Exhibition Print

 Prepare image: You are going to print out a 50x70 Lustre print from a lab on Madrid, Calle José Barbastre 10 called Dinasa. You will submit your file digitally and pick it up in person before class on APR 24. Preferably the day before so that you don´t end up with no prints.

You may print more than one print, but only one is required……

Your image must be:

·        Image mode RGB.

·        Bit Depth 8 bits

·        Flattened image – no layers

·        Resolución máxima 300 p.p.i. for the 50x70 200 ppi will do.

·        JPEG or TIFF, 

·        Profile - ��sRGB o Adobe RGB,

Before choosing which file(s) to print, I would like you to submit to me, via wetransfer, Five images that you are considering so that I can give you my opinion. You may send these to me at any time before the due date.

 Artists Statement

The final part of your APR 24 due date is your written statement. This statement you will turn in to me along with your print.

It is helpful when writing a statement to address the audience specifically in terms of what they are looking at and contextualize your entire body of work. To get started ask yourself the following questions:

What is your inspiration?

how did you plan?

what was your method?

why did you do it?

Artist Statement example

Katy Grannan - Grannan photographs her subjects in front of the type of white stucco walls that can be found anywhere. She works midday when the strong noon light, in tandem with the white walls, transforms her city streets into outdoor studios. The light is precise and indiscriminate, delineating in high-pitched detail Grannan’s hustlers, strutters, addicts and beauty queens. The timeless characters who populate Grannan’s Boulevards are a compendium of street types rendered with mesmerizing intensity, separated from their counterparts of past centuries by little more than costume or hairstyle.
