is just a hobby of yours?" He chuckled, walking into the room and placing a second cup of coffee next to Vax, who took it and sipped deeply from it.

"Why are you awake so early?" Vax asked and Percy had to laugh. "Never went to bed." He answered, sitting down on the chair that was in the room looking at Vax work. He was tedious about it, taking snippet after snippet off the blade before checking it over and redoing where he found a mistake or a blunt edge.

"Hmm, nightmares?" Vax asked him, a knowing look in his eye. The Briarwoods had been defeated not long ago, they had some time to calm down and just settle into the keep but something kept nagging at Percy's concious.

"You could say that." Percy answered before taking a sip from his coffee. "You?"

Vax hummed and stopped sharpening his daggers, sighing deeply and leaning against the wall before he looked at Percy. "Not being in control of your body 3 times in one week can do a lot to a person.." He answered honestly and Percy was taken aback by it.

He knew that Vax had been under the influence of the vampire Sylas and he knew how that could feel but he hadn't expected the half-elf to be so affected by it, it almost seemed like nothing affected the half-elf at all, unless if it was about Vex'ahlia.

"So, you sharpen your blades and make sure nothing like that will happen again?" He asked, sipping his coffee, he himself had a similar coping mechanism. He drew up ideas for a new weapon one that wouldn't fail on him as many times as the old prototype did, one with range.

"Well, it's better than sleeping and seeing him again." He muttered, finishing his coffee and sighing deeply, he was still tired and he knew he needed sleep but Vax felt like he couldn't sleep without someone to keep watch.

The keep felt weird, even though it was theirs it didn't feel like home yet. The warmth coming from the coffee and the company made him feel more tired than he had felt in weeks and he felt himself slowly falling asleep, going into a restless sleep where the nightmares didn't seem to haunt him.

As Vax woke slowly he felt rested and warm, as he shifted the blanket around him shifted with him... He didn't remember taking a blanket with him so he was suddenly wide awake.

He looked around the room, finding Percy with his back turned to him, tinkering on something and trying to do it quietly. He looked down to see the human's jacket around him, keeping him warm as he slept.

Vax felt the blush rise to the tips of his ears as he realised Percy had covered him in his jacket while he slept and as he looked to the left of him he found his daggers neatly arranged with the hilt easily in reach if he needed them quickly.

He breathed out, and it seemed to tell Percy that he was awake since he turned around, smiled softly at him and asked if he had slept alright.

Vax nodded, not knowing how to make words work and he quickly looked away not wanting the human to see his blush. Percy chuckled and Vax knew he was caught.

He gently pulled the jacket closer and snuggled into the fabric, smelling the soft scent of gunpowder, metal and smoke.

"Thank you, Percy."

Giving me fic ideas already...

vax loves to poke fun at percy for being all royal and prissy but really hes a complete sucker for the fact that percy, as noble and proud as he is, isnt afraid to get his hands dirty. perfect, royal percy rolls his sleeves up his arms and works the forge for hours on end. beautiful percy with his pristine suits comes out of his workshop with heat radiating off his body, sweat soaking his white button downs and soot smudging his fair skin. proper percy smells of gunpowder—probably tastes faintly of metal—and it makes vax melt like iron, moldable at percys fingertips. when vax sees percy with a furrow in his brow, sleeves rolled up, gun cocked with a trigger finger at the ready?? vax is more than willing and ready to bow down, a mere devotee.

I go on here by Vax'ildamn and I am a writer! I wanted to go on here and share some of my writing in time, I am currently a lot into Vax x Percy and together with my beautiful girlfriend I am roleplaying a lot which gives me a lot of interesting ideas! I do like the dead dove do not eat tag but will always tag in the beginning of the story to make sure you know what you're getting into!
