And why should I do that for the head of a family that oversaw the British Empire’s legendarily brutal concentration camps in colonialist Kenya during the 1952-1960 Mau Mau rebellion, has personally and repeatedly shielded credibly accused rapist Prince Andrew and tried to get the scandal to go away, personally paid Andrew’s financial settlement while the family treated Meghan Markle terribly and gave her none of the same protection, exerted a huge amount of control over UK public finances without any transparency or disclosure (while also receiving huge amounts of that money), got to personally edit laws according to her likes and dislikes, enjoyed sweeping legal immunities that are described as a “threat to UK democracy,” is the most visible figurehead of British colonialism even as her descendants put on a horribly tone-deaf Caribbean tour (twice in one year!) that was basically about unreconstructed imperial imagery of the kind that is poisoning Britain, while the entire country buys into the fantasy that she is an impartial, uninvolved, kindly and benevolent grandmotherly figure….?

its important to note with the queens death, a lot of shit things have been reversed after complaints.

center parcs are letting guests stay after people complained. at least on of the food banks has backtracked on saying it will close. there's national pushback against the protest arrests and the met police have released a statement saying protest is allowed and officers will be told this.

so don't stop pushing back against this shit. don't stop telling them that this is bullshit and we won't let it stand.

and also remember that community and mutual aid are one of the most important ways to support each other in times of crisis as we sink deeper into the tory cost of living hellscape.

not to get political but im begging you guys to stop coming to hawaii. in maui theyre asking to put a 'pause' on flights bc we literally do not have enough room or staff to service you. the roads are so full that its causing a major backup when ppl need to get to work.

on top of this, i heard that by September? theyre expecting to get rid of the mask rule (if 70% of ppl are vaccinated/all goes well) but ill be honest w/ you, i know many locals arent getting the vaccine and i know plenty of tourist arent gonna take the necessary precautions.

URGENT!!!!!! my disabled black and queer family desparately needs to go buy some groceries one more time while we wait for a final food stamp decision!

my name is sugar and im a trans woman living w my gf after our white roommate ditched the house and all their stuff in the middle of the night leaving us homeless and having to move in w her my gfs family (some of you may have seen my old posts floating around and im sorry to be on yalls dash so much) but its been another two weeks of us eating bread and syrup sandwiches and a few of the elderly here have diabetes etc

no one in the household has government assistance. i did have pua but they took it away quick and its hard to find a job bc the whole house isnt vaccinated and we live w sickly/elderly unvaccinated folks which means i along w my gf have to be their caretakers 24/7. We give 5 other ppl their medicine and food, change diapers, keep them safe, bath them etc so we're busy alot of the time (which we absolutely dont mind bc we love them💕)

we are applying for food stamps and are waiting for the final decision but we cant wait for them to eat we literally have nothing and are starving. hopefully this will be the last time we have to beg like this for help on the internet💕💕💕

we desparately need $650 dollars so we can buy food to last us hopefully 2 months w a house of 7 and that also includes uber money bc none of us can drive and we live far from the grocery stores around us we dont live in the city.
