Hello, Una!! I'm sure you get a lot of asks in your inbox like this one but I really want you to know how much The Never Ending Sacrifice affected me. It's one of my all time favourite books and just thinking about any scene or character makes me want to cry. I think about that book every day of my life and I was so amazed by how easily you made me care about every single character, and how easily you made me loathe Dukat after years of enjoying and even liking his character. I can't stand the sight of the man anymore. I would give anything to read TNES for the first time again. Thank you so much for the hard work and obvious love put into every book. Your contributions to the Star Trek universe are every bit as real and meaningful to me as any of the tv shows. Thank you so much for sharing your beautiful work with us and for expanding so wonderfully on Cardassian culture- and Garak in particular. No one writes him in the novels like you do, and yours is my favourite!!!

And, well, wow - thank you for this wonderful message. This is so incredibly kind of you. I loved writing The Never Ending Sacrifice so much. I poured my whole heart into the book - not just Rugal's story, but of all the characters. They all meant a great deal to me - Kotan, Tret, Pen. I got very involved with them all, and their various fates. It took me ages to recover from watching "What You Leave Behind" for the first time, and writing this book was a huge part of it.

I sometimes wonder whether I was too harsh on Dukat, and then I think about everything he does, and - nah.

Thank you too for your kind words about writing Garak. He's been very quiet lately, but I'm sure it's only a matter of time.
