I mean this used to be true but they did just spend seven issues living at the Restoration, and they had pretty decent accomodations there. That is very much the arc that just ended.

And while that arc is over now, and they moved somewhere else, in the 2024 annual they seem to have again found a somewhat decent place to live. They still have a bunk bed, they have clean sheets, and they even have what looks to be a stereo. And apparently they can afford takeout burgers.
