Dess waves at the janitor, a little smile present on his face. "How are you? Life's been treatin' ya good?" He asks.

Dess gets a bit caught off guard by the sudden behaviour, and he lets out a fake cough.

"Are you..." The navigator's voice sounds genuinely concerned. "..Okay? You're uh, acting a bit, weird."

aw come on. another red text user? this is- sigh. okay. I guess. how are you? I've noticed your teeth- they're very interesting.

"Oh im uh, fine! As fine as someone can be on this ship." Dess responds to that first question with his usual cheerful voice. He arches a brow when the guy mentions his teeth, though.

"My teeth-?" Dess brings his hand up to his teeth, poking it. Oh right, those teeth of his are sharp. "Oh yeah, they're kinda sharp, I guess."

Dess chuckles nervously, averting his gaze from the head medic. He has always disliked the psych evals from the start, but the reason why is always unclear, even to the navigator himself.

".... I simply forgot to answer?"

That's a half assed excuse and Dess knows it. He just didn't like answering.

Dess lets out a snort, and then a little snicker as he hears the bizzarely distorted audio that's currently playing through the intercom. "How did that fish even got in here, anyway.." He mumbles to himself.

The navigator even found himself humming along to the STUPID FUCKING tune.

...This whole thing is making him wonder how he has never seen Kei before.

You can hear a voice over the intercom. The manner of speech the person on the other side had was rather straightforward.

"Heeeeyyyyy! You seem interesting. Who are you."

Oh what the heck. That voice sounds... unfamiliar.

"Oh, m'Desmond, Navigator of the Tulpar-" He talks a bit fast, causing some of the words to get a bit mixed up. "Who is this?"

Dess lets out a little sheepish chuckle, suddenly feeling a bit self conscious about his teeth. Was it really THAT sharp? Maybe he's too used to seeing it that he doesn't really see it as sharp anymore..

"Well, i did bit my tongue once.. accidentally." He said that last part in a quieter tone, rubbing his arm. "It tastes like- hm, uhh," He tries to describe the taste with hand motions, but he gives up after about 2 seconds. "It's hard to describe the taste, but.. bloody? Kinda sweet?"

Dess glances to the side for a bit, and then he looks at Connor again. "Anyways, how's Anya been treating you? Since you're the medical intern and all." A tinge of curiosity laced his tone, and he tilts his head to the side.

Connor shrugs, offering a smile.

"I've been doing alright, sleeping as best as someone can on this ship-"

He tilts his head and raises an eyebrow, seeming glad to be able to have an actual conversation right now.

"how about you? been okay?"

"Yeah, i've been doing just fine n' dandy!" Dess clasps his hands together, and he opens his mouth to say another set of words, but a yawn quickly came out of it instead. He mumbles a quick 'oh, whoops, sorry', before he says another thing. "Glad to hear that you're sleeping well- i dont know how you even managed to sleep, considering the bed's quality."

"Say, have you seen Anya anywhere?"
