Happy thirsty Thursday Debbie. You always made Thursdays epic. It will never feel the same without you here to celebrate. But everyday I'm learning more and more about the legendary life you lived. How blessed I was to know you for the past few years and call you my mom. At first I could feel you weren't sure about me, the girl you had just met who decided to take your beloved son all the way to Taiwan!!! I was intimidated by little ol' you because I could feel the deep love, devotion, and protection you have for Ryan. I didn't know if I would ever win your heart! But very soon you opened your arms to me and made me feel as if you were my own mother. I love you so much and will forever deeply cherish every text message, WhatsApp call, FaceTime, and special moment we spent together! Two years ago on St. Patty's day you made me green beer... Tonight I made a green Moscow Mules and we raised toast to you 😘 #inmemory #legendary #restinpower #toasttoyou #stpatricksday #greenbeer #throwbackthursday (at East Lansing, Michigan)

A fall isn't final unless you stay on the ground. Let acceptance be your medicine today. We can't control other's actions or beliefs. But we can control our own beliefs about ourself and then take action. When we fall down we can stand up faster and stronger than we did before. I know because I've done it countless times. We can't control what happens to us, but we can control the way we look at each day and situation. We can't control when our dreams will take off, but we can cultivate abundance in all areas of life though being grateful for the little things and blessings we already have in our lives. We can change our fate if we take a step back and learn from our past. ❤❤❤ #thelittlethings #realtalk #changeyourfate #grateful #acceptance

My Favorite LESSON from Thailand was learning to go with the flow, trust more, and let go of my need to control. You see, we went to Thailand with only one night booked in a hotel. I wanted the freedom to go with the flow and leave room for surprise! Then on day 2, we did a tour in Bangkok that resulted in us stopping by a tour agency and booking hotels for our entire two weeks in Thailand right then and there! So much for surprise😞... I walked out of the tour office IN TEARS and feeling defeated. I was upset because I felt I lost all my "freedom" to be spontaneous. I felt that by saying yes to our tour agent, all the magic and mystery I had hoped to have in Thailand was dead. BUT that couldn't have been further from the truth! After my OVER-REACTION, I realized my feelings came from my intense need to control everything. I then let go of whatever ideas I had in my head about how my Thailand trip should go. Letting a native Thai woman plan our trip was actually a GREAT idea and we ended up absolutely LOVING the 4 places she chose for us. I never would have found them without her! We still encountered a lot of surprises and were spontaneous during the trip. PLUS after my initial breakdown and feelings of regret, accepting our decision left me feeling relieved to know we wouldn't have to think of where to go next or worry about booking hotels ourself. It's funny looking back at how I dramatize such small things sometimes. Releasing the need to control and trusting other people is a much more freeing way to live! That was a big growth moment for me and I'm glad I was able to release how I thought our travels would go right from the very first country, and instead be open for what lie ahead 🌴🌴🌴 #lessonlearned #thailand #2016reflections (at Koh Samui, Thailand)

How will you judge less today? Lately I've been annoyed when I hear people being judge mental of others, which I realize is my own form of judgement! Our culture and media places a huge emphasis on how we look, our status, and what we possess....especially today on Christmas!🌲But the truth is that we are all the same. I am not better than you and you are no better than me. So rather than judging today and thinking that our way is better than that person, forgive yourself for your own judgements and choose to unite in compassion. Usually when we judge others, it's a result of harshly judging our selves. We have more alike with one another than is different. Our egos cannot survive without judgement, and all judgement does is divide and separate. Our true spirit seeks to unify and heal relationships. Judgement shows up as jealousy, comparison, envy, or thinking another person is your source of happiness or pain. When you catch yourself judging today, remember it's a reflection of your own fears about yourself. Take a deep breathe and and send the judgement away. Replace the judgement with kind words about yourself and the other person. Give yourself a compliment then voice a compliment to the one you were judging. Can we go and entire day without judging another person's beliefs, choices? It's not as easy, but this is my intention for this holy day. Judgement drains happiness, and oneness sets us free. ✨✨✨✨Inspired by @gabbybernstein and Chapter #9 of her new book, #TheUniverseHasYourBack !!

Everyday devotion in Thailand. I love that in Thailand you can't go far without seeing deep devotion and faith. A reminder to be present and grateful for every single day we have on this earth.

I can't believe this time last year I ran a 26.2-mile marathon on Taiwan! And today 4-miles was challenging but it feels so good to run and be home in America decompressing. As a natural thrill seeker, I love to be traveling and going 100-miles an hour. But currently I'm taking my sweet time each day and enjoying a slow pace of life. It feels simple and just right. #runnerslife #marathoner #backtothegrind
