Zombie Caregiver Headcanons - 🧠💔

(tw: zombies!! General grossness you'd expect from undead creatures, mentions of death and blood)

🧠 - Maybe you resemble a loved one of theirs. Maybe they were just a doting person when alive.. in any case, when they catch sight of you alone and terrified, their hunger ceases for a moment

💔 - even if you pull a weapon on them, they're determined to comfort you. Reaching out an ever trembling hand to gently caress your face even as you flinch away... cooing at you with what's left of their ruined throat 'little one..' all croaky

🧠 - congrats, you now have a guard dog! Snarling and snapping at any other zombies that cross your path. Dropping a deer carcass in front of you and being confused when you don't start to eat.. eventually figuring out they need to scavenge for cans and other nonperishbles! Being so proud of themselves for taking care of you like a good caregiver should..

💔 - you'll have to get used to smelling like death and rot. They just can't help but cuddle you! You'd think something undead wouldn't be so strong, but they easily cage you in their arms. Even if you fight, they'll just hold you until you tire out! Or maybe even feign that they're going to bite you if you don't behave. They'd never! But it won't hurt you to think they might..

🧠 - begrudgingly trying to fix up the zombie... attempting to anyway. Sewing up any wounds and half hazardly bandaging them, being smothered and cooed at right after. Ohh, such a good baby trying to take care of them! It's their job to take care of you, silly.. (Them finding cute little kids bandages for you, presenting it like a treasure...)

💔 - pray you don't find any other survivors, it'll only end in bloodshed and heartbreak. What, you're going to leave them? Abandon your poor caretaker? No...

Maybe if you ask really nicely, they'll be spared. A please and thank you like a good kid should as you sob pathetically...

Perhaps eating one of your new friends in front of you anyway to really drill it into your dumb little head that you don't need anyone but them..
