Read This If You've Been Telling Yourself That You're Not Good Enough
Read This If You’ve Been Telling Yourself That You’re Not Good Enough
You may have been feeling down, or sulky, or lonely, or everything bad at once. You may have been making mistakes for a few times in a row now. Or you may have been hanging on a cliff lately, there on the edge, on the brink of giving up. So I am here to remind you something, to tell you that you are not perfect. Neither am I, nor is everyone else. You are your own kind of beautiful. If you feel,…

Cathartic Saturdays: Mandalas
Tumblr media
Drawing mandalas is not easy. It requires a whole lot of patience, and, a lot of energy. Plus, they are a little tiresome, considering all the force your arms and fingers have to put into it’s intricate details. But, the result is something else. To see all the time and effort you have put on drawing the lines and curves and patterns is always overwhelming. It is something you will be really…

Tuesday Tunes: The Music That Saved Me
Tuesday Tunes: The Music That Saved Me
Music has a way of touching us in so many ways we can ever imagine. Sometimes it consoles us, giving us the comfort that we need. Sometimes it consumes us and keeps our mood down. Sometimes it just makes us feel nostalgic. But what greater music is it than the kind that saves someone?I think that is what makes music wonderful. It has this certain kind of power to affect our lives and somehow make…

A Letter From My 99-Year-Old Self
To my 20-year-old self,
I’m going to start with something that I know you’ve been waiting to hear right now: You are good enough as you are.
I know you. And I know your thoughts. I know that you’re overthinking about all your disappointments right now. I know your fears and how they are consuming you easily tonight. You’ve been through a lot. But you will be going through a whole lot more. I…

POETRY │ I Still Ask Myself
POETRY │ I Still Ask Myself
I still ask myself how You have done it that easily, Leaving me a mess And acting like nothing has happened. I still look for the reasons Behind every word you said. How everything has changed Within just a glimpse of an eye. I still think about the way It felt so easy for you To just leave me behind, After all the moments we shared, After every dream we made together. I still ask myself what is…

What "Student of Life" Means To Me │ My Entry For #ABCMagPromo
What “Student of Life” Means To Me │ My Entry For #ABCMagPromo
Abbey Sy is going to launch her ABC Mag this Saturday, June 17, and we (me and my best friend, Danica) really want to be a part of it. We’ve been looking forward to meeting Ms. Abbey since we really think she’s amazing. (We really love her and her creativity.)
She will be giving a talk during the launch and they will be choosing 30 participants. But, to be one of the 30, we must first post a…

For me, being a Student of Life is a thousand steps further than just being a typical student that has to attend his classes and do his homework. Being its student does not only revolve around learning how to read, or how to solve complex mathematical problems, or how to write a 500-word essay. It's not just about learning from books, or from the stories we hear or see. For me, it is about learning on your own, experiencing life itself and finding the beauty behind it. I gotta say, life is often harsh. Sometimes it laughs in our faces when we trip and stumble. It even kicks us when we're down. Sometimes I even think that life is a huge joke. But, maybe that's just how it is supposed to be. Maybe we are just too hard-headed that we need to get hurt and be miserable before we even realize what living is really about. Maybe our eyes are shut too tight that it needs force just to open. One of my mentors once said that we should not let the day end without learning something new. I held on to that. And, guess what? It's pretty overwhelming to end a day with a prayer thanking the Lord for every single thing that I learn from that day onwards. I guess being a Student of Life is about being fearless and not being held back by our uncertainties. It is about finding the good in every person you meet. It is about radiating happiness. It is about learning continually—that after you learn something new, you'll find out that a whole lot more is waiting for you to learn. And we should never stop... because life does not retire as a teacher, and we can never drop out of its class. #ABCMagPromo #ABCGiveaways
