I couldn't actually identify most of them, I'm not an expert, but I realized that some of those frames shown in the Utena movie actually make reference to different fairy tales. See:

The Little Mermaid

Hansel and Gretel

The Little Match Girl

I've never actually seen this flower in my life. But I had a hunch, and I think this might be flax. In some versions of The Sleeping Beauty, she falls asleep after getting a splinter of flax in her finger.

Now, roses show up a lot in fairy tales, making this one more difficult to pinpoint, so I'll settle to use one that I noticed was referenced in the movie.

The little red shoe shown floating towards the surface of the river could very much be a reference to The Snow Queen.
Same as the last one applies

In Rapunzel, when told that he'll never be able to see the girl again, the prince throws himself out of the tower, and in some versions is pushed, and lands on a thorny bush that blinds him.

Again, winter imagery is pretty common. Possibly The Pine Tree, but could be a lot of different things.
Now, here are all the ones I couldn't identify or even take a guess at. I don't know if they're a reference to fairy tales or other literature. I'm not very well read.

you walk out of ohtori academy and you're going to find a thousand different permutations of ohtori academy, many less severe but most of them following similar patterns. you walk out of lumon and you're going to find a thousand different permutations of lumon, many less severe but most of them following similar patterns. even if you walk away from omelas, you might find a thousand different permutations of omelas, etc. etc. etc. it's not that the world is fucked or unfixable or that you shouldn't leave abusive situations - of course not. but those patterns of power unfortunately exist everywhere and you will likely have to fight them still wherever you end up.

so a la the komaeda checklist I've been working on a checklist for whether a character is a rose bride
first and foremost, a rose bride must be having a bad time. if they're not suffering, they're not a rose bride
the following are not necessary, but a rose bride should check a few of them
a girl or woman, especially a divine feminine archetype
queer, or queer-coded
manipulated into doing bad things/hurting others, especially by a family member
victim of sexual violence
views themselves as less than human or not having free will
others try to save them, even though they don't understand them
gets stabbed a lot
not a comprehensive list, but I think it works

like yeah, akio is an incompetent tryhard doing his best to come off as mature, intelligent and sophisticated to a bunch of schoolchildren who don’t know any better! and this only serves to make you all the more utterly disgusted with him.
love it when abusers in fiction are pathetic in a way that humanizes them but instead of using this to try and make the viewer sympathize with them it just highlights just how unspeakably vile they are. because at the end of the day abusers are just human beings like any other and there isn’t any inherent or innate quality that sets them apart from other people other than the actions they take.
