He laughed a little and just stared into her eyes. He was having trouble believing this was real, she was actually awake. He let her focus on his hair and he just smiled down into her eyes. "Maybe I should keep it then." Travis said softly as he looked into her eyes. "You're telling me." He sighed and shook his head. "Okay. I'll talk to them so I know what's going on." He touched her cheek softly and caressed her cheek with his thumb. He needed to know what was going on and what the plans were to get Lili healed. As the topic of their daughter came up, he smiled and looked down at her. "She's perfect." He laughed a little. "She, uh, keeps me up all night and loves being held. She loves being wrapped in one of your shirts and gets your scent whenever we're not here." He swallowed. "She's downstairs if you want to see her. I'll have Andrew bring her up." @lilianaxjackson
"I like your hair long." She told him, attentively stroking his stubbled cheek before she moved it up and caressed them through his somewhat longer locks of hair. It wasn't much different, but she could tell. "You're always handsome." The woman said as if in a reminder, offering him a smile that was meant to soothe him rather than anything else. Liliana sucked in a breath when he asked how she was, lowering her hand and instead placing it around his. "They have." The woman nodded, lips pursed together. "Eclampsia is a bitch." She uttered, trying to keep it light despite just wanting to sob about it all day. "They're already putting a rehabilitation program together for my left side, saying that the sooner we start, the better chance I'll have for recovery. Whatever that means." Would it mean going back to normal? Would she have to use a cane? A wheelchair? She didn't want to think about it. "And my memory will be groggy for a while, so if I forgot I ate, you'll just have to indulge me." She shrugged, sneaking in a little white lie. "But enough about me, what is she like?" She tragically asked, not having gotten a chance to know her daughter yet. She was at least glad to hear that, despite being in a coma, she still proved useful enough to draw breast milk so she could eat. It made her feel less of a shitty mother, at least. "Tell me everything." @travisjackson

The connection between the two had always gone both ways. If the roles were reverse, he'd be just like Andrew and be able to sense the pain that went through his brother. However the roles were not reverse and while Travis didn't want to be going through this at all, he would never wish that the roles were different. Sobbing into his twin, he let himself release all that he had locked up. He was good at keeping things bottled in when he wanted, but with Andrew, they all came out. Minutes passed before he finally moved back and he swallowed. "I told you not to come." Travis spoke, trying to joke, but no sense of amusement was coming out of him. @drewxjackson
The bond that had him tethered to Travis had ever remained strong, unwavering despite any distance between them, Yet it was at it's most intense whenever Andrew would look at him, no words needed in order to gauge how his brother was feeling. He could feel his pain, feel the stress that clenched his shoulders and carried with him the weight of the world on his shoulders. He stood as solid as a tree when his brother hugged him, his arms protectively forming around him. As if he would attempt to protect him from outside dangers. "I'm here brother." Andrew uttered, allowing Travis to break down if that was what he needed. And he'd be there to pick up the pieces when he was done. "I'm here." @travisjackson

Travis was thankful for Ben stopping by. He had invited him over for dinner and with Lili and Bella May relaxing in their room, his older brother helped him with the dishes. It wasn't a lot, but having the help was always something Travis appreciated. "Me too." He told him as he put the plates away and then looked back at his brother. "Thanks for helping with this. I hate doing dishes." He chuckled a bit. @benjaminxjackson
starter for @travisjackson Location: Travis Place
Benny always enjoyed dinner with his siblings. He was helping Travis with the dishes, the male was glad for a relaxing evening like this. The last few weeks had been stressful and there was so much look forward into the new year. He had made some decisions on some projects and turned down some of them too. With everything going on, Ben had not really had a moment to speak with Travis and he wanted Travis to hear some news from him not from anyone else.
"I am glad we could have dinner and hang out," he spoke with a smile looking at his brother as he wipe dry clean dishes. Ben had been a bit quiet tonight and the last few days.

"You think?" He said with a smile and nodded as he looked at the ornament again. "Maybe. Or maybe I'll have some made." He said as he put the ornament down and looked through the others. "I was hoping to surprise Lili with a first ornament though for Bella. Though I'm hoping she won't be upset she didn't help pick it out." @benjaminxjackson
Ben was glad that Lililana was awake and he hopped that his brother can finally breath and take it easy a bit. He figured that it would take Travis a while to finally relax and breath but he was glad to see his brother in a good mood again. Ben was not doing anything, he had taken some time himself and he always enjoyed hanging out with his brothers. "It's beautiful and perfect for Bella's first Christmas," he answered with a smile as looking at his brother and the ornament before picking up on. "When you pick one, you should maybe have it engraved with all three of your names maybe?". @travisjackson

"And yet you said you knew why it happened." Travis commented before shaking his head. He didn't want to be doing this right now and honestly wanted his nephew to now leave. "Look, River. I appreciate the food, but I'm not in the mood to continue this." He took the bag of food. "Thanks for coming over. You can go now." Travis moved from his spot and went inside. @riverxjackson

He chuckled. "I will. I just wasn't thinking straight at the moment." he nodded as he head. "It sucks big time. The medical field is lacking people, so it's hard not everyone wants to push something off." he could tell it wasn't helping, so he stopped talking about it. He sighed. "As much as I wish I could say what happened and why, I don't know." he wasn't in the medical field that way yet; he wanted to, but that was years of schooling and work to do. "I am still trying to learn but this is bit above my pay grade..." he sighed. He was sure it was something about blood and clots but he wasn't sure enough to say anything about it. @travisjackson

After everything that happened with Lili, Andrew was the first person Travis called. He'd always be the first person he'd call no matter what. Having him so far away was painful and he insisted Andrew just continued his trip. He didn't want to ruin it and they didn't know anything. While he wanted him there, he wasn't going to beg. So when he heard his brother's voice, he looked up quickly and jumped out of his seat to hug his brother. Tears ran down his face as he held him and just didn't say anything as he let everything out. @drewxjackson
Drew had barely rested on the plane rides home. The longer it took for him to come home, the more time his twin brother was in agony with the situation he was in. How stupid he was to be in Nepal for longer than they knew Travis and Liliana's end date was. They'd talked about it, he knew that it had been an okay decision -- anything to work on himself and find his inner peace. Neither had known this would happen after all. He had no suitcase, just a large duffel bag for he knew that once he'd be there, he would only need clothes to hike in. Other than that, he'd be supplied with a simple linen pyjama to wear in the temple and in the place he had called home for the last few months.
So with the duffel bag thrown over his shoulder, he had made his way through the crowded hospital. He'd been an idiot in not having charged his phone on the plane, so he had gone directly towards the maternity ward only to be told his sister in law had been transferred to a different ward. More minutes wasted as he stormed through the hospital halls until he arrived where he needed to be, letting out a deep defeated breath as his eyes landed on his sister in law, seemingly asleep had it not been for the tubes and wires, to the small baby asleep in the hospital crib next to her, to his brother, who sat and looked as if he had the whole weight of the world on his shoulders. "Hey, little brother." He breathed, dropping the bag on the floor next to the door and walked towards his brother so he could pull him into a hug. @travisjackson

He nodded. "Hopefully you'll get used to it soon." Travis wanted both River and Rory to feel like they were part of the Jackson family. While, of course, they were, he knew it was different than what they were used to growing up with his eldest brother as a father. He nodded. "It does." He tried to stay calm as his nephew talked, but he gripped the railing harder. "You're right. It's not an excuse." He said harshly. "Busy or not, they should take a patient's symptoms seriously." He turned to him. "Do you? Do you know why it happened? Or just coming up with reasons for it?" @riverxjackson
He made a face, "I am still getting used to this... having a family around thing." Even though it had been close to two years now, he felt that he was still learning how to be part of a family. He knew it was hard, so he did his best to try and make Travis feel better. "I know, but still, I know it helps to show up," he said, visiting when he could on shift. "I know I am not in the medical field, really ...but know one thing can be so many things, and they are so busy, not that it's an excuse." he shook his head he had calls about nearly the same thing. "Just hate that it happened, but I know why it did." The medical field always needed more staff, and it was hard. 'But all we can do is be there for her" and know the doctors were doing their best. @travisjackson

With Lililana awake, all Travis really wanted to do was be at home with her and Bella May. He hadn't returned to work yet as he was helping her around the house, but he knew someone had to do the Christmas shopping and so he got Ben to go with him to look around the festival for something to get his wife and daughter. "What about this?" He asked curiously as he held up an ornament. "Think it'd be cute for Bella's first Christmas?"

He laughed softly as he released more tears and just stared into her beautiful eyes. He was so scared he would never see them looking back at him again and now they were. He prayed that this wasn't a dream. As Lili said he must kiss her, he leaned in and kissed her softly so he didn't hurt her. One day, he would kiss her passionately like they had before, but right now, he just wanted her to be okay. After pulling back a little, Travis leaned into her touch and he nodded. "I know. I haven't had time. Should probably cut my hair too." Which wasn't true, he did have the time, he just didn't make it between taking care of their daughter and coming to see his wife. "I am now." He spoke softly as he stared into her eyes. "How are you feeling? Have they talked to you?" @lilianaxjackson
"I am." Liliana smiled, though she felt like she hadn't slept at all. She was weak, tired, struggling to keep her eyes open. But this was important, she wanted to be with him, to see her little girl. She was still coming to terms with all that had happened and what her new reality was, she needed him to make it make sense to her. "No." She told him, lightly squeezing his hand. "You must." Call her sappy, but it had been weeks since she had kissed his lips. She waited for him to lean down, for even lifting her head required a lot of energy from her. It wasn't as passionate as their kisses usually were, but given the situation, she was certain neither were bothered by it. It at least made her feel safe. "You need a shave." She told him, a slight teasing tone to her voice as she lifted her right hand, caressing the stubble that had grown. It was clear that from the sight of him, he had neglected taking care of himself, not just in terms of not shaving, but it was evident he hadn't eaten as well as he should. She knew. She could see even the slightest change. "Are you okay?" @travisjackson

"Well, I have years of practice." Travis told him; trying to joke about it, but it was the truth. He had gotten good about hiding his pain and what was going on in his mind and now would be any different. "Alright. Let me hear it." He sat back and listened to his older brother talk about what he had decided. "I get it. I mean, look at my old place." He still owned it and let Andrew stay there when he was in town. He wasn't sure what else to do with it right now as he couldn't bring himself to sell it. "But a fresh start is never a bad thing. You can still remember the good times wherever you are. You gotta do what's best for you." @benjaminxjackson

He took a deep breath and nodded. "I will. You're gonna get as bad as Andrew if you keep it up." He tried joking with his nephew, but the smile didn't stay on his face. As his wife came into topic, it fell more and he took a deep breath. "Thanks. Honestly, there's not much to know. It's just a lot of waiting to see if she wakes up." Travis explained. "If they would've just took her headaches seriously..." He gripped the railing. He had half a mind to sue the hospital because of it, but he didn't want to ruin any kind of treatment his wife was getting right now. @riverxjackson
River didn't even notice what he had said. "Oops," he chucked, "But family is family' it didn't matter what "type" of family it was. "That's good." he knew newborns had difficulty getting to sleep. He gave Travis a little smile smirk as he went and sat the food down. "Please do try and eat too?" he knew it had to be hard with what was going on. He smiled as he went and sat down by his uncle. "After I drop people off at the hospital, I've asked about Liliana." he couldn't be told much, but he always got what updates he could as her family. "They don't tell me much normally... but when. I can I do try and visit too" he smiled. @travisjackson

He took a deep breath as she waved him off and he got a water out for himself before sitting down. "Um, I ate this morning." He said and rubbed his eyes for a moment before nodding. "Yeah. Got a few hours." Which wasn't fully true. He probably had about an hour with taking care of his daughter and just worrying in general. "You don't have to worry about me, though. I'm fine." He had been through a lot worse and all he could do right now is hope he wasn't going to lose Lili too. He had to think positive, though, and pray she'd wake up soon. "You're more than welcome to eat, though." @auroraxjackson
Looking between her uncle and her new baby cousin, Rory nodded with a soft smile. "Of course," they were family and despite the first twenty six years of her life consisting of a horrible view of family, this past year had opened her eyes as to what that word truly meant. "Sure," she nodded again regarding going to Lillian's room, letting Travis lead the way. She set down the bag of food on an empty chair and waved him off before replying, "have you eaten? Have you been able to sleep at all?" She asked, sitting down on the windowsill, worried about her uncle and wanting to make sure someone checked in on him. @travisjackson

Travis was quiet as he listened to his friend talk and shook his head. "I'm not judging you." He reassured the man. "You were panicking and it all makes sense. People handle these things differently." He shrugged. He would've told Lili if anything was going on, but like he said, people handle things differently. "I get giving her space, but I wouldn't wait too long. She deserves to know and you should tell her. It'd be good for the both of you in the long run." @hudsonxelliot

"I've wanted to," he told Travis, "but she's not giving me the time of day and who can blame her," he shook his head, "I should have explained it earlier on but I made a mistake, I panicked," Hudson regretted every minute since then. "I keep trying, though, I don't want to stop trying because I still love her, but I also know that I have to give her the space because if I don't and try to explain it, no matter what I say, she's just going to hear that I abandoned her." Which, he did. Hudson sighed, dropping his gaze to the floor, "thanks for talking to me about this, really. I get it if you're judging me, I know I am." @travisjackson

For a moment, Travis swore the call was just a dream. Hearing the doctor say that Liliana woke up made him stand there stupidly in the middle of his living room while Andrew just stared at him. If his twin didn't take his phone and hear what the doctor said and snapped him out of it, he probably would be standing there still. He rushed out the door without a second thought and Andrew drove him and Bella to the hospital out of fear that Travis would wreck on the way over; which with how antsy he was, it was probably exactly what would've happened. With his brother and daughter in the waiting room, he rushed to Lili's room and walked in to see his wife. His heart filled with so much relief and love that tears filled his eyes and he moved over to her. "You're awake." He said and took her hand and looked her over. "How do you feel? Can I kiss you?" He asked, not wanting to hurt her. @lilianaxjackson
Liliana had woken up in a daze. Confused and terrified. To make it worse, the hospital had told her husband to hold off visiting her as they did their tests and find out her current condition. She was unaware of the fact the hospital hadn't apologised for their part in how it had all gone down. It was a thought that plagued her when her current condition became more clear to her. She felt incredibly weak, unable to move her left side aside from a few fingers. What if they had taken her headache complaints more seriously? Why wasn't she able to see her husband, her daughter? At least they'd comforted her with the fact that her daughter was healthy and at home. It was less heartbreak at least and, as Liliana caught herself thinking, something for Travis to stay occupied with. Staring out of the hospital window, there wasn't much for her to do but to wait. Wait until she could finally see her husband and daughter again while she lay in her bed, her right hand clutching against the robes she'd been wearing, lifting it to her chin as if to hide the scar that covered her throat. @travisjackson

"You mean cousin." Travis corrected his nephew as he took another drink of his beer. "She's good. She's asleep." He told him before glancing at the food River was talking about and was about to say he was fine, before his nephew predicted what he would say. "You can go put it in the kitchen. I'm sure someone will eat it." If not him, then Andrew or anyone else coming into his home visiting. @riverxjackson
River had been checking in on Travis as much as he could when he wasn't working, along with checking in on Liliana, too. That was more when he was at the hospital for work; he asked if he had time to check in. But due to the situation, he couldn't go without Travis being there. He walked up with a bag of food, sure that Travis wasn't hungry or eating much, but he had to bring it. "Hey Travis" he smiled as he walked up to him. "How is my favorite niece?" he asked as he sat down by Travis, setting the bag on the table. "The good news of the firehouse is everyone cooks; bad news is they cook way too much," he chuckled. "I am sure you will say your fine, but please take it " it was a number of leftovers, so Travis had a few things to choose from. @travisjackson

He nodded at him and smiled. "I appreciate it. She's definitely doing amazing, that's for sure." Travis was so proud of his wife and was glad that they were both getting this; even if it was slightly nerve-wracking for him after what he had been through. "I'm happy she is too. She'll be an excellent mother." @anthonyxblake
Anthony nodded his head, "That's good, I'm glad to hear it." At Travis' words, he shook his head, "I appreciate it, it's fine," he told the other, "just wanted to check that everythin' was going well." Just because they weren't together, didn't mean that he didn't care about Liliana and the baby. And in this moment, Travis, too. "She's always wanted this so I'm just glad she's finally getting it." @travisjackson
