True: ❌ Kind: ✅ Necessary: ❌
Verdict: Bad Reblog/Reply
While the intent of this reblog is clearly kindness and acceptance, the content demonstrates a complete lack of reading comprehension skills.
OP's post contains no judgement against people who get gastric bypass surgery. It only:
Mentions well-known facts about such procedures,
notes the similarity between gastric bypass surgery and hysterectomy, and,
highlights the hypocrisy of the medical professionals who will openly suggest such weight-loss procedures to the very same patients who they will deny procedures such as hysterectomy or tubal ligation.
Recognizing the way these procedures are targeted, and/or the long-term consequences of them, is not equal to a value judgement of either the procedure or those people who choose to have one. Therefore, the response is untrue, and as a result, unnecessary.
a hysterectomy??? but you’re so young!! why remove a perfectly healthy body part?? what if you meet a nice guy and he wants babies?? you have such a lovely temperament you’d be a great mother!! just take a few years to reconsider and i’m sure you’ll change your mind :) anyway i noticed you’re a big huge fatso, have you considered this irreversible elective procedure with a ton of complications where we remove 80% of your stomach so you can never eat normally again? :)

Verdict: Good Post
I bring a sort of "actually mass traumatic events have an effect on the public's mental health and you're NOT acting in isolation from that trauma, and ignoring it doesn't make it go away" vibe to the party that Americans do not like

step one to overcoming social anxiety is to realize that most people kind of suck and their opinion of you is literally worthless

Is it true? Is it kind? Is it necessary?
If what you want to say about someone else doesn't pass at least two out of these three gates, it was not worth saying.
I reblog posts, asks, screenshotted tags/replies, and general tumblr content and evaluate whether they were worth saying based on these three gates. Feel free to tag me in posts if you want a judgement.
I'm not trying to censor people. I'm just judging whether the content is worth anyone's fucking time and screen real estate.
I don't mine for content. This is a gimmick sideblog.
Don't like, don't follow. The block button exists. I use a VPN, don't bother trying to track me.
I try to tag for triggers, but might miss things. Sorry about that.
"Why do you quote this Mary Ann Pietzker person, isn't this quote by buddha?"
No. No it's not. It might be a vague paraphrase of a part of a sutra or two, but that can't be verified; the oldest references to this exact turn of phrase look to be from the 1800s, and Mary Ann Pietzker had it as the title of a poem around this time, so I quote her.
"Your avatar's abbreviation doesn't work with your url"
I don't care.
