Absolutely love seeing a site with a contact details section containing IRC, Second Life, AIM, WoW, and XMPP. Relic of a forgotten age. Every site should do this.

Hard same. I’ve always preferred written communication, particularly for anything with actual complexity, though I’m not quite at your level of consistent elucidation. Being able to go back over what was written and examining the nuances, as well as considering the consequences and best approach to a reply is invaluable, and generally impossible in the expected few seconds before a reply in verbal conversation.
When engaged in conversation, I usually have to reply with whatever thread of thought is most prominent, losing the context for others I think of while listening to the other party.
It’s also why I dislike podcasts as a medium, there’s no time for analysis, to generate ideas and connections; if you’re focused enough to do that while listening, you’d be better off reading a transcript. Granted, this is reflected in the general choice of content as being less involved.
The techno-optimist part of me wants to experiment with optimizing for this, something like a more directly collaborative wiki or memex: being able to annotate ideas had while reading, replying to selections out of content to make it clear it’s a distinct thought, inlining references to posts and replies to compose things together. Unfortunately, I also predict that the features wouldn’t be worth the complexity they add, compared to the simple mechanics of back-and-forth replies.
Hopefully, I get more comfortable leaving ideas incomplete and verbal conversation in general, something I’m working on with voice chat and pursuing more involved conversations.
I think one of the reasons why I started to like live verbal conversations is that at a certain point, as
I got better at live conversation,
the scope of what I could think of to say grew, and
I started to feel more secure when leaving ideas incomplete and disagreements unresolved
the constraints of live speech became relieving rather than frustrating, so long as it was with a mind I already had a decent positive dynamic with.
Though when it comes to certain kinds of disagreements, I prefer to go back to written communication with time delays.

But what about... a system for mapping arbitrary file schemes to plaintext and JSON?
oh, speaking of hosting your own site, I’ve been toying around for a while now with the idea of hosting some recipes that I particularly like somewhere, in plaintext, with no elaborate narrative or story, just ingredients, instructions, and maybe some comments on what’s important/variable, what’s tricky about it, etc
would people be interested in seeing this sort of thing?

The future technology aesthetic of large glass touchscreens is cool, but I really want to see more designs based on technological needs different from ours. For example, a far-future society living within a very slim margin of sustainability, so everything is build modular and large, replacing screens with room-wide projectors, optimizing for energy efficiency and the ability to quickly replace and recycle components at the expense of usability and size.

Working on a personal wiki design for myself, it just fits better with how I want to note down and explain ideas than a blog format; specifically, separating things out by concept and definition and the heavy use of annotations, links, and categories to provide context and additional information.

I really love these sci-fi concepts built with an eye towards incentives and systems, it gives them a sense of realism and depth I rarely get from sci-fi (including works with much larger bodies of text), while still being entirely alien. The unexpected little details and storylets (pirate soap opera!) make it a joy to read as well.
Rocket Sauce
“Rocket sauce” is a broad term for any beverage made from ingredients that are individually toxic (or even fatal), but chemically balance out to a relatively-safe form. Frequently, the margin of error is a few milliliters or less. Recipes vary wildly based on available ingredients and the drinker’s biology, but are often drawn from heavy industry and spaceport stocks.
