from now on i will tag my drawings about christian mythology that do not conform to catholic dogmas with #blasphemy in case someone should not want to see them. to me is important to use christian imagery in my art both to elaborate my religious experience and to converse with the art masters (and not only them) that have shaped the culture of the country i live in and with people who share a similar cultural background to mine, but i do recognize it could be offensive for some. i will be more careful with the tags in general. i am sorry if i have offended someone
#not art#christian mythology#he is not an art master but in the case of the gabriel/mary drawing i was responding to il sogno di maria by fabrizio de andré Specifically#la buona novella is such an important album to me

Hiya! I don't know if anyone has ever said this before, but your portrait of Old Andreas has such a Moral Orel vibe, especially with his eyes
it definitely wasn't intentional, but during that period i used to sketch moral orel characters all the time so it is likely that some elements of their stylization influenced other pieces! anyway it is always interesting to see which associations my art triggers in those who view it, so thank you so much for your message <3

thank you so so much, you have answered my question and espanded the theme so beautifully! i had catched glipses of elements borrowed from the gospels in other episodes of the dyonisiaca, but the link between the tree-climbing and zacchaeus didn't occurr to me.
and your research sounds incredibly interesting; now i am absolutely looking forward to get to the parts with ampelus and pentheus
question not related to art (yet):
lately i have been reading the dionysiaca by nonnus and just yesterday i have reached the part in which actaeon's myth is told. nonnus makes acteaeon climb a tree in order to spy on artemis, and i wanted to ask - how popular is this element in this myth? because it is very clear that here nonnus intends to draw as many parallels between actaeon and pentheus as possible (as he should) and if i remember correctly in ovid there are no mentions of actaeon climbing a tree. does someone knows any other classical versions in which this element is present?
thank you in advance

thank you so much @hercorrupterofwords for the tag 💌💌
last song: sat in your lap by kate bush
last book: modern architecture by otto wagner because today i had an exam of contemporary architecture. and before wagner le corbusier. and before le corbusier loos. i love contemporary architecture but i am a bit tired i confess
last movie: 2023 renfield. i had to counterbalance nosferatu. it's trash but it's trash made with love and i enjoyed it more than i expected to. also i am a renfield/knock girlie since i was 14
last TV show: probably the death note 2015 drama? months ago
sweet/savory/spicy: spicy
relationship status: single and frankly more confused than ever by the intricacies of human relationships
last thing I looked up on the internet: ineffable space: le corbusier's colour schemes for the monastery sainte marie de la tourette
current obsession: death note
looking forward to: sleep......
tag: whoever wants to. i give you the permission to say that i have tagged you if you want to do this
#imagine lie on the white altar of la tourette and taking a nap...........#just you and the dim colored light and the unforgiving concrete around you#tag game#not art

lovely people who follow this account,
thank you so so much for having supported my art this year. it sincerely means the world to me.
i am sorry for not having been that active lately, but i have received a commission (for which i am extremely grateful and that i am loving working on) that will keep me occupied for many months. i hope i will be able to show you something about it soon.
sometimes i have some windows of free time between the feedbacks of the client and, if university or work allow me to do it, i use them to draw some personal things. for this reason i will probably still post from time to time, but i would like these kind of drawings to be less polished and demanding than the usual ones. the fact is that my mental health has not been in a good state during the second half of 2024, and to work with a more casual process when it comes to personal things is helping me a bit. aside from this, i am absolutely determined to work on myself to come back stronger than before.
i hope you will still enjoy the art that i make and, if not, i am really grateful that you have followed my blog until now 🫶🏼
thank you so much to everyone else for your patience. i wish you the most meaningful and serene 2025 ♥️
