What is your opinion on giving flowers?

It's not really seen as a thing that boys should uhh- give to other boys, because I really have no interest of giving it to a girl, but I love them!!

I have a book on flower symbolism and meaning, and I try to leave flowers on Neil's bed meaning different things when I'm able to go to town.

I adore giving him tulips the most, they grow out in the fields outside Hellton at spring, and they match his blush perfectly :))

The only thing I can remember about Shakespeare, is when Mr Keatings read out part of him in silly voices. Otherwise, I tend to avoid the topic of Shakespeare.

Do I need to read Shakespeare to pass my exams, where would one start with reading him and why has everyone waited until now to remind me we have an exam?

O captain o captain,

This is my assignment, I tried, maybe I need to redo the class as I seem to forget everything after the lesson ends. I should probably study more but who knows what I’ll end up doing.

This is not about my dog, or wait I wasn’t meant to say that.

Students, poets, lads, etc.,

I will be sharing your next assignment here, and will share prompts intermittently to encourage writing out of the classroom. This is not required, but extra points will be added to the grade of whoever chooses to participate.

Your prompt for this first assignment is to write a poem or adjacent piece of writing about/ for your favorite person. This doesn't have to be about a fellow classmate, student, or even a human, just someone that you love more than anyone else. It is not imperative that you reveal who the subject of your work is, but if you feel it's important to the piece, please do so!

If you need a point of inspiration or an example to reference if you're stuck, I've provided a poem I wrote not too long ago. You can do something similar, or something wildly different, whatever feels right to you.

Everything Sings

Earl gray graces the sleep-filled soul,

joined by the echoes of a kettle's sweetly strung note,

and the familiar pang of the carillon's morning hymnals.

Myths of Genesis's flood remain reminiscent of a choir I know well,

this ark of Noah's reduced to a mere vessel for God and His ballads I dedicated to you.
