What is life. What is the meaning that we attribute to it? Life and death. Happiness and sorrow. Joy and pain. As I see both, I wonder at end of it all. We are young. We grow old. And one day we pass from the living to the dead. What can be said. What can be done. Who are we. Who will we become?

Still waiting

Will you love me who I am? Can you love me for who I am? The older I get the harder it gets. It's never easy making yourself vulnerable.

Good friends are not easy to come by. But sometimes you get lucky.

I just see no reason to agree with the worldly romantic notion that every person has just one "soul mate" out there waiting for him or her. In fact, I find that idea to be anticovenantal, contrary to grace. It forces prospective spouses into a routine of measuring up, of being investigated or even interrogated rather than considered. It turns the search for a godly spouse into an audition to be the one who "completes" you. Do you see the subtle pride at work there, the arrogance? Instead of appropriately considering the character of a potential spouse, the romantic relationship becomes about scrutinizing every potential spouse to see if he or she is "the one" for you, as if you are the be-all and end-all. No spouse can complete you. Don't look for a spouse to do what only Jesus can.

Discount

Am I discounting God for what He is worth Do I give Him the amount of praise and glory He is due? If our lives don't match our beliefs, if our lives don't honor God for His matchless power and majesty, then yes, we are discounting God for who He is. We are desiring things of lesser value and are putting those at greater worth than Him. We are discounting His worth and might. Let us reevaluate what we find what is important to us. Let us reevaluate what is the treasure of our hearts.
