HELLO EVERYONE
I have a new keyboard again, and I absolutely love typing on it and would love to get back into writing now that life has actually settled down a bit more.
Currently, I'm incredibly interested in Persona 3 Reload, and I'm absolutely in love with Akihiko. So, if anyone wants to send prompts, I should be able to get to them! They might not be the normal length my past ones have been, but I've really been itching to write recently.
Thanks everyone for sticking by me!!

Hey guys! I'm still around, I just haven't been writing as much recently since my job has been keeping me very busy. I haven't really gone insane about anything recently, but I'll be sure to post some more stuff here to keep this blog more active.
Also, if you would like to follow my main, I'm @vaughndotexe! If you would like to keep up with some posts that remind me of my characters, that's going to be over on @vaughndotocs!
Thanks everyone for sticking around. I hope to write some stuff soon!

phoenix knows shakespeare and uses it to cover up his gay thoughts
read it on the AO3 at https://archiveofourown.org/works/48240685

“Wright.”
He nearly jumps out of his skin, looking over with a nervous grin. “Yes?”
“You have been non stop shaking your leg, and you haven’t been listening to a word I’ve been saying. Do tell, what has your mind so preoccupied that you cannot focus on the case you requested my help on?” Edgeworth asks, leaning back a bit and adjusting his glasses on his nose.
Fuck. He cannot and will not admit that his thoughts had been about Miles and how nice he smells and how close theyre sitting. He can’t. So, he panics and blurts out the next thing that comes to his mind.
“Shakespeare.”

Your Adaman content has been giving me LIFE 😭💕 So I'm going to be selfish and ask for more soft worried Adaman x Reader.
「Adaman finding the reader collapsed (either from illness or poison or maybe both idk) a fair way away from the diamond settlement, trying to keep them responsive on the way back to the settlement and reassuring the weak reader who is profusely apologising for being so careless and wasting his time」
Apologies if that's too specific, I'd write it myself but I can't write anything interesting for the life of me 😅
PS: I'm so happy to find someone who writes amazing, consistent gender neutral readers. Being a trans male I find it hard to read x fem!reader fics, which is what most of the Adaman x reader fics tend to be
i got this ask literally months ago but i will work on it!! some people have been very encouraging when it comes to my writing and it's made me want to write more recently because of it ♥ it's not too specific at all! usually asking for a little bit more specific of a prompt helps me get the inspiration to finally write it out sdjkdjdjd
and hey brother, same here!! the reason i started writing self-inserts again is because of the lack of they/them self inserts. like, okay, i understand that it's hard sometimes and some people write self-inserts for themselves rather than others — but being inclusive helps out a lot with people like you and me who are trans men.
also because tropes like (Y/N) and "(e/c) eyes" always pull me out of the story personally, so i keep any defining detail vague so i don't isolate anyone from the story. we include and love everyone around these parts ♥

Stressed Out
adaman x reader
(after a hell of a long hiatus, i am back from the dead! kinda. so, i'm not going to promise anything anymore as i apparently never know when inspiration is going to strike, and i never know where the hyperfixation will take me. i was trying to get this out for nine months now, but this was... not coming until tonight. sorry y'all for the wait, but here it is after all this time! also, this is my longest one to date. the others barely scratched 1000 words, some managing 1700, but this one... is a beast. it's near 3000 words. the inspiration to write struck me hard. hope you guys enjoy! )
reader is gender-neutral. they/them pronouns will be used if any pronouns at all.
finally, i bring to you this prompt
—
Everything was overwhelming.
The past few weeks, the stress had been mounting as you fought tooth and nail to be seen as an asset rather than a nuisance. You wore yourself down to the bone, putting your heart and soul trying to please everyone so the suspicion would die down only for it to mount more and more with people with each passing day. You had already been cast out once, and earned your way back into the Galaxy team. So why were people still suspicious? How much would you have to do to gain everyone’s trust? Why did you constantly have to fight for everyone’s approval?
Why did the other clan leaders believe in you more than your own clan did?
All you craved was somewhere to call home again. Somewhere you could rest your head at night and simply sleep, rather than spending all your time being anxious about one wrong perceived move and you’d be kicked out of the village again. The stress felt like it was piling up on your already tense shoulders, and you felt so overwhelmed.
Everything was overwhelming.
Instead of slamming your fists into the first and cursing everyone to please, for the love of all that is holy, give me some credit — you got to work. Like always.
You’d overheard about a Zorua outbreak in the Alabaster Icelands, which was exactly what you needed. A young man in the village had asked to see the completed entry for Zorua, so this would be the perfect opportunity to finally cross this Pokemon off your to-do list. So, off you set toward the Pearl Clan settlement so you could check in in case something goes wrong. Even though you were far more trusting of Pokemon than others around you, you still didn’t underestimate the ones that were absolutely ready to kill you in a moment’s notice. Alpha Pokemon were far more angry than any other Pokemon you’d come across in your time.
Arriving in the Pearl settlement, the snow softly crunching under your boots, you hear not one, but two familiar voices to the side. Oh, Adaman is here as well. You vaguely remember them talking about a meeting about… something about traditions, or something? The details were fuzzy. You have been focusing far more on your own tasks and stresses than anything else.
Irida noticed your presence almost immediately and smiles, waving you over. Adaman joined along when he sees you as well.
“Well, our favourite Galaxy member is here! How are you?”
“I’m good, Irida, thank you.” You offer her a kind smile, keeping all your stresses tucked away neatly into a corner of your mind. Put them in a box, and file it away. Not the healthiest coping mechanism, but one that’ll at least get you through this. “How are you guys doing?”
“We’re just discussing our cultures and possibly having a party to mingle the clans a little easier,” Adaman responded easily, throwing up his three fingers as a hello with his signature grin that never fails to make you smile in return.
“Sounds like fun.”
“It isn’t.”
“Hey!” Irida responded, stomping her foot down with her hands clenched at her sides. “I’m not the one being unreasonable!”
“Yeah yeah,” he waved her off, then turned his attention toward you. “What brings you here?”
“There’s a Zorua outbreak around the Bonechill Wastes area, and I wanted to complete my research on this guy while I still have the chance.” You neglected to tell them someone from Galaxy wanted the information as well.
Adaman raised an eyebrow. “Shouldn’t you have someone to come along with you?”
You opened your mouth to say no before Irida cuts in. “You volunteering? Provided you don’t freeze to death first,” she teased as she jabs him in the ribs playfully, and grinned at his responding yelp and pout. “Jesting aside — you really should have someone to accompany you. An Alpha Glalie tends to roam that area, and no one has dared to come close to it. It seems really powerful. I wouldn’t be comfortable with you going alone.”
Adaman pursed his lips in thought. “Yeah, now that you mention it, I feel like I’ve gotten a glimpse of that Glalie before.” He turned to Irida. “You said no one has come close to it before to know its true strength?”
She shook her head. “We’ve all been too scared to try.”
“I’m sure it won’t be a problem for me,” you interjected, trying to quell their fears. “After everything I’ve faced, it feels like I should be dead at minimum four times over.”
The clan leaders share a glance to each other. It seems they’re talking through just their looks, but what they could possibly be communicating is lost on you. “Adaman, please go with them. I would go if I didn’t have a meeting later on that I cannot miss. But I know you’ll keep them safe.”
“Do I get a say in this?”
“No,” both clan leaders respond at the same time.
You were split on this decision. Deep down, you did really like Adaman — and not just as a friend. Any time spent with him you keep near and dear to your heart. His smile that could light up a room and his long hair that you wanted to card your fingers through. But with the stress you’ve been under and how overwhelmed you’ve been, you’re unsure if you can handle a couple hours of him bitching about how cold it was. One too many comments and you weren’t sure if you could keep it all bottled anymore.
Yet, you also knew having someone with you would be more helpful than not. You didn’t know how strong the Zorua were going to be after all. If they ended up being feisty and ganged up on you, there’s no way you’d leave the battle unscathed. Add an Alpha Glalie to the mix and you’d be dead as dust in less than a heartbeat. You weighed your options (which, technically, they weren’t giving you any) and finally caved in. You weren’t gonna win this fight anyway. “Think you can talk about more than how cold it is?”
“I’m sure I can come up with something. But if it wasn’t so damn cold I wouldn’t complain about it all the time.”
“It’s not even that cold!” Irida scoffed, throwing her hands in the air. “I don’t know how you don’t boil over in the Crimson Mirelands!”
“It’s barely warm enough there for me. It can get really cold by the water, y’know.”
“You’re both impossible,” you cut in to break off the sibling-esque fighting before it can truly start. “Now c’mon, I wanna get going before it gets dark outside.”
And off you and Adaman went, hands in your respective pockets.
You didn’t expect to fall in love with the Zorua like you did.
They were so cute with their flowy hair and expressive eyes. Most were on the attack if they saw you, but crouching down from a good distance away and just watching seemed to be okay. One had strayed away from the group toward you and Adaman, and you both held your breath so it wouldn’t notice you. It failed, as it did notice you, but it didn’t seem to be angry. It walked up to you slowly, and out of habit you gave it your hand to sniff so it wouldn’t see you as a threat.
It rubbed the side of its head against your hand, causing you to smile from ear to ear.
“You really do have a way with Pokemon, don’t you?” Adaman commented, watching everything with a small smile of his own. “They just trust you so implicitly. It’s one of the many things I love about you.”
Your cheeks went up in flames at the compliment, but the cold would cover it up as they were already pretty red. “I think they can just sense that I’m not here to harm them.” You started to pet the Zorua behind its ear, causing its eyes to close. “Sometimes I feel like they’re the only ones that can.”
“What do you mean?”
Oops. You hadn’t meant for this to be a therapy session. “I just… I don’t know. I guess it feels like humans always think they’re about to be betrayed, stabbed in the back. One wrong move and you’re crucified. But Pokemon… They don’t seem to be that way. Some Pokemon can sense a good person when they see one. That seems to be… a lot more rare in humans.”
“I know you’re a good person,” Adaman said softly, putting one hand on your arm.
Before you can even think about a response or the fact he’s showing a more sensitive side of himself to you, a noise catches the three of you off guard.
“Shit,” you breathe, feeling your entire body freeze with fear. “The Alpha.”
You both bounce to your feet as the Alpha comes over the hill behind the Zorua and Adaman. You can see the Glalie is pissed off that people are invading its territory, and wants to get rid of the intruders. An ice beam begins to form, and before you can think, you jump in front of Adaman and the Zorua.
The blast hit you in full force.
Your fingers and feet go completely numb almost immediately, though it almost feels like you’re not even cold anymore. You almost feel warm, actually, and you know that’s an incredibly bad sign. The sky is a beautiful haze of orange and purple as the sun is setting behind the clouds, and for a moment you just take in the colours swirling in your vision. It feels like everything has a layer of clouds over it, and your mind feels stuffed full of cotton. Oh, this is probably a very bad sign.
You can hear a call of your name, as warbled and muffled as you heard it, but can’t really respond to it. Adaman lifted your torso and pressed your back against his chest, his arms wrapped around you with his haori encasing you against him. The Zorua was curled in your lap, and you just felt… warm. You try to say thank you, but your lips feel tingly. Funny. You know you’re slurring even if you can’t hear much yourself. You try your hardest to communicate one word to Adaman.
“Camp.”
With that, though, you go unconscious.
—
You have no idea how much time has passed, but the next thing you know, you’re nice and warm in a tent. Blankets are stacked on top of you, and the fire in the furnace is crackling softly. You’re cozy and warm, but something feels… different. You sit up a bit, and promptly look down.
Oh. You’re definitely not wearing the clothes that you were wearing when you were out hunting for Zorua. You were wrapped up in a yukata that you didn’t recognise, but definitely knew the pearl clan symbol and colours. You wrapped it closer to yourself, then wrapped the blankets around you tightly for warmth. The clothes you had been wearing were hanging over a rack by the stove, seemingly drying off after the long day they’d been through.
You didn’t really know what to do. You’re not even sure what you managed to accomplish for research, or what you’re wearing, or what time it is, or really… anything. You don’t know anything that’s happened since you were out with Adaman. Now, it seems you’re alone in this little area.
The tears fall before you even really mean them to.
When the first teardrop hit your hand, you realised what’s going on. The stress of everything was finally boiling over now that you feel comfortable and safe. You’re confused, but you’re comfortable and safe which is all you’ve wanted to feel for a while.
You allowed yourself to cry.
Trying not to be loud, you cry silently to yourself while wrapped up in blankets and the yukata, pulling the items tightly against you so you feel swaddled. You rock back and forth and let yourself have your small breakdown.
Until Adaman popped open the tent flaps to check on you, apparently.
Almost immediately your hands fly to your face to cover your tear-tracked cheeks and red eyes, burying your face into the softness of the blanket. You don’t say anything, and neither does he. But all it takes is him walking up and gently touching the top of your hair before you break completely.
The stress of everything came boiling over the edge, the fear of almost dying, the unknown of whether the research you obtained was enough to complete the entry on Zorua, whether you would have a home to go back to in Galaxy. Everything boiled up and you pressed the top of your head into Adaman’s stomach to cry.
He rubbed your back and shoulders gently as you sobbed, gently shushing you and reassuring you that you were safe, you were okay, everyone was okay. He was the much-needed rock in your mind to cling to so your head stayed above the water of emotions. Everything was going to be fine.
Everything was going to be fine.
Eventually your tears slowed and your breathing evened out, pulling away from Adaman to give him room and let him back up if he wanted. (You couldn’t help but notice he didn’t.) “I’m sorry. I didn’t… mean to break down.”
“You’ve been through a lot today, it’s understandable why you would.” Adaman sat down on the bed next to you and handed you a towel to wipe your face. “You’re in a spare tent right now, one they have set out for visitors or harmed individuals found in the wild. Do you remember what happened?”
You nodded, refusing to speak any words.
“You really scared me, y’know. When I saw that ice blast hit you, I… I saw you skid backward in the snow, and your lips were already blue. That was one of the scariest moments of my life, but I’m glad I went with you to keep you safe. Makes me want to go everywhere with you to always make sure you’re safe.”
An eyebrow raised as you look at him. “Wouldn’t that be a waste of your time?”
“Saving you wasn’t a waste of time. And I’d do it all over again, and again, just to keep you safe.”
You’re stunned speechless. You don’t know how to respond with words, so you do the next best appropriate thing — hug him. It starts as a side hug that quickly develops into a full hug, and by the way you’re both gripping each other… it seems neither one of you wants to let go.
“Adaman…” you whispered, holding him tightly. “Thank you. I couldn’t ask for a better —” you pause. You can’t say friend. He’s more than a friend at this point, in your heart, but that’s not something you can say. “— for a better person in my life. You’ve been so helpful to me, and I just… I’m so thankful for you.”
You can feel him smile against your shoulder, which makes you smile. “And I, you.”
He pulled back from the hug slowly, as if he was fighting himself. But he let go and instead stood up, grabbing the bowl he’d at some point set on the counter next to you. “I brought this in to try and wake you up to get something in your stomach, when… well, y’know.” Adaman rubbed the back of his neck. “You should get some warm food in your system though. It’ll help out.”
You grabbed the bowl of what appears to be some sort of soup, and you’re glad to have something else besides potato mochi to eat tonight. “Thank you.”
As you began to eat your soup, Adaman began to explain everything. “So that Zorua you saved came back with us. It’s sleeping with all your Pokeballs in Irida’s tent so she could keep an eye on them, and so they didn’t try to warm you too fast.” Ah, that explained the lack of Pokeballs with your clothes. “That Zorua seems pretty attached. I think you found yourself a new buddy.”
Both of you talk about the Zorua, about the research of all types of Pokemon and how it’s all going, talk about how cold it is and how much warmer the Crimson Mirelands is, how the clan meeting seems to be coming along well even through the bickering Irida and him do. Eventually, you finish your soup and set the bowl onto the chest next to you. Adaman clears his throat and begins to stand.
“It’s about time for sleep, so I guess I’ll —”
“Please stay with me.”
Adaman’s eyebrows shot through the sky as he looked at you. “What?”
“Please, stay with me. I could use another person here so I’m not… I’m not alone.” You bowed your head. “And I don’t want you to go. But if you do, I understand.”
Hands rest on your shoulders and you looked up, meeting his eyes and matching his smile. “I would love nothing more than that. I don’t want to leave your side. Not now, not…” he stopped, but you finished it.
“Not ever?”
He smiled warmly, and it warms your soul. “Not ever.”
“Then stay with me. Tonight, at least. We’ll figure out the rest later.”
“You got it.”
He slid under the blankets with you, and without a second thought, you curled up next to him for warmth. You were warm, but after how cold you were today… warm didn’t seem to be enough. Adaman’s arms wrapped around you protectively, and with your head on his chest, the sound of his heartbeat gently lulled you into a peaceful slumber.

Could you do an Adaman x reader where the reader asks Adaman to go on a mission with her to find an outbreak of Zorua to study them, but things take a surprising turn when an alpha Galalie attacks them suddenly and the reader shields Adaman and a stray Zoura but ends up nearly freezing and Adaman tries to warm her up?
Since these two requests are very similar, I will combine them and get right on this! I will start writing tomorrow as it's my day off from work, and hopefully get it out to you by the end of the day!
also Y'ALL THE WAY I GASPED WHEN I SAW THESE i am about to CRY you guys are the BEST ♥♥

heads up but im pretty sure the reason your second fic didn’t do as well is because it never showed up in the adaman tag
Yeah, I figured that out last night when I went to my 'vaughnwrites' tag and saw it wasn't there. I don't think it's showing up in any tags, which is mildly frustrating.
Did Tumblr eat it or something?? I don't know how tagging works anymore. Stuff has changed a lot since the last time I posted stuff!
Thank you for letting me know though!! ❤️❤️

Sleep-Deprived
adaman x reader
( i'm back! again! i refuse to shut up. plus i got a new keyboard specifically for writing and it clicks so well but it's not overly loud, so i'm very much enjoying writing again purely to type more on this keyboard. i am a simple man with simple needs. also this is sort of a self-call out post bc i didn't go to bed until like 5am one night because i was trying to complete the pokedex, and i never sleep in the game, so this was born from that. hope you enjoy! )
reader is gender-neutral. they/them pronouns will be used if any pronouns at all.
—
“How long has it been since you’ve slept?”
The question made you stop dead in your tracks. Your lips pulled between your teeth as you thought legitimately about the answer. How long had it been? At least two nights. You’d stayed to try and catch the Pokemon that seemed to appear only at night, as you only needed a few more before the Laventon could complete the Pokedex entry. But during the day, you were buzzing with energy and delight as you heard about a couple of hordes forming in the area, desperate to try and find one that looked much different to the others.
Your form straightened as you turned back to face Adaman, crossing your arms over your chest. “I’m fine,” you responded carefully since you really couldn’t remember. The days at this point were blurring together.
Adaman’s facial expression showed he clearly wasn’t impressed with that answer, his eyes squinting at you as his lips formed a thin line. Mirroring your stance, his arms crossed over his own chest. “That doesn’t answer my question.”
“Why?”
“Your eyes betray you. They’re puffy and dark.” Adaman returned to his normal stance, one hand on his hip while the other shoved into his pocket. His face, instead of that little lighthearted smirk he normally wore, showed dismay and concern. “You’re unfocused. You’re zoning out more than normal, and you’ve repeated your Paras story three times.” One eyebrow raised as if daring you to challenge him. “You need to get some sleep.”
You felt your face grow warm as you look down toward your shoes, rolling some rocks under the ball of your foot as you shove your hands into your pockets roughly. “It’s a waste of daytime. I’ll sleep tonight.” In an attempt to end the conversation, you began to turn away. “Plus I have more research to do,” you mumbled as you started to walk away. Adaman caught your arm.
He pulled you close to him, both hands on your shoulders as he forces you to face him. Brown eyes bore deeply into yours, pleading. “No. You’re going to get yourself killed if you try to go out when you’re like this. Sleeping is not a waste of time.”
Adaman’s hands started to drop from your shoulders, but stopped and hesitated. It looked like he was fighting himself on something. You acted on pure instinct and automation at that point, as you brought your hands up to cover his in comfort. This spurred him forward, pulling you closer into a hug similar to what an Ursaring might give you.
This was the first time he’d ever hugged you. You froze for a second, brain trying to catch up to the situation before you reciprocate the hug. You knew he was worried, but this seemed to be on a different level than before. Maybe there’s a story you didn’t know hidden behind all of that. You knew he cared about you, as he cared for all his clan and people he was close to. He cared about everyone deeply, even if he didn’t show it right away.
Both of you just held onto the hug for a while, rocking back and forth slightly as you rest your head on his shoulder. Neither of you said a word as you slightly rocked side to side with the hug, holding each other strong and tight. But between the warmth of the hug, the warmth of the sun bearing down onto your skin, and the gentle rocking made you realise… you were exhausted.
You could almost feel the energy from your system be drained the longer you held onto each other. The adrenaline and energy you’d been surviving on the past couple of days finally started to drain out of your system, and you couldn’t stop your eyes from closing.
“I would never forgive myself,” he mumbled against your hair, “if you walked out of here this exhausted and ended up hurt, or worse… killed. Please, come back to my place for some rest. We both know you need it.”
He was right and you knew it. You knew it was dangerous for you to be adventuring when you’re borderline running on fumes, but you couldn’t stop. You were close to completing that damn Pokedex entry, and you didn’t want to stop until it was completed. Leave it to Adaman to force you to come back to yourself.
“Okay,” you responded, the last syllable breaking off into a yawn as your brain seemed to be shutting down in record time. You couldn’t remember the last time you felt this tired.
“Thank you,” he said as he finally broke away from the hug, causing your eyes to open once more. The sun felt too bright, and your eyelids seemed to be attached to Gravelers all of a sudden. He wrapped an arm around your shoulders and lead you back to his place with only mild stumbling on your part. Adaman was there to catch you every time.
As if the last few days hadn’t started to blur together, time seemed to be on double time now. Your coat and satchel were off before you could process that Adaman was helping you take them off. You couldn’t remember taking off your shoes, but they were by the door right where you always put them at your own place. You sat down on a little cushion at the table, blinking off into space.
Your name called you back to the present with Adaman handing you a glass of water. You drank the entire thing in one go, making him give you a look that you were too tired to process. One problem at a time.
Adaman gestured to his bed. “You can sleep in my bed.” You noticed the pink dusting his cheeks, but don’t comment. You probably would be too, if you had the presence of mind to truly think about the implications of the statement. Instead, you take him up on the offer and lay down right away. He sat next to you on the bed, and you place your hand on his knee.
“Stay with me?”
He smiled with the warmth of a thousand suns. “I’ll be here the entire time.”
The feeling of him playing with your hair lingered on your scalp as you finally drifted off into a much-needed slumber.

Waking Early
adaman x reader
( it's been exactly one day and i'm back again. my niche is usually to write as much angst as i possibly can, but this time i tried to do as much fluff as i could. i had to take a couple breaks and write a whole semi-angst angst thing in between, but i made it through and i really like it! i'm just easily embarrassed by soft things i guess. anyway have a lovesick adaman and reader. )
reader is gender-neutral. they/them pronouns will be used if any pronouns at all.
—
When your eyes slammed open, all images of the terrors in your mind faded away.
You hated having nightmares. They weren’t overly often, but it seemed to happen more often than the others around you. Maybe it was the stress you were put under or the fact you constantly faced fierce Pokemon that wanted you dead. Most times you could remember at least parts of your nightmare, but this time, everything faded away as soon as you opened your eyes.
At least this time it wasn’t a frightful awakening — you didn’t wake up gasping or shooting straight up in bed. This time you just opened your eyes, if not a little quicker and more forceful than most other days.
A soft noise to your right caught your attention, and you turned your head. There was Adaman, laying on his side, all his hair pulled back into a ponytail rather than just the top. His eyes were gently closed and his mouth slightly open, one arm underneath the pillow while the other rest on your shoulder. He was snoring ever so softly, almost more deep breathing with a soft hitch once in a while than actual snoring. He seemed so peaceful, and you couldn’t help but stare.
How could you manage to be so lucky?
It wasn’t all gold and roses when you first started out. It was a lot of awkwardness, clumsy kisses and stupid giggles as either of you tried to flirt without getting flustered or embarrassed. You both tripped over yourselves as well as each other quite often toward the beginning, but once you found your groove, it’s been fun since. You couldn’t imagine being happier with anyone else.
Looking out the side of the house, it seemed that the sun would start coming up soon. The sky had that simple glow to it, the glow it got just before it would be kissed by the sun’s light. The same simple glow that Adaman got whenever you took his hand when walking with him, or whenever you kissed him. It seemed his love language was touch, and you were more than happy to give it to him.
You rolled onto your side slowly to not disturb him and reached to untie his hair. Slowly, gently, it all came free from its tied prison, flowing freely around his back in a multicoloured mess. You brushed some out of his face as it fell, being sure to tuck it behind his ear before leaning forward and pressing light kisses to his forehead.
Maybe the nightmare did you a favour after all.
You finally got to see your significant other twitch his nose and inhale upon waking up. With all the energy and constant need to go everywhere, especially since he always woke up much before you, you always assumed he woke up wide awake and just got out of bed. Clearly, you were mistaken. He blinked a few times, bleary-eyed and confused. A noise came from his throat that you can only assume would be the sound a question mark would make, and you kissed down his nose. “Good morning, sunshine,” you spoke faintly, not wanting to confuse the poor man any more than he already was, before pressing a kiss to his lips.
He easily kissed back, if a bit late (something you never thought you’d say about him) as his brain tried to catch up to his consciousness. “Mornin’,” he slurred as he closed his eyes once again. And you began the countdown.
Three… two… one…
His eyes popped open.
“Wait… what are you doing awake?”
You laughed and kept peppering kisses around his face. “A nightmare woke me up,” you spoke in between kisses, “and I didn’t feel like going back to sleep. So I woke you up instead.” You finished the kisses with another peck to his lips, pressing your forehead to his. “I’ve never seen you wake up before.”
His eyes shine brightly, and you can see he wakes up far quicker than you normally do. So you weren’t entirely wrong that he does get out of bed fairly quickly, but not immediately. It does take some time for his brain to catch up. You love him with all of your heart and soul, but you definitely knew it took time for his brain to catch up regardless of the situation. Mornings were no different.
He rolled onto his back and pulled you toward his chest, your legs twisting together to get as close to each other as possible. Adaman’s smile could light up a room entirely on its own, you think, because you’ve never seen anything that could lift your spirits and brighten your day as much as his loving smile could. He looked at you like you’re his entire life — and you can only imagine you look at him the same way.
“Well, now you have,” he murmured against your lips before kissing you properly. “Are you alright though? You seem to be in good spirits for having had a nightmare.”
You shrugged. “I can’t remember anything about it. I know I felt scared, but I don’t remember anything else. And honestly, I’m okay with that.” You threaded your fingers through his hair carefully, making sure not to accidentally pull on a knot. “Plus, I got to wake up with you. I’m happier than ever.”
Adaman looked out through the window and saw that the sun was just now starting to glow in the sky, and he turned back to you. “We’ve got some time to lay here a while, right?”
A laugh couldn’t help but escape your throat at the question. “I’m not sure, Mister Time’s-a Wastin’. What do you think?”
He nuzzled into your neck. At first, neither of you say anything. You continued to card your fingers through his hair and play with some of the stray strands as he pressed kisses to your neck and shoulder. It was rare you guys got this type of time together, with how busy you two were, so these types of quiet moments didn’t happen as often as either of you would like. This might convince you to go to sleep a little earlier to start waking up alongside him.
Finally, after a few minutes, a hum escaped his throat. “No time with you is time wasted. So let’s lay here a bit longer. Until the sun comes up fully.”
You agreed wholeheartedly. “I love you.”
He smiled brightly, pressing his forehead to yours. “I love you, too.”

To the Rescue
adaman x reader
( hello! this is the first time i'm posting an 'x reader' kind of fic in actual years, but i've been in the habit of writing them ever since because it helps me undo a lot of writer's block when it comes to my writing i'm attempting to do. but in the meantime, i've been absolutely feral about adaman, so i decided to take a crack at writing once more. hopefully some people will like it! if you do, be sure to let me know and i will write more! also i do accept prompts selectively if you wish to send any! )
reader is gender-neutral. they/them pronouns will be used if any pronouns at all.

You know, in hindsight, this was easily one of your dumber moves in life. Granted you weren’t that old, but adult enough where you should have known the risks.
Besides, this was more of a lapse of common sense and safety measures.
Jumping off of Braviary’s little triangle thing was something you’d borderline mastered at this point. A few feet off the ground, you let go and let Braviary fly off rather than having to land and readjust. It was a timesaver, and it was something you learned early on. After all, sometimes those few seconds was the difference between catching a Pokemon and having it run away.
Honestly, it’s not like you were that far off the ground. Maybe a little further than you should have been, but definitely too far for conditions. You hadn’t been thinking about the rains from the night before, just focused on catching the Pokemon that had gathered in the area. It wasn’t one you got to see too often, so you were excited that there was a horde of them for you to catch.
But of course, nothing could go as planned. You had it easy for far too long, fate decided.
As soon as you hit the ground, your ankle slid on mud and rolled awkwardly, causing you to slip and fall. You tried to grab onto anything around you, but you tumbled down the large hill helplessly with a shout.
Pebbles and rocks from the mud scraped against your hands and arms as you desperately tried to stop yourself to no avail from sliding down. Once you finally skidded to a stop, you took some time to look over your clothes. You were covered in dirt and mud of various levels of dry, your hands and arms scraped up with little bubbles of blood coming from a couple of them. Your clothes were for sure in need of a soak in the river after this, hoping to get most of this out.
However, your ankle quickly wiped away all other thoughts.
It gave an angry throb, and you realised it was twisted hard in a direction it normally shouldn’t be pointing in. Your hands went to cover it, but touching it made it worse. Flexing your hands next to your ankle, gritting your teeth as you tried to think of how to get out of this situation. Today you didn’t plan on battling much, so you only brought a couple Pokemon. Only one of them was bonded to you — your Umbreon.
Finding the grime-covered Pokeball on your pouch, you released your companion and smiled when it chirped coming out of the ball. She was so cute.
“Umbreon, I need your help,” you speak softly but strained, trying to stay calm as to not freak out your friend. A worried chirping noise came as she came closer, nuzzling your arm with her nose. “Yeah, I’m in a bit of trouble. I need you to go to the Diamond settlement nearby and grab someone there. It’s a little over that way.” You pointed in the general direction of the settlement. “Do you think you can do it?”
With a confident bark, your Dark-type girl was on her way.
—
It was a pretty peaceful day in the Diamond settlement. Everyone had been busy doing house chores and in general staying in the vicinity of the settlement, including Adaman. Normally he couldn’t sit still for the day, constantly needing to be moving and checking up on everything around the area, but they knew the land was too muddy to walk. The previous day’s downpour made everything just a tad too dangerous to stray too far from their little village. Even the ground there was on the soft side, forcing everyone to take care in how they walked, lest they end up slipping and covering themselves in mud.
Still, despite having to stay near the settlement for the day, Adaman wasted no time. Instead of leaving to check things like normal, he spent the time training with his Leafeon. It was a two-for-one, in his opinion. Not only was his Pokemon pal getting stronger with learning and mastering its moves, but it was also making their bond stronger as after their training session, Leafeon always got little treats. Sure, Pokemon could be dangerous and scary, but with proper training and a little help from a certain someone who fell from the sky, they could be very good friends.
He was thankful the Survey Corps was helping everyone understand Pokemon more than before. The fear of the unknown was strong, and if everyone got to know Pokemon, maybe they wouldn’t be so feared. Feared a little, maybe, considering some seemed to be much stronger and angrier than others, but at least have a general understanding to forward the thinking of living with the creatures rather than separately.
Adaman was pulled back to reality when he heard murmurs around him. He shook his head a bit to clear his thoughts, heading toward the front of the settlement to see what was going on.
There stood an Umbreon, held back from entering by the guards.
Immediately the hairs on the back of his neck stood up as he knew something was wrong. Umbreon wasn’t really a wild Pokemon to just show up, so clearly, this had to be someone’s very own. There weren’t a whole lot of people he knew that even had Umbreons, except one for certain. One Survey Corps member that he knew would be wandering about today in the Crimson Mirelands, despite warnings not to.
“What’s going on?”
“I don’t know,” the woman responded, her arms crossed. “This little guy has been trying to come in, but we don’t want any trouble. We can’t be for certain why it’s here.”
Adaman slowly approached the Pokemon, getting on one knee to talk to it eye-to-eye like he did with Leafeon. “Hey, buddy. What are you doing here?”
The Umbreon chirped at him, gently taking his haori gently into its mouth to tug. It wasn’t a hard tug like it was attempting to rip clothes, but enough to show that it definitely wanted the leader to follow it. His eyebrows furrowed as he got up, turning to the woman once more.
“I’m going to follow this Umbreon. I think someone might be in trouble.”
“Just be careful, Adaman.”
“I’ll take my time.”
—
Being alone with your thoughts with nothing around you and no way to entertain yourself, time seemed to go by so slowly. You didn’t know exactly how long it had been, but you knew it had been at least an hour considering the sun had changed positions, but you still weren’t the greatest at gauging time just simply by the sun. Either way, being uncomfortable didn’t help the passage of time go any faster — between the pain and the feeling of being covered in gunk and grime, time seemed to be moving slower than ever.
The sound of footsteps coming closer caught your ears, causing you to hold your breath and listen closely. Was that someone coming to rescue you, or a Pokemon about to find and eat you alive? You weren’t sure — until your Umbreon rounded the corner of the hill.
“Umbreon!”
She let out a trilling sort of noise before running up to you and bumping her head against yours as a greeting. The sound of your name followed, and you looked up to see Adaman staring down at you. A sort of amused disappointment was written all over his face, one hand on his hip and one in his pocket as he shook his head. “I should have known you’d get yourself into trouble.”
Your face grew warm as you grinned sheepishly, calling Umbreon back into her ball. “Yeah, well, I’ve never been one for thinking ahead much.”
He laughed a bit before starting to offer you a hand, before finally looking down at your legs. Seeing your ankle bent awkwardly in a direction it should not be pointing made the smile drop instantly, and before you knew it he was kneeling down to look. “Almighty Sinnoh, what did you do?”
You swallowed hard, looking in the other direction. “I… landed a little hard when letting go of Braviary. When I hit the ground, my ankle twisted and I slid and fell down the hill.”
“Twisted? More like broken. Do you think you can stand on your other foot to get on my back?” Adaman stood up and held out his hand, worry clearly written all over his face.
“With help, yeah,” you respond, taking his hand and hauling yourself up precariously on one leg. Your other leg was bent at the knee to avoid having your foot touch anything more than it needed to. Your balance wobbled a bit with trying to find the correct way to stand on one foot, but Adaman quickly came to the rescue by holding your arm and allowing you to lean on him for support. You sighed, embarrassed by the situation. “I’m sorry for wasting your time like this, Adaman.”
He looked at you, a soft smile on his face. “You’re not wasting my time. You never could.” His cheeks dusted pink for a bit, and he cleared his throat. “I’d rather this than spend time worrying over where you are because no one has heard from you in a while.”
You smiled back, locking eyes with him for a little bit too long before you both look away with matching blushes. “We, uh… we should start heading back before it gets dark.”
With a bit of a strained effort on your part, you finally managed to hop onto Adaman’s back. He held your legs by his waist as your arms wrapped around his neck and dangled down by his chest, your face resting on his shoulder. “It’ll be a bumpy ride, but we’ll get to the settlement soon,” Adaman spoke as he walked, trying to be quick but not slide or drop you. “You can spend the night at my place. Uh, if you want,” he added quickly.
“Nothing would make me happier after this shitty day, Adaman,” you spoke softly, smiling the entire time.
No one mentioned the matching blushes you two shared as you entered back into the settlement.

Hello! How are you? If it’s not too much trouble, can you please write some prompts for enemies who are staring to turn into friends? Idk if that makes sense I’m sorry 😭, like prompts which show the time the two of them put aside their hatred towards each other and start to realise that they actually have some stuff in common? Thank you very much! I love your blog ☺️💓
Ooh not many people pay attention to that teensy little turning point, I hope you like these!

“Oi, here. Take my umbrella.”
“I thought you hated me.”
“I despise of you, but uh...I’d rather you don’t die in the cold.”
- - -
“Is...Is that (fandom name) merch?”
“Yeah, I guess. I got this sticker handmade. You read?”
“Obsessively. Holy shit, have you read the new chapter?”
“Oh my god, yes! That cliffhanger, I swear.”
- - -
“Fiiiine, I’ll admit that was pretty cool.”
“Did...you just compliment me? Woah, and I didn’t throw up!”
“What are we now, friends?”
“Not quite.”
- - -
“Look, I’m only hanging out with you because you know good restaurants here.”
“Suuuure, definitely not because you enjoy my company.”
“I 100% despise your company.”
- - -
“You know what? I always thought you were a prick. Turns out you’re just a twit.”
“There’s...a difference?”
