My brother: *to his online friends* I gotta go. My pizza is here.
One of his online friends: Where’s my pizza?
Everyone: *laughs*
My brother: *logs out of chat*
Me: You know. You could order them pizza.
My brother: What?
Me: You know his adress.
My brother: We live in Canada. They are in the States.
Me: So. You can order it online and pay with a credit card.
-20 minutes later-
Online friend: HOW THE FUCK DID YOU GET ME A PIZZA FROM CANADA?

Okay but this is how bad 2017 was that I’m in my basement just now and a dandelion seed floats by and I’m like that’s weird, why is a dandelion seed floating right toward me in my basement where there’s no wind and in the middle of winter? And I let it fall onto my hand and stared at it for a moment before saying to it, “I’m a scientist and a very practical, down to earth person… but if you’re some kind of fairy, can you help me out, bro, and give me a better 2018?” Then I gently sent him on his way and wished him good luck. Keep your fingers crossed, people. XD

So, the other day was World Theater day. I talked about it on my Instagram, but not here, so here we go. My musical theater journey.
4th grade
Shrek the Musical
This was still probably my favorite musical that I've been in
I was a Duloc dancer, and I was the youngest person in the front row
I was a mouse because I was so young and all the little kids had to do that
I carried the moon wearing all black during Travel Song
5th grade
Happy Days
May be my least favorite
Fun and funny
Got to dress like I was from the 60s. I had bangs at the time too so I curled those really big
Chorus member (nicknamed weaver by my family because I didn't know how to act on stage and just walked all over the stage sneaking through throngs of people during numbers)
6th grade
The Aadams Family
The year my sister could join
Not in many scenes
Chorus member
Ghost/ancestor
7th grade
The Little Mermaid
Amazing and colorful
Made my costume with my best friend and sister
I was familiar with the music and content for the first time
I got to wear two costumes because in Kiss tHe Girl I was a frog. I got to make a 'shell' with a big piece of Styrofoam and tissue paper
8th grade
Once Upon A Matress
My second favorite show
It was a smaller cast this year
I got to wear the dress my great grandmother made a long time ago
Chorus member and a lady in waiting
I was added into an extra scene
The most scenes of been in in a single show
The choreography was amazing for the first time. At our community musical, usually the choreography is so simplified by the end its a mess. This year we practiced so much, that even though it was difficult, it turned out amazing
This was the first year I talked to people I normally wouldn't. I talked to kids younger than me, some of which ended up being super cool. I talked to kids in my grade of never spoken to before and I became good friends with some of them. I talked to high schoolers. Seriously, I was so confident that I heard some high school girls singing Heathers and I went over and was like, "hey, I heard you singing Heathers and I had to come over." and they were like, " yeah! Sing veronica part." I fangirled over emo music with my new friend Caroline. I talked about musicals with other kids. It was amazing
Musicals in my life
I have listened to a ton of broadway musicals
I now spend nights scouring the web for bootlegs
I have a broadway fan account
I draw a lot of fan art for musicals (x9 George Salazar liked Be More Chill drawings)
I spend free time listening to musicals, watching them in Netflix, and trying to find my next obsession
Every time I like one I make my sister listen to it
I buy soundtracks
I laugh
I cry
I smile
I sing

If you've been on Instagram tonight (mostly Panic! accounts of say), or on Sarah Uries post recent picture, you'll see she is being harassed. People will not stop saying she his pregnant. Also, starting tonight, people have begun to comment 'cocklet.' Even saying that's the name of her alleged child THAT SHE HAS SAID SHE IS NOT HAVING WHEN SHE PUT THE PREGNANCY RUMORS TO REST. I even got a comment on a Pray For The Wicked edit I did saying Cocklet. Seriously, don't do this. And if you see it, report the person please.

Two kids at the musical tonight sang Our Love is God from Heathers backstage, and being completely honest, I would pay for a copy, it was better than the real one, and I almost started crying.

Me as a kid: I don’t understand why teenagers curse at their friends and call them mean names. I’ll never do that to my friends.
Me now: Come on bitch, get in the damn car let’s go get some motherfucking ice cream.

things i did that forced me to be a better artist:
used a reference for everything
thinner line art (you think thats thin? go thinner….)
sketch, then do a cleaner sketch, THEN start finalizing
THUMBNAILS
color research, picking a set palette or light/dark for each work
you like that pose? redo it one more time
USE A DAMN REFERENCE
do not rely on stylization as an excuse for anatomy
draw the goddamn background you coward
just draw the hand- a bad hand is better than a hidden hand
the rule of thirds WORKS
take a considerable break between sketch and lines/paint
know that art takes longer as you get better at it
draw the seams on clothes
stop aiming for accuracy and focus on fluidity and motion, accuracy will come with practice of those two concepts
just…do the chiaroscuro. just DO IT. no excuses it always works
stop making excuses, make yourself an art schedule/set weekly(or daily) art goals and just DO IT.
