Eddie Diaz and the way he's been taught to bite when the pain hits. Eddie Diaz and the teeth he sharpened to keep himself and his son safe.
-
"You've got a hundred bodies on you and you're gonna tell me I'm not fit for duty? Go to Hell, Bobby."
-
This man pulls out all the stops. Everything he knows will cause the most damage sits on the tip of his tongue- the words slipping out so softly to comfort them and spat so harshly to hurt them worse than they've hurt him.

In 8b I will accept nothing less than a tearful goodbye at the airport. Where Eddie places his St. Christopher necklace around Buck's neck with a cheesy line like, "Without me here to reel you in you're gonna need all the protection you can get." while his hand lingers on the pendant on his chest. And Buck is so shocked he can't speak so as Eddie turns to walk away he spins him around and kisses him. Eddie starts to sputter but the final boarding call cuts him off and he has to leave.
Then they're both too embarrassed to reach out to the other for awhile until Christopher finds out his dad gave away his most prized possession. So he takes the situation into his own hands and facetimes Buck, knowing he would never avoid him. And as soon as Buck answers, Chris hands the tablet to his dad, yelling "You guys need to sort your shit out!" and walking away.
It's a lot to ask but after the year we've all had we deserve it.
