Avoidance and the type to be at one another's throats over minor things but instead they fell into the exact opposite of that. In fact, it had been so much of the opposite they complimented one another in a way that no one realized possible. At least, in a way Sabine had not thought possible for herself.

The way her cheeks had begun to feel the sting of a smile being held upon her features for too long, the laughter that filled the room when they were alone, the way for flashes of time she became the better version of herself. There was something that she had not realized that came with the freedom of exploration and knowledge into the world that he had come from. It had been exhilarating in the way fights had been without the bloodshed.

Her once blood clad hands began to be washed away with walks together, dinners in exotic places and a shared interest in older books. It was almost ironic in that way, the one person who was gifted with the abilities of a relic connected to water was the one cleansing Sabine. Who would have thought?

Tonight had been one of reading together, a new text had been released by one of Sabine's old co-workers and she had found herself deep down a hole with the topic. She had not seen what book he picked up but had already made a mental note to ask before they retired for the evening.

The venom and anger had all but diminished from her at least tonight. It still lived between her rib cage in the place her heart belong but their time together often soothed that beast. It was not until his hand gently lifted her chin that Sabine finally pulled herself from the thick pages of text. A small smile as she stared at him. Her own slender hands, although cold attempted a warm return of his touch. Her hand on his cheek before she leaned forward and pressed her lips to his. A rare sweet motion from the creature who carried poison in her veins. Fangs had all been but retracted for each moment with Harbor and this, a sure sign of her feelings even if not spoken aloud.

❝Why? We've got to leave in a few hours so what would that do when I can be working on more effective toxins?❞

A few more seconds before she set it on the table and started a stop watch. Her tone was sharp but not angry or bitter, it seemed to be a genuine question. Her time as of late had been consumed with a push towards more lethal steps with her toxins against their omega counterparts. The new things happening with lotus plus the addition of Deadlock, she worried about what might be on the horizon.

❝Something is changing, there is going to be something. With this new place and the new girl. I worry we aren't being aggressive enough toward Kingdom or our counter parts. That means no time to spend admiring the flowers. Not that one should be in the first place.❞

Footsteps rang out as the others approached where the pair were and Sabine could feel the energy build. She lived for these moments, these seconds that counted, the strange but good feeling of getting justice for what happened to her friend.

Vandal held tightly as she peeked out onto site the wall she had expertly crafted now rose to provide her with some form of cover. A glance back towards where she had left Skye.

She rose from her chair and circled him for a moment, intensity in the air was sharp enough a knife would pass through it.

*✧･ﾟ:*✧･ﾟ:  ───🧪       There it was, the smallest joke, the smallest comment that could light her up & allow her to smile. It is cruel to speak of the others in such a light, but it makes her giggle. The kind she had only ever done once on the battlefield in a moment of the enemies error walking into her wall and straight into her line of sight or onto her mollies, when it was fun to get payback for what they did.

❝As much fun as that would be, I don't think it would solve our problems. It might make more, maybe not for us but with Brimstone for sure.❞

Another small laugh as she stood in front of the espresso machine. She took a moment before a side step was taken. Two tea cups grabbed as she gently pressed a small side in the cupboard to find his tea. They'd worked together to find a hiding spot, the others started to steal them when k-cups ran out.

❝We should do something fun though, murder is always great on the board but something minor to get back. Sage is second for the time being so I think I earned a bit more of a reason to be shoved down on this totem pole.❞
